Jimmy Dore Blows the Doors off the Democratic Party Tonight

Yup, I like Jimmy Dore and the Jimmy Dore Show... but tonight he was on fire. I am talking 10 videos, all of them worth watching, and if you follow Jimmy, this is actually quite a rare event, so I guess he had a few things on his mind... not only that, but they are almost all about the election, the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton and her cabal of losers.

Let's talk about September 11th.

No, not that September 11th. I mean September 11th, 1973, when the CIA, ITT corporation, Nixon and Kissinger coordinated a military coup overthrowing a democratically-elected regime under Salvador Allende and imposing the world's first genuinely neoliberal government under a junta headed by Augusto Pinochet. So okay here's the death toll:

Neoliberalism Is Dead

At least in academic circles according to Joseph Stiglitz:

Asked by Business Insider whether he thought the economic consensus surrounding neoliberalism was coming to an end, Stiglitz argued: "I can talk about this from the point of view of academia or even in policy circles. In academia, I think it has pretty well become rejected.

We need to demand realignment, not a third party.

I think we ought to be referring to our ultimate goal as that of "realignment." "Third party" is the phrase the Establishment to denigrate our cause and pronounce us as insignificant. Ideally we should want the Green Party to be a second party; the Democratic Party will be the other national party, absorbing the Clintonites and the establishment Republicans under one banner (hint: they're already doing this now).

The returns are still coming in, and there is much debate on who backed what and why, who said what to whom, and so on. But preliminary data tells us that the biggest forces behind the Brexit campaign, and the people crowing about it the loudest, with exceptions, are on the far right, and they used strong appeals to racism, xenophobia, even homophobia to get what they wanted.

Good Morning, 99%'ers!

As many of you may already know, Thomas Frank has a new book out titled, Listen Liberal: Or Whatever Happened to the Party of the People. In this book, Frank examines how the Democratic Party abandoned its traditional commitments to the working class, the poor, and those in the greatest need.

Neoliberalism: A Greater Threat to Humanity Than Communism Ever Was

Soviet-style communism failed because in practice it didn't come close to delivering what it promised in theory. The only way it could perpetuate itself was through brutal suppression of any political opposition. But with the advent of modern communications technology, the reality that western-style economic systems delivered a far superior lifestyle to the great majority of citizens became impossible to conceal from the masses.
