Well as you can see a water pipe burst. This was easily understandable. It's a water pipe in a exterior wall, with no insulation. They tore out the entire sink area last night and there was no insulation, at all, for anything.

Well, the Perseverance rover has landed successfully on Mars, and now begins the multi-day activating of systems, upgrading the software on the rover from its "traveling in space and landing" software to the actual surface operations software, and testing things out. This will take the next 10 days or so.

On his substack a few days ago, Matt Taibbi asked his readership: "I want to do a book review. What should I review?" In response, it appears that the most vocal portion of his readership voiced their support for "greats" such as Ayn Rand and Jordan Peterson.

Rev. Campbell was reportedly the only white person present at the founding in 1957 of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the civil rights organization then led by Martin Luther King Jr. and other major figures in the movement. Initially, some of the black organizers argued against admitting him.

“Let this man in,” said Bayard Rustin, one of the leaders, according to an account published in the Nashville Tennessean. “We need him.”

When King was assassinated in 1968 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Rev. Campbell rushed to the scene. Photos captured by a photographer for Life magazine show him standing, weary and seemingly dumbstruck, on the hotel balcony and grieving with the black leaders left to carry on.

Later, Rev. Campbell drew criticism from some in the civil rights movement when he visited James Earl Ray, King’s assassin, in prison, and when he ministered to a Ku Klux Klan grand dragon in jail.

I came across these three videos by Massive Attack today. But can any of this stuff happen simply / magically through individual, corporate, and/or govenmental enlightenment? Without class struggle?

That's what they want you to think, anyway. Today they are holding a live hearing to grill some of the players in the recent Game Stop/Reddit/Robinhood short squeeze saga.

There is a lot to unpack in this whole story. I have been following it pretty closely since it broke loose and I have learned a lot that I never had any idea about.
