My fellow Berniecrats, Berniacs, Berners, or whatever else you call yourselves: I know today is frustrating. It was always going to be frustrating, at least through today.
Though we've lost some states today, the margins matter, and it looks like we will do better than expected in some cases. But in all, through today was always going to be our toughest slog. This is her finest hour this primary season, and that hour is coming to a close.
As the Illinois Democratic approaches, I find myself increasingly optimistic about Bernie Sanders' chances. I don't claim to have any hard data. I was talking with an Illinois State University professor whose insight and expertise I trust. He says there really isn't any hard polling data that he to which he has access. I base my analysis on some broad impressions of the arc of Democratic politics the past several years.
Say it loud. Say it proud.
America has elected a Democratic Socialist to the office of President before. Many times.

One of these Democratic Socialists was elected President more than anyone else. Say it loud. Say it proud.
Who led America out of economic destruction brought about by far-right greed? A Democratic Socialist.
STOP telling your opponents that Party comes before the President.
STOP being a "good" Colonist on the American Plantation.
Tell your opponents that if they believe in "Party first," they they better evolve from Hillary to Bernie, real quick like. The only pathway to victory for the Democratic Party goes though Bernie Sanders.
If you have the courage of your convictions — it really is that simple to win.
