I so wanted to throw my remote control at the television today.

This is just a rant with no links. I'm sorry.

So I'm listening to Thom Hartmann's radio show on TuneIn app on my phone between noon and 1 p.m. EDST today. Thom devoted the first hour of allowing callers to call in and thank Bernie Sanders. Each caller was supposed to call with a quick thank you to Bernie, each caller was identified by area code, and they could give their name and location if they wanted to.

In the middle of that hour, Thom noticed Bernie talking at a mic outside the White House (after Bernie met with President Obama) and started playing Bernie's speech.

So I immediately turned on the TV to CNN to see and hear Bernie. As always, Bernie was just terrific. He talked about what our country needs to do, which you all already know what's needed, and said he was holding a rally tonight in DC, and will be campaigning for the election being held next Tuesday.

Bernie said one of his major issues of the DC campaign is fighting for statehood with representation of residents. He said Vermont and DC have approximately the same amount of residents but that Vermont has two Senators and one Representative.

Bernie finished his speech and turned and walked back into the White House while reporters were yelling questions at him.

Ashley Banfield on CNN then did what every "anchor" does, she repeated what Bernie just said, but I already knew what he said because I listened to him. Duh. But at least her recounting of his speech was pretty decent, I think.

Then Ashley threw it to some young woman at the White House, who dramatically set her body stance to begin speaking. We were making of fun of how silly she looked. But then she spoke. She called today Bernie's last hurrah, and then had the audacity to say, "I'm surprised that Bernie didn't take any questions."

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. She said a few more horrible and wrong things, but I was too angry to remember all of them.

Hillary didn't take any questions for over 180 days but yet this stupid woman with a mic standing at the White House was "surprised" Bernie didn't take any questions, especially when Bernie most always takes questions, over and over and over again for over a year.

I've calmed down now, but I just can't stand the traditional media anymore.

WASHINGTON — President Obama on Thursday formally endorsed Hillary Clinton and called her the most qualified candidate to seek the White House, imploring Democrats to come together to elect her after a bruising party primary.

In a video posted on Mrs. Clinton’s Facebook page, Mr. Obama said, “I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/10/us/politics/obama-hillary-clinton-endo...

So in other words he's saying, hey, I pulled one over on all of you. Remember you voted for me to be president? Well, yeah, I wasn't qualified, only Hillary was.

What a stupid, stupid comment he made.

I guess FDR was a piker.

well, big words, nice and civil, wishy-washing over something apparently everybody is forgetting.

He said that Sanders has brought the young people into the process of voting and triggered their enthusiasm. I can only say that I have met more old people, fifty up to eighty years old, who are all going to support Sanders, because for the first time there is a consistent socialist democrat candidate, who takes the 'little people's" need to be treated equal very serious. Equality, not according to their gender or race divided into a little bit more equal than the others, no, equality for all all in the same manner.

I am old and a woman, I don't vote for Hillary, because she has proven that she tries to deal with people on the basis of gender and race and "opportunities" differently without really seeking the equality she claims to be after. I was waiting for Elizabeth Warren to show her true colors. I liked her but am not happy she endorses Clinton. Why? What for? No courage?

I don't get those Democrats, really.

I don't know how I would go forward, if I were Bernie. He should run as indipendent and build a coalition with the Green Party and the Socialist Democrats. I don't know how this is practically done in this awful system. If I were Bernie, I would build my cabinet, announce the people he would be working with as a President, and run with the whole bunch up front as an independent. He shouldn't be shy to go into coalitions with people from very diverse corners of the existing small party spectrum.

Tell people precisely what you are going to do and then stick with it, no matter what.

I guess Sanders' arguments have fallen on deaf ears. As expected. Soldier on. Let them have a conniption over his refusal to concede. Let everyone vote and then count each one (and that includes the convention). Keep pointing out the machine that has been working for the annointed (and against any challengers) one since the last election. That's the Sanders way!

How can I vote for her? To cast my one and only vote for Hillary Clinton, I would have to ignore:

* Her $250,000 an hour speeches to Wall Street firms.
* Her total support for the Trans Pacific Partnership (until this year).
* The pay-to-play scheme between Hillary's State Dept and foreign governments who donated to the Clinton Foundation.
* Her lies. From white lie weasel words to flat out whoppers.
* Her votes on the PATRIOT Act and the invasion of Iraq, a foreign nation that had done us no harm.
* Henry Kissinger. 'nuff said.
* Honduras. 'nuff said, again.
* Her refusal to support marriage equality until the polls made it clear that a large majority of Americans supported it.
* The fact that she and a number of subordinates are currently the subject of an FBI investigation.

These are just the first few off the top of my head, after thinking for about 5 minutes. I can't pretend that all of this, and so much more, does not exist. How is so very easy for Hillary supporters to pretend it's not there?

You did better than I could because so many things would pile up in five minutes that I wouldn't be able to type them all, especially as one just leads to a new one.

That is why the media blitz of lies. They are ordering us into The Collective.

There are many studies of the effectiveness of the media to sway people's thinking and actions. If it didn't work, advertising would be nearly non-existent.

And remember: Obama's 2008 campaign won some advertising industry awards conning us into electing a "moderate 1985 Reagan Republican" by making us think he was a liberal Democrat. Of course, McCain and Palin made that job fairly easy.

Those same advertising people are now working their vile magic on the voters to "convert" them for Hillary. It just isn't working very well yet. They know that if they keep it up long enough, they will get what they are after.

watching any corporate media, even local, is just aggravating if you recognize the slant and the narratives and the bullshit and the propaganda. The sooner you reject it and stop watching completely, the better. It only takes a few minutes watching cnn or msnbc on election day to remind you that almost nothing they say or show has any connection to reality. Truth doesn't serve their interests, nor does information.

I thought he said he would NOT be campaigning in DC but he did support statehood for them. He said he was still waiting for CA. He cannot control his supporters, and he knows it. If Bernie or anyone else expect any kind of support whatsover, they are going to have to come up with a really spectactular deal that includes Bernie's and his agenda and not on some crappy platform.

I cannot recall seeing Obama say anything about election fraud. Maybe someone else has and I just missed it, but I think it would have made at least a little noise. The convention is not over, so once again trying to subvert the fact that half of the people of the US voted for or tried to vote for Sanders. Obama must be in a real rush to hit the speaking circuit. Bet he gets paid more than HRC...man, you know.
