Tartans: Street Prophets Thursday Coffee Hour

Welcome to Thursday Coffee Hour. This is an Open Thread so say hi, help yourself to the goodies, and let us know what is new with you. Today's theme is Tartans. Wikipedia defines tartans as:

Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colors. Tartans originated in woven wool, but now they are made in many other materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns.

No Means No

Our rights have been violated. I will not yield. I will not fall in line. I will not ever for any reason ever give one iota of support to that monstrous hydra made up of Clinton and her dirty supporters.
As the grandchild of immigrants who fled Hitler, I will not allow my vote to be corrupted by the specter of Trump when the more urgent threat is spurning the Democratic Party in all it's bloated debauchery.

A proposal for C99 - perhaps a money maker.

We need an app. A GPS-like map app. One that allows us to avoid the worst states in America on a road trip.

Oklahoma
Alleybamey
South Carolina
Kansas

Aridzona might also fit, and we may need probationary status for others, every state with a teaBuggered governator.

I know an app developer. I will ask him what we could do.

The Knucklehead effect

The Chicago City Council's Committee on Human Relations advanced an ordinance to the City Council Floor which will close a loophole in the city's human rights code which could make it difficult for transgender people to access public washrooms.

Under examination was the requirement that people be able to show a government-issued identification card that indicates that their gender matches that indicated for the washroom.

I so wanted to throw my remote control at the television today.

This is just a rant with no links. I'm sorry.

So I'm listening to Thom Hartmann's radio show on TuneIn app on my phone between noon and 1 p.m. EDST today. Thom devoted the first hour of allowing callers to call in and thank Bernie Sanders. Each caller was supposed to call with a quick thank you to Bernie, each caller was identified by area code, and they could give their name and location if they wanted to.

the meaning of life?

Could it be some simple and crappy truth that seems too malicious to actually be? Something like: You’ll never get anywhere “working your way up” or “playing by the rules” because there are too many weak and sniveling fake-it-til-you-make-it people around who will stand in your way and hold you back. The only way is to walk over all of them and go straight to the top, then cut your own deal. Otherwise, you struggle with the rest.

Don't start a Party. Go big. Start a Coalition.

A coalition could have much greater power, almost immediately, than a new Party in a rigged and corrupt political system. Use the right tool and use it well.

A coalition needs a strong central vision or ultimate vision. For example, "a coalition for a better life" or for "stronger citizens" or a "people's coalition." Using its central vision as a sort of test or moral compass, a coalition could throw any election or end the political career of any candidate.

Every Revolution Needs a Convention Of, By & For the People (with video)

I don't know the best way to continue what the Occupy Movement and Black Lives Matter and Bernie helped ignite, a true people's movement: a/k/a a People's Revolution. Do we work to change the Democrats from within or become an outside force for change? I just know one thing. We can't stop.
