liars

Buying the vote.

I call bullshit. I also know that it takes more than 51 votes (counting kambama) to make anything happen in the senate as it currently is governed.
No different than trump.

"The debate over $2,000 isn't some abstract debate in Washington. This is about real lives," Biden said. "If you send Jon and the reverend to Washington, those $2,000 checks will go out the door, restoring hope and decency and honor for so many people who are struggling right now."

On Bullshit and Bullshit Detectors

NOTE: The following is not aimed at anyone at Caucus99percent. I'd say the audience here is considerably more immune to bullshit than most – not that any of us are entirely immune. Some bullshit is obvious and some is sneaky – but it's every-fucking-where. This is just a riff on the subject. I'm publishing it here in the spirit of a Public Service Announcement...or for some other reason I can't remember.

Lies, Lies and Damned Lies

"I have certain rules I live by. My first rule: I don't believe anything the government tells me". George Carlin

Remember the good old days of Samantha Power and Colin Powell? Like with Trump as president, just when you think it can't get any worse, along comes Nikki Haley, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Trump wasn't Turned by the Deep State, He's just a Fricking Liar

After the fifth online article I read today claiming how Donald Trump has been "turned (by the deep state), persuaded (by the deep state), has had a change of heart", etc., I decided to go on a rant. Confucius say, "rants are good for the soul".

Why I'm voting for the Liar and not the Liar

My son has a best friend named Stanley who's parents were born in Ecuador. One day during this election cycle, at the very impressionable age of 12, Stanley caught wind of the statements made by Trump about immigrants. Stanley's parents are both hard working people and like many immigrants do not speak English that well and Stanley translates much of the time for them.

OT 9/10/15 - The End of Politics

At the end of 2014 I met Don Midwest here in Portland. I had to cut our discussion short because I was coming down with a two week flu. I wondered if I'd survive it. Apparently I did. In any case, Don talked about Naomi Klein, about being involved, and working for change. I felt then that there was little hope that anything would ever get better unless the whole structure fell apart.

Now, 8+ months later, I feel that even more.
