A bushel of bombs

Good morning everyone.
Finished up harvesting the last row of potatoes Sunday. Between the two 50' rows I would estimate three bushels of spuds.
Probably a bushel of corn, 2 bushels of tomatoes, and a bushel of onions so far this year.
Green beans are just starting to produce, mostly because I planted them in between the corn and they just didn't get enough sun. Will try something different next year.
Still trying to mimic the Native American plantings of the Three Sisters: corn, beans, and squash.
Will need to do some more research.
Did plant some pole beans a few weeks ago in pots and they are thriving. Starting to flower now, so will have a small crop of them if the weather holds out.
I planted beans alone last year and they produced for a couple of months.
They just kept on giving. Got maybe a bushel out of those. Still a lot of beans. So many we had to go searchin' for more recipes to use them with.
I think we have a binder full of 'em now.
I see my old homestead in Bouquet Canyon, California is burning. I had 6 acres there in the 80s-90s and was always worried about fires when at work down below in the Valley.
I sold out when the well started going dry at the end of summer. It's where I learned that water is life. No water, no life.
Never looked back.
Our Israeli aligned government is pulling all its bombers from over there and bringing them home.
For safekeeping?
What are we planning to do that would put them in danger over there?
Why not park them in Diego Garcia? I think somethings going to happen after the Israeli election and before the Midterms.
Stay tuned.
Thread is open.

Wasn't aware
of the custom of adding a comment post essay, but here goes.
As I was loading my essay I heard on the radio that Trump had encouraged Iran (iirc) to nuke Los Angeles or San Diego.
This is something so flippant as to merit impeachment. He is actively manipulating Red states against Blue states and trying to spark a civil war.
Every red blooded American should be against this incredibly insensitive and stupid remark.
Proof positive he is anti-American.

The follow up comment assures exposure
your post is on site. For instance, my browser does not show
your open thread, I click on recent essays and see your post.
Perhaps, if you put 'open thread' in the tab box it would show
under Community Content. A bit complicated for my weak mind,
but if the goal is to post with best exposure to various approaches
and therefore establish a conversation, which is after all the purpose
of posting these open threads, I think.
Happy to hear you dug the taters. Hope your back doesn't rebel
too much. Nice fall day here. Hoping to get something done outside.
Made a fire in the wood stove to chase the house chill away. Made
rye starter pancakes this AM, so there is food on hand if ever I get hungry.
Thanks for the OT.

Humm
I tag each one as "open thread" and I always check to make sure it posts.
I usually create the night before and leave a period off the end so I can refresh in the morning to indicate Tuesday morning.
I used to schedule publishing for Tuesday morning but it didn't always work.
So I finish up in the morning and publish.
Thanks for the post.

It's funny, but I almost create days before
and attempt to use the auto publisher which is normally not
a big deal. I put the time to publish at 6 AM, and some of the
time it surfaces at 7 AM or after. I know our early morning crew
here is slim, but after many false attempts, I like to check whatever
is posted in the community content. Generally the banner will show
up there, but I do not know how the audience accesses new content.
Not a big deal. Just fine tuning.
Having an excess of green beans is a good thing IMO. Fry them
with bacon and onions or bake them with sliced taters and garlic, Yum.

I had the same problem
with auto post. I always wanted to post earlier in the day, so y'all back east could read it over breakfast. Or at least not 11 in the morning.
So I just get up at 7:30AM and post 'round 8.
Yeah, being retired allows such hours. For 40 years I got up at 5 AM.
Thanks for the green bean recipe.

Whenever Trump is campaigning he spouts balderdash that
he believes will serve as red meat for his cultish followers.
Often as a result his cleanup crew has to attempt to soften the impact.

Here is his actual statement!
It really is too bad
that nobody in the government has the balls to actually do it. It is getting to the point that civil unrest and violence on a very large scale is becoming inevitable.
This will not end well.
Twice bitten, permanently shy.
Just like our economy
Walking it backward is a small price to pay.
Right? Right?
Except the economy is going great gangbusters for him and his cronies.
And especially his immediate family.
Thanks for stopping by.

Good afternoon, e1!
How's that back feeling this afternoon? Sounds like you had a pretty satisfying harvest.
We are enjoying a toast or two because today we got a crew together and removed my office furniture, equipment, files, and cleaned out the kitchen, all appliances, all closets, and two bathrooms, then JtC did the final mowing and weed eating for the new owners. The property sale closes in the morning.
My first interview with a new client tomorrow afternoon will be a meeting inside the courthouse. Since it is to get some details for a property transaction, it is not confidential. If we get interrupted by someone walking by to stop and say hello, it is no big deal.
I am amazingly not sad or nostalgic. Locking the doors for the last time felt great.
Let us know how e2 is faring, friend.
