Careful readers may remember that while I have studied at many institutions, none of them were the University of Michigan or Michigan State. They hate each other with the white hot passion of a thousand burning suns. The only things they have in common is, well... Michigan of course, a mutual hatred of Ohio State that exceeds their disdain for each other, and Leonard Falcone.
Well, perhaps I should amend the above because I was a student of his in a summer music program at Michigan State (he thought, correctly, I was hopeless) but I'm sure my schadenfreude about any U of M misstep is transmitted genetically through my parents, Richard and Emily, who met at State. Go Spartans!

I always thought, despite its drawbacks, Twitter's commitment to free speech of its users was commendable. Sure, no user on a private site is guaranteed the right to say or do whatever they want and can be censored at discretion of the owners/managers. But the recent upgrade to the 'block' feature, as well as more aggressive policing of hate speech, was at least a start for Twitter.
It was a vision for the future, once which would have made the entire planet a very different place today had it been realized.
WindDancer 13's post, What the Media Would Like Us to Believe, looks at just one of the false visions We the People are expected to believe, in part so that we don't upset the profitably rotten corporatist apple cart. There are many more.
