A couple days ago I showed how Dems that moved to the right have gotten massacred in the elections, while progressive candidates have survived the onslaught.
In that essay there was one study that stood out in my mind.
Their is a lot of talk about whats wrong with US elections, and sadly to much of it is center one of two parts of the system rather then the entire process, It is rather disturbing how little security our elections have, and its not just the voting machines, or the tabulation machines, or the county ran database that swaps every ones party affiliation so that prechosen candidates can win. Its not enough to complain about an issue however so I want to outline what we can do about it.
Too many liberals and Democrats seem obsessed with talking about Donald Trump all the time. It's all about the latest crazy thing Trump says or does and why he is the worst person ever.
I know that I have been writing a lot more than usual. I am generally not the type of person who shares a lot of my opinions in long, written rants. But I am currently going through one of my phases where politics seems to be on my mind constantly.
An ad for something I don't remember said of a spelling bee, in passing as the bee was going on in the background and the ad wasn't for literacy, "...like words you don't need to use anymore" of a four syllable word "ambrosia." That celebrates pig ignorance, encourages pride in stupidity. The ad was, I *think, for food Fast food. Non-GMO poison. Utterly non-nutritious (oh my, another 3-1/2 to 4 syllable word) crap that people use to fill their guts that they don't have to learn how to prepare for themselves. Crap that costs them more than twice what it would if they made it from scratch. Bad nutrition. A veritable (that's four syllables, folks) PAEAN - hymn of praise, not to a deity but to a word, "food". IOW, it's not only a "word you don't need to use anymore" but also ::gasp!:: heresy.
