You know the world is in trouble when Kissinger is the voice of reason

Henry Kissinger will soon turn 100, proving that like Dick Cheney, evil men seem to live forever.
While Kissinger is mostly remembered for winning the Nobel Peace Prize for Vietnam while committing genocide in Cambodia, I prefer to remember his comments to the Iraqi Kurds just one year later, who he has inspired to revolt against Saddam Hussein and were being slaughtered.
“Promise them anything, give them what they get, and fuck them if they can’t take a joke.”

Vacaville man is blind, homeless and schizophrenic. Why can't California help him?

“I think that’s him,” Linda Privatte says as we creep down Monte Vista Avenue, looking in all the usual spots for her younger brother, James Mark Rippee, who has been living on the streets right around the Solano County Building here for 15 years now. It is Mark, kneeling beside the 7-Eleven, feeling around on the sidewalk for the debit card he keeps losing.

First They Came for Bannon, Jones, and Trump

I don't care if you like these figures or not, you should be concerned about the perversion of law to attack people who are targets of the "deep state". Isn't it interesting how obviously guilty Hunter skates as the law is used and even stretched to persecute these people on the right. I'm not sure when the deep state/CIA/FBI married the DNC, but "Russiagate", the lack of prosecution of Hillary, and election engineering make obvious the connection. Hillary nor Biden could fill a room, when both Bernie and Trump were filling auditoriums and stadiums. Many Dims accept they were cheated in the 2000 election in Florida, and 2004 in Ohio, but can't fathom that Trump was cheated in 2020. Now I'm not saying he was, but I'm open minded about the possibility.

Album of the Week - 8-13-22

Afternoon folks!

Well, there's albums by Otis Redding and Chuck Berry. There's also a great album of Albert King and Otis Rush tunes that Youtube mysteriously split into 3 playlists - go figure! Rounding things out, there's another Savoy Brown album and a double live album by the Climax Blues Band.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the tunes!

Welcome to Saturday's Potluck - 8-13-2022

This year I will be be celebrating the end of the dog days of summer. the heat has been intense. The last time I had to set up water cooling sites for livestock was the late 1970's during an intense drought. Many similarities with the weather cycle of several decades ago. Some of the agricultural irrigation systems with junior water rights had to decrease or stop water deliveries, then and now.

The primary difference is the population has increased by at least 500%. The increased infrastructure to support the population and business growth creates more demand on surface and underground water sources. Urban growth area is expanding with new buildings, roads, paved driveways and parking lots absorbing and storing heat during the day to release at night.

Friday Night Photos Past, Present, and Future Edition

Happy Friday everyone. As always, post any photos you like.

On Tuesday the camera club I'm in had it's monthly outing at the San Diego Automotive Museum. I think they should change their name to San Diego Automotive and Motorcycle Museum since they have more motorcycles on display than automobiles.
As automobiles go, I like our past and I like our present. Can't say I like our future.

Everybody have a great weekend, stay cool in this heat and drive safe.
