Why does NPR news continue to repeat the lie that there was violence at the Nevada Democratic Convention. Does NPR allow the Clinton Campaign to write it's news stories these days?

No one is talking about Hillary's health problems......

except the far right, and even that is getting little play. There was an article awhile back stating that the press was not allowed to view Hillary getting on or off her plane. The press had to get on their plane first. Which leads to the question - How bad are Hillary's health problems?

Blogger Matt Bruenig was fired from Demos after correctly exposing Joan Walsh as being intellectually dishonest and calling Neera Tanden a scumbag. Actually, he probably should have just called her a hypocrite.

The other day I was thinking about the number of young women in Latin America who pay for their education and/or their living expenses while in college through prostitution. Don't take my word for it, just check out any of the better "locales" in places like Lima, Peru.

A letter written to The Indianapolis News, signed by members of the United Mine Workers of America, defends the Western Federation of Miners which was so viciously attacked recently by The News. The letter was found published in the Socialist section of a newspaper out of Salem, Oregon.

John Atcheson has an outstanding essay on CommonDreams entitled Expecting Sanders Supporters to "Close Ranks?" Definitely a must read. Atcheson very eloquently and persuasively lays out the case as to why so many Sanders supporters see Clinton as a completely unacceptable alternative, and discusses the devolution of the Democratic Party that has brought it to its current sorry state.

Gaming out a Community Strategy

There are a lot of folks talking about the next steps in a progressive political strategy going forward, beside the usual talk about who to vote for in the upcoming elections. Some folks who regularly inhabit the Evening Blues have put forward the idea that the time is ripe for a general community discussion about a community strategy for advancing the interests of the 99%. Outside of our community, there are lots of people and organizations thinking along the same lines.
