Sit-a-while
on swinging porch

Good morning good people!

Been a week of failing camalots; climbing up, sliding, hail beating down, losing traction; hard to put a good face on, but...
here goes:

Accepting reality begs the question of what is real and i have no pronouncements; having lived to this older age without confirmations, seems trust is in order. The sun comes up.

Morning poetry:

On hilltop lived a rose

quiet in color

composed

sharing red beyond its path

of nosy creatures making way

until this day.

i feel for the innocent people of Yemen as i posted not long ago, i've a friend i see most days and he shares i-phone photos of his family there, a surprisingly beautiful country, too.

Some of the poorest folks on the planet and the USA feeds them a diet of daily bombs, disgraceful.

Haven’t been able to spend much time on c99p in the last few weeks. A Dutch friend who is blind and I are heading off to a 10-day music workshop next week, and I’ve been busy transcribing choral parts into Music Braille for her.

The odd pattern I have noticed when taking care of issues of older relative, financial or personal care. The biggest complainers are persons who never step up and actually become the primary caregiver. It is as if they relieve themselves of their guilt feeling by directing (complaining) on how current care is insufficient.

When it is a close relative old emotional issues and grievances that may be decades old rise to the surface. Events you may have never known took place.

In the end you simply need to know in your heart you did the best you could with the information available at the time and could afford in time, energy and money.

Take care my friend, and do not stress yourself into a new health problem for yourself.

Perfectly said; i had a similar conversation with one of Mom's nurses this week and you are so right, seems to be a universal trait. Those with no skin in the game bitch the loudest. That's cruel of me, but it's true.

all about those guys until I saw the caption on that clip. Thanks mucho. My week to cook starts tomorrow and I have nothing planned yet, so maybe I'll go meditate on the form of a garlic bulb until I get inspired. Heh.

We used to sit onstage in off and off-off B'way theatres "trying to draw Clive Barnes to us through the power of prayer," should work for cooking, too. Smile

the cool wind of negative ions lifted my eyes to the blue skies and mountain tops and it felt good.

Shops are busy, dogs and children play and old men wait patiently, clung to parking meters to stay upright. Must add an afternoon hike or go sit by the river to today's chores.

I am so sorry that it's been rough going. I hope something shifts.

Like most people, I saw Sam Shepherd in The Right Stuff. I had no idea how multi-talented and prolific he was, though, until I read a couple his obituaries, then read his wiki. What a phenom!

Yes, let's dance. At the high school where I used to live, evening classes were available for a reasonable fee. We took ballroom dancing lessons, which included tango. It was not Tango Argentina; and I'm sure we didn't look anything like the people in those videos. But, we had fun. I highly recommend dancing lessons. You just have to be indifferent to how silly you might look to the instructor and your fellow students and enjoy. I meant to take flower arranging, but never got around to it somehow. I did take fencing. Also fun.

good to see you. Yes, dancing moves the muscles of the soul and fencing, that's cool and kinda rare. i have two foils, French and Italian, leaning up against the wall behind my desk and two masks hanging on the dresser, close to 50-years-old; sweet that you enjoy a parry as well.

Been many moons since last i used them with my son, thanks for bringing good memories up to surface.

This is sorta deja vu all over again--reminds me of when you took over the Tuesday OT's when we were just 'the Lifeboat!' Wink Seriously, can't always check in on weekends, but I try to lurk, and rec later in the week. And, I do appreciate your inspirational messages, poetry, and music each Saturday. My best to your Mom.

I'd hoped to have a premium quote for you by today from NC Farm Bureau, but I've kept missing the agent's call, and, for some reason, when I've attempted to reach him (and he's with a client), they're not willing to just let someone pass the info to me. I'm calling again Monday, and I'll leave you a message over at EB, as soon as I get the info.

BTW, initially, I couldn't bring up the FB NC website, in order to see which insurer they contract with to provide Medicare Supplements. Finally, it came up Friday, and, it appears that BC/BS is their third party provider. (That was not the provider for our local FB, which had such excellent 'community' rates.) Actually, of the insurers that we considered, the FB Medigap Plans were the only ones that didn't rate by gender. Guess that makes sense--the organization's mission is to provide services to 'farmers,' who, last time I checked, are mostly males.

Honestly, I would have 'stroked out' if I had seen 2 premium hikes in less than a year. I hope that NC FB will have a better deal for you.

old times return good memories, happy we had a sense of community from the beginning. i wish i had more time to engage in all the interesting posts on c99, but like you said, i try and pop in as much as possible, too.

Many thanks for researching the FB supplemental, a break from these rising monthly costs would be appreciated. Appears i have to search for a new drug plan as well as my present coverage doesn't cover a couple of new drugs and unfortunately, Medicare doesn't pay for one i need, hoping to get into a trial. Waiting for scheduling to be arranged at CH and Duke, probably in September for pulmonary hypertension and bronchiectasis, collectively, they are slowing me down.

Cheers for thinking of Mom, she's stable and receiving good care; wishing the medicaid was settled, but that's another 45-60 days out. More red tape...

Give my regards to Nashville, the crew, especially the four-legged friends.
