I'm Voting a Straight Ticket
And the color isn't red or blue, it's Green.
I'm fortunate that there are a number of Green party candidates on the ballot in my district, not just Jill Stein for President, but also Green candidates for local office and for the US Senate. I will vote for them and no one else. If there is no Green party candidate running I will refuse to vote for Republican or Democratic candidates. Individually, perhaps, they may be decent people, but collectively their parties have sold us down the river. So why give them my vote? Their party(ies) hasn't earned or deserved it in decades.
I suggest that you all do the same, and if there is no Green Party candidate on the ballot, write-in Jill. Or pick some other 3rd party and vote for them.
But by no means give any votes to Democrats or Republicans. The Uni-party doesn't need any validation, and the fewer votes it receives the easier it is to attack as a party elected by a minority, one that deserves no mandate to accomplish anything.
Of course you are free to do as you like.
This is just my personal opinion, my personal advice and my personal viewpoint on what I consider a phony election giving cover to a sham democracy.
The real battles begin after November 8th in any event.
Indeed, the indigenous people at Standing Rock are fighting one now to protect their land and ours, their water and ours, and the fate of the world we all share.
If you have a twitter or Facebook account please use it to spread the word about the tyranny of the government and the violence it is perpetrating upon the Water Protectors at the NoDAPL protest site, as we are well aware the Corporate Media will not report accurately on the situation there except to promote disinformation and smear the protestors.
Take care all,
Steve

Voted independent or Green where I could.
Voted for Stein for president. Maybe one Democrat locally. Otherwise the Repigs were running unopposed.

I'm not voting Green for Senator
There is a decent Democrat running and a really vile Republican incumbent. Tammy Duckworth came through for our union in opposition to Obama. She saved my job. I'm repaying the favor.
As for the rest, yes Green where there is a candidate, blank where there isn't.
And NO on the road lobby's amendment.
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
Road Lobby Amendment
What's behind this amendment? I'm having trouble finding information.
Hi, Karl! Long time, no see!
I think they are calling it the "Safe Roads Amendment" to the Illinois Constitution. It would require that all fuel taxes and other road taxes MUST be used for roads and ONLY for roads. I don't know who is behind it or who is paying for the billboards and TV commercials, but it's pretty obvious that road contractors and their Republican allies are behind it. Damn near every road in Illinois is torn up already and the traffic jams cause more gasoline sales and more road taxes which this amendment would require to be spent whether more road work is needed or not. it would forbid use of this money to pay state pensions or retire debt or used for welfare. That's why I think Republicans are behind it. Governor Rauner (nicknamed "Ruiner") wants to screw the state workers, pensioners, Social Security recipients, welfare recipients, and public school teachers to balance the budget. He is succeeding in part because the Democrats, led by Speaker Madigan, pretty much refuse to do anything like cure obvious pension rip-offs or raise any taxes. Illinois has an income tax, but it's flat. The state constitution forbids a graduated tax and no one has the testicular fortitude to propose amending it. So regressive property taxes and sales taxes run rampant.
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
Thanks, Voice
Thanks for the information re: the Road Amendment. I will vote NO. It's presented as a harmless amendment that would protect our roads and it almost fooled me. Got to watch these sneaky amendments. Good seeing you over here at C99. P.S. I think Tammy Duckworth will be elected!! It's nice that Jill Stein is on our ballot too.
Early Voter in IL as Well
I voted Green where there was a candidate (such as POTUS and the State Comptroller). I also voted for Duckworth, although I think the voters will want to keep a watch on how she votes in the Senate (presuming she wins) as she appears to be part of the Clinton wing or could be. I hope she will be voting with Sanders and Warren on many issues.
I voted No as well as on the Transportation funding amendment When Rauner is behind some initiative, it is not a good thing.

Green here also.
We do have one good democrat running for state assembly.
The Greens really dropped the ball for NY Senate. I don't think Schumer is nearly as well liked as many suppose. I wish the Greens could have had someone out running against him since last spring.

All You Stein Voters Are Making a Huge Mistake!
Fact is, the Hillary Clinton campaign has a secret plan to address the concerns of progressive-minded voters in a meaningful and substantive way, which will be revealed immediately after the election. Unfortunately I'm not at liberty to divulge the details, but this memorable clip from the movie Animal House should provide to the discerning viewer at least some small clue as to what the plan involves.

OT or on?
Love your signature.

Unfortunately
The only Green candidates in NY 24 are the first two columns.

Steve's question
This is a good and honest question deserving a good and honest answer. To wit:
Because, by law, somebody must needs occupy those offices; and if the candidates are decent folks, may as well do what you can to get the decent ones in, regardless of which Duopoly organization they've had the bitter misfortune to have to attach themselves to just because they actually want to get those jobs.
Please do remember that we're working to end that particular misfortune for those decent folks -- and, of course, for us.

Wish I could vote straight Green
Green for the following: President, US Senate, NY State Senate
US House: Rep vs Dem. Pissed off at my US house rep (early Hillary super-delegate).
Most likely write-in
NY State House Assembly: Unopposed (Dem,I)
Judges picks not worth mentioning as its pure crap.
Literally all are unopposed
When I was a kid, Republicans used to red scare people, now it's the Democrats. I am getting too damn old for this crap!
I will vote Green
Where I can I will vote Green (here in West Virginia that means Jill and the candidates of The Mountain Party, affiliated with the Green Party). Unfortunately, in my district the ballot has a Lot of races with only Republican candidates. I have decided that in those races I will write in my own name. May explode a few heads (if anyone even notices) but will make whatever sort of statement that makes.
However, I will vote for at least one Democrat who is running for Congress in my district. There is no Green candidate, the Republican who holds that office is a Huge Dick, and the Democratic is a Berniecrat. If he would be half as good as Bernie it is worth the crossover.
I voted for Stein
and maybe 6 appellate court judge races and 2 state races for other positions, so where green was offered, I voted.
I actually sued to get an independent on the write in ballot for a county office, so I wrote in my client.
I voted for a write-in Republican for a judge position, as I know him personally, and admire him to no end, and although one local constable was running unopposed on the Republican ticket, I would take a bullet for him. He is a true friend, one of those police you hope shows up first to diffuse the situation. I felt it important he gets the message he is admired, so under voting didn't feel appropriate.
This is my first time voting for people I have never heard of. Republican judges are disaster, dems not much better.
