Got another heat wave coming today and for the next 3 days. Low 90s an toppin' 100 Wednesday or Thursday.
To make matters worse, smoke from multiple wildfires will fill the valleys and hills all the way to the coast.
Nowhere to go to escape it. Will have to come up with some indoor chores or projects to do in the AC and clean air.
The morning sun has an orange hue that is surreal looking. The local news informs we are to expect more of this for the foreseeable future, as fire season has only just begun.
I'm surprised these fires have not been blamed on Iran, China, or Russia. They seem to be blamed for every unfortunate disaster or hack perpetrated on us poor innocent Americans.
I recall the Japanese sent incendiary balloons (Fu-go airships) across the Pacific during WW2 and actually succeeded in starting some forest fires and causing the deaths of a pregnant woman and five kids.
The fires were quickly contained because of wet and damp conditions across the PNW at the time . Not so these days.
A swarm of them today would cause havoc and destruction all across the nation.
A perfect false flag to implicate North Korea, Russia, or China.
Hopefully I just doused that idea. But I wouldn't put anything past the machinations of the Orangeman administration.

On a bright note, millions of acres of Russian tundra are thawing out for farming and industries. Climate change is benefitting our arch-enemy. We should do some thing about that as it's a pressing national security issue.

I still can't understand how a private company seeded the clouds just preceding the historic rains and floods in The Texas Hill Country, but they not to put out the wildfires?
We have the way and the means to cause rain.
Anyway, I am sure China is responsible for all the wildfires.
Well, our August has not turn deadly hot yet. Yesterday morning, I opened up the windows to let in the morning breeze about 7:30. I almost grabbed a sweater.

We had a wildfire
break out in the Sam Houston Nat'l Forest last year. As the crow flies, it would have been approximately 25 miles from my home. We had smokey skies for several days. It was contained the first day, but took maybe a week to get it put out.
That's pretty much nothing compared to what you all are going through.
Everyone was warned to stay inside, but nobody wanted to go out and breathe in that smoke to being with.

There are several major fires
burning through Washington and Oregon, but the Spokane blaze is by far the most catastrophic.
There has been an arrest in the Spokane fire.
Many in Oregon were lightning sparked from thunderstorms last week.

When listening to the report on NPR
...on the radio yesterday, about the mass evacuations from the fires in and around the Spokane area, the reporter was emphasizing the traumatic psychological effect upon those fleeing the natural disaster. The impact on one's health can be long lasting. I hope the local, state, and feebs, keep their commitments to those now in need.
Wish all affected the best possible outcomes. Who has the resources for these interminable wars, with these environmental disasters, one after another?

Most of those people fleeing
are like me, thinking it can't happen here in suburbia.
Whole tracts of homes light-off and spread like canopy fires from one to the next. It's why California banned wooden shake shingle roofing way back when.
We still have some shake roofs here in the PNW, installed back in the last century when the logging industry still reined supreme. Mostly old apartment buildings.
I have removed 4 very large Douglas Fir trees from my modest (9k sq. ft.) lot as they were to volatile hanging over my house. Once torched-off they burn really hot as the needles are quite oily.
I still have a 30' row of Arbor Vitale which are even oilier.
Of course, the 2 cords of firewood stacked along the fence will not help matters at all.
I'm more prepared to flee.

We finally got some substantial rain here where we are. The landscape in the immediate area has turned green again, that is the part that didn't die during our little drought. The air quality improved a bit too.

Saw an article alleding that Centcom is actually polling the troops for new and/or clever ideas to use to attack and unish Iran. Heh. I especially like that they want to punish them?
