I'm often guilty of thinking that the enemy of an anti-war movement is being pro-war. I now believe the bigger enemy of peace is willful ignorance and selfish indifference.

Sunday will mark a very special anniversary.

Friday was the International Day of Peace. Friday also saw a breakthrough in Afghan peace talks. For the first time, the Taliban and Afghan government will sit at the same table.

In late 2017 the International Criminal Court began collecting testimony for prosecuting war crimes that happened in Afghanistan during our 16 years of occupation. They probably didn't expect what would happen.

America's primary ally in Syria, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), is preparing to negotiate with the Assad government of Syria.

Last month the peace marchers finished their 430-mile journey in Kabul. If anyone still doubted the strength of their convictions, they soon put those doubts to rest.

There were only eight of them when the march started.
They carried no weapons, little money, and even fewer supplies. They relied entirely on the kindness of strangers for food and a place to sleep. Everywhere they stopped they shared their stories of tragedy and hardship, and hundreds of locals would gather to listen and share their own stories.
Because there is no place untouched by war in Afghanistan.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis recently said, “We do look toward a victory in Afghanistan.”
Last week's official report says the opposite.
