Caucus Critters: Moondae Moppets: Les Miz Edition
We'z a diverse group!
Time once again for a musical edition of Moondae Moppets! I get these earworms and must share them! Created a happier ending, though.
But first, The Recommendations:
•Our intent is to create a safe place to relax and play; please use common sense and have fun.
•Share any and all pootie/woozle/furry/feathery/leathery photos or issues that you would like.
•When it comes to problems, we may just have someone with experience who can help.
•If you would like a pic from the posts, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks.
•We love critters, so any/all photos that encourage human violence against an animal will be frowned upon and considered out of bounds!
I dreamed a dream of time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
(My Oreo and Ginger)
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
And they turn your dreams to shame
And still I dreamed he'd come to me
And we would live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
Unless we face the storms together!

Thank you for the fabulous photos and captions, EC! I'm
in the middle of a small project (now), but hope to swing back later, to post about a couple of pet insurance companies that we've dealt with over the past few years.
Have a nice evening, and thanks for Caucus Critters!

Unintended Post--Sorry! EOM
Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
As I was driving home,
pause for clarification, I live in a rural area, 8.5 miles from our little town, as i dropped down tge hill away from "tiwn" toward home, it was getting dark, 6:30 or so, and there was a woman walking on the shoulder. I said, she needs a ride. I can take her 8 miles. I turned around and fetched her. She was walking home from work. She lived in the town 8 miles below me. I took her all the way. She needed it. I needed it.
Have a lovely evening!
ps. thanks for the great pics, ec!

Thanks, RA!
I'm sure your help was much appreciated. What takes a driver 8 minutes (if you can go 60 mph) will take a walker almost 3 hours (typical walking speed 3.1 mph).

Tiger cub pix are cute-thought-generating but Bad Idea.
Many or most zoos now use SPPs (Species Protection Plans), with gene-pool being the Main thing after disease prevention. Keep them healthy, happy, and outbreed constantly. DO Not Bottleneck the gene pool. Is it true that there are more Tigers (various colors) now in wildlife parks in the US than in their short-history realms in the wild? Not the US since saber-tooth tigers.
Conundrum: Why should I pay the $30 to AKC to register my neutered dog? Clonal? I am still thinking that. She IS a purebred-Cairn terrier. But so what? She can't create offspring?
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
America has more tigers in captivity than remain around the
world in the wild, 5000 versus 3200. Unfortunately, only 6% of those are in zoos. Some private ownership is regulated, some is not. It's been up to the states. http://www.worldwildlife.org/stories/more-tigers-in-american-backyards-t...
There is a federal law that would help, but it's in its earliest stages, likely to take a few more years for final passage (if ever), https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/3546
Meanwhile, even some breeders working to save tigers from extinction raise them with dogs and they seem to get along great, http://www.ndtv.com/offbeat/two-tigers-and-
three-dogs-are-the-worlds-most-unlikely-best-friends-1247336 (according to this article this particular place has 28 tigers - is that a big enough gene pool?).
It seems to me that a public-private partnership with tight regulations on private ownership would be best. I assume zoos would not be able to absorb another 4000+ tigers.
As far as your puppy, I would ask the AKC. I can't see the benefit if you're not breeding, but maybe I'm missing something.
