"Let Us Entertain You..." DNC Strategy emerges
Submitted by NYCVG on Thu, 08/20/2020 - 7:00amIs it possible that the DNC strategy is to beat Trump at his own game? Here's what I mean: If you can see that Trump won, at least in part, on his entertainment value and on his "I can/will fix everything" lies, then what the DNC has been doing starts to make some sense.

During the 2016 Bernie campaign we opened a campaign office and people showed up. It was chaotic and there was a sense of urgency. Things were moving fast. The California primary was late in the game then, and people from all over the US showed up at our door, willing to work. We found beds and food for them. People showed up at the office with snacks, rides, paper, packs of voter reg whatever. It just happened. Things got done.

Let's stop being "progressives"
Submitted by Cassiodorus on Thu, 08/20/2020 - 1:23amOkay, so you all know by now that the Democratic Party has become Republican Party Two and that there's nothing for "progressives" but vote-shaming between here and November. "Baby steps." "Incrementalism."

There's the time we spent hundreds of millions of dollars building a rebel army, only to see that rebel army immediately turn their weapons over to Al Qaeda and throw away their uniforms.

“In Queenstown — a picturesque ski spot that often attracts comparisons to Aspen, Colorado — rumors about foreigners investing in apocalypse-proof bunkers have been swirling for years.
Queenstown residents are skeptical about whether the secret, underground hideaways are actually as prevalent as such allusions would suggest. Unlike in the United States or Europe, where bunkers are frequently photographed and written about, there’s scant evidence to prove that any bunkers have actually been installed.
