Michigan Poll Bernie within MOE

Poll out today from MSU:
The cell phone and landline telephone survey interviewed 838 Michigan adults. The margin of error is 3.4 percent for the full survey, 5.8 percent among 290 likely Republican voters and 6.1 percent among 262 likely Democratic voters.

The State of the State Survey is a quarterly measure of the attitudes and opinions of Michiganders. It asks questions about consumer confidence, gubernatorial and presidential performance.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are basically neck and neck........Clinton leads Sanders 51.9 percent to 46.9 percent, which is well within the margin of error.

"Well-known candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump developed early leads in their primary races. Bernie Sanders has gained ground on Clinton, but the Republican opposition to Trump has yet to consolidate behind a clear alternative," said Matt Grossmann, IPPSR director and political scientist.

This is so encouraging. Thanks for posting it. Best wishes from Canada to all those who have worked so hard to help Bernie in MI get this close - so timely. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all and with the MI voters tomorrow. I will be glued to Bernie's section of the town hall tonight. I bet he closes the deal tonight and MI surprises the world with a big ole Bernie boost. Go Bernie!

No wonder she is running scared. her performance last night was so poor, that my Honey even said, "What's up with that?" And she prefers HRC to Bernie.

cnn & msnbc are sticking to the clinton campaign's approved script: hillary's got a big lead & time/math isn't on bernie's side, blah, blah, blah, yay hillary!!

& of course there's no mention of this poll, either.

good to see they're wrong -- as usual.

If the young people show, Bernie wins.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are basically neck and neck and Donald Trump leads among likely Republican voters in Michigan's March 8 presidential primary, according to a new Michigan State University survey.

Results from the winter State of the State Survey released by the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research show competitive races. With 147 Democratic delegates and 59 Republican delegates, Michigan is the second-biggest prize to date, after Texas.

Hillary up by 5 or maybe, because of the MOE, down by 1! Or maybe, because of the MOE, up by 11.

I think it's going to be close. I think Bernie's gaining. Oops, I have nothing but instinct to base that on. I do know this: the schmucks that like Hillary (that doesn't mean all who like her, just the schmucks) will insist something! no matter what the outcome is there.

they will claim that:

  • He always was expected to win Michigan
  • It doesn't matter because his margin should have been bigger
  • Michigan is just a small state
  • Nobody lives there except lily white hippy freaks
  • Michigan is right next door to Vermont. You can practically see it from your front porch
  • Michigan is a weird state, no conclusions can be drawn from it

There. Did I miss any?
