Those who accept, with major trepidations, this status quo, changing daily, may be nudged forward to resistance if calm discussion is permitted. We just need to find a way to make resistance clear, shining and method unknown.
That's my stumbling block (please don't let me stumble again). Temporarily disabled, cast on foot-to-knee, I have many things to be frustrated about. Trying to sharpen those feelings to some doings in the next 1.5 weeks.
Hey, Mimi! Good pick!

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Hang in there! Getting closer to 'healed time' every day!
(Sending hugs and healing hopes, as always.)
We begin to mentally assemble. Similar thoughts.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
"As Hannah Arendt wrote in “The Origins of Totalitarianism,” the only morally reliable people are not those who say “this is wrong” or “this should not be done,” but those who say “I can’t.”
and yet still demands everyone perceive it as the underdog, nobly “resisting” those it tramples underfoot, the conquered and expelled.
The plant stinking up the Easter bouquet (in German; the author is angry that the organizers of this year’s Easter peace marches listed Israel among places where a change is called for)
I think there are many out there "resisting" who are ready for "revolution". The difference between resistance & revolution is the endgame. Resistance is just holding on, making the best of it. Revolution is fomenting change.
I think people are far closer to revolution than most of us think.
Of course this is anecdotal, and has a niche demographic that is high on the empathy scale (dog trainers & teachers), but it is new, to my eyes.
War and corporate sponsored public policy have jumped the shark, and everybody knows it.
We need to keep chipping away.
This documentary, Hypernormalization, another one by Adam Curtis, is just insanely good (and terrifying) and fits quite nicely with Hedges and C99.

Thanks so very much for this! Not easy to find something so heartening in the midst of confusion and despair, woven within a tale of horrors ultimately overcome by humanity within humanity.

This part stood out to me,
"As Hannah Arendt wrote in “The Origins of Totalitarianism,” the only morally reliable people are not those who say “this is wrong” or “this should not be done,” but those who say “I can’t.”
Sometimes one side of a conflict has total control of everything
