Summer Solstice and Basement Kitties

My little tuxedo Princess Pixie has decided that Mommy is going to be okay so she is back sleeping in my room. We are still trying to figure out exactly what happened on the 11th. Reid seems to think it may not have been a seizure that I just blacked out for a moment maybe during an asthma attack. I had obviously started to get up most likely to get my inhaler.

The bruises are starting to fade a bit except for the really bad ones on the arm. Mainly what I feel is tired. I have been overly stressed lately and that Saturday was the pits. I had just spent $400.00 on repairs and was told in the next year or so it will need almost $2,000.00 worth of repairs. I need a new car but with what money?

Today is the Summer Solstice otherwise known as the longest day of the year or in kitty terms "Mom it is still light out so I'm crawling underneath the covers to take my evening nap."

So here is to the seasons and the fact that it gives me an excuse to do art work.

I think I like the winter one best. Especially now, when despite temps in the 80s, Ginger just got up on my lap. Sigh. Perhaps the sight of snow will cool me slightly.

Glad you are feeling better, michele, impossible to ever reconstruct accidents that make full sense to anyone. When I fell it was a blackout for me, but I stiff-armed and refractured my elbow. My dog was at vet in getting ready to die mode, I was at home, waiting to go get him. I have had episodes before of face on the floor. Very unsatisfying. And bloody. None since.

your description of your blackout sounds like a syncope

and agree. That's what some of my earlier episodes were, I was taking bp medication then. When I has my first discernable episode of SVT, I did not faint, but felt woozy. Now on med for that, triggers are cold plus exercise. Also lowered bp. I be careful now.

orthostatic hypotension?

http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/orthostatic-hypotension/ba...

I found myself having dizzy spells and falling occasionally after getting out of bed too quickly. A "tilt table" test will verify, the solution is not necessarily meds but just getting out of bed in the morning (or out of a chair after sitting down for several hours) very gently.

Even better in the daytime: don't sit in one place for more than an hour or two at a time. Get up (slowly) and take a walk around the house, the office (go to a window if you're in a cubicle, etc.) for a good 5-10 minutes.

You can test at home with a blood pressure measurement device. Quality home units are available at reasonable cost.
Orthostatic hypotension ("OH") is defined as a drop in systolic BP of 20 points or more upon standing. So, measure first when reclining, then stand and measure again.

I suffered severe OH as a result of a bad medication, and did faint (syncope) and fall as a result. However, my lapse of consciousness was brief, because once horizontal on the floor, blood rapidly reperfuses the brain.

She has her Angels' Marks (the white spots on a dark or black kitteh). My Chocolate (tortoise-shell) has hers, too, including one really big one!

And Pixie obviously works with Ceiling Cat's side of the Force, just like Chocolate!

strangely I like everything related to autumn most of the time.

Glad to hear that you are healing. Hang in there. I might come back on that picture one day.
