Eggs and the Fight

Recently Matt Stoller's newsletter, Big, started a series of articles about the egg 'crisis' here in the USA and the entities behind it. It's a very good couple of articles, written by Basel Musharbash. The first article is entitled 'Hatching a Conspiracy: A BIG Investigation into Egg Prices'. The second article, 'Fowl Play: How Chicken Genetics Barons Created the Egg Crisis' goes into the two, yes only two, companies that control chicken genetics and the production of egg laying hens.

The Weekly Watch

Signals Crossed

Open Thread Image.jpg

The MSM has focused on "signal gate" this week. What I find ironic is the focus is that it was leaked (probably given) to a reporter (of sorts), but no outrage at the content of the messages....We're gonna kill a bunch of civilians to send Iran a message. Pepe is in Yemen this week and he explains the nature of the society in clips below the fold. The US and Russia reached an agreement for a Black Sea Ceasefire, but the European chihuahuas are refusing to come to heel. They refuse peace. Here in the US it seems people are Trump cultists or Trump deranged fanatics with little in between. The MSM has done their best to divide us along those lines. Meanwhile we are deporting pro-Palestinian foreigners. The first amendment obviously has been discarded. Judge Nap has a piece on the history of free speech.
“I disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it.” — Voltaire (1694-1778). All that and more below the fold...

Jimmy concurs no one is covering the substance of the leak...another illegal war (~12 min)

Album of the Week 3-29-25

Afternoon folks!

This week we've got a bunch of good stuff, starting out with a couple of classic albums. The first is John Lee Hooker and Canned Heat's early 70's double album and then there's an Etta James album from 1960. Following that is an album from the somewhat obscure rock 'n roller Roy Head followed by a more recent album from a fellow local to me, Big Joe Maher, who is an excellent drummer and vocalist. After that there's some Funkadelic and a somewhat peculiar but amusing album from King Curtis. You may think you know country music, but you ain't heard nothin' until you hear King Curtis do Tumblin' Tumbleweeds. Heh. After that we've got some rock from Alvin Lee (formerly of Ten Years After) and we finish up with some prog rock from Gentle Giant.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!
