I've been reading up over at naked capitalism. I figure that's as good a place to get an idea of the realities as any, and the discussions there are certainly interesting, and happily, very much accessible to laymen. In a nutshell: It's complex and complicated. I believe the political implications of brexit could be far reaching. It seems to be a reaction to political and economic conditions made possible by TPTB inadvertently giving people an avenue to express their displeasure with the status quo. People elsewhere in Europe have been pushing back too, and all of this certainly has its parallels here in the good ol' US of A. Naturally, I've ignored any kind of US corporate media blab about it, since it's all just airheads parroting their masters' proclamations anyway... There was a link to a Guardian article in one of the forums that I decided to share, since so many conditions in the UK parallel conditions here. I thought, with a few minor edits, it could maybe have been written here some time in the near future, except that we don't get any exit vote - at least not that we've figured out to date. Apparently, parallels to the Sanders and trump movements are popping up elsewhere. Seems like an opportunity.
