The Federal Records Act, FOIA, and those pesky Email "Records"

Perhaps one of the harshest critiques hurled at presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, by the current State Dept Inspector General, was this:

"At a minimum, Secretary Clinton should have surrendered all emails dealing with Department business before leaving government service and, because she did not do so, she did not comply with the Department's policies that were implemented in accordance with the Federal Records Act."

Any Government Employee knows (should know) that everything you do as a Government Employee IS, and one day will (presumptive) become 'a permanent' Public Record. That is what the National Archives is all about. This is because you are working on the public's dime, so the public "has a right to know" what you are actually doing. In theory anyways ... that is what the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is supposed to be all about -- the public's "right to know" ... holding our Government "accountable", ... Sunshine is the best disinfectant, etc. etc.

Clinton Should Be Disqualified From Seeking Office, at Minimum

As the Washington Post has reported, the Clintons went from being, as Hillary Clinton has said, “dead broke” upon leaving the White House in January 2000, to earning some $230 million by this year —

The Clinton's have sold their collective souls to the Oligarchs who have "BRIBED THEM".

This in my mind disqualifies them since they do not put the country before their own averse.

Jill Stein in Rolling Stone. Shocking!

Shocker! There's a rather good article on Jill Stein and the Greens in this issue of Rolling Stone. The owner endorsed Hillary, so that's why this article is surprising. Tessa Stuart presents Stein as "the feminist case against Hillary Clinton" and gives Jill space to present her platform (renewable fuels, $15 minimum wage, equal pay, LGTB rights, free tuition, medical care for all), which aligns perfectly with Bernie.

Alternative news

In response to a recent diary in which the integrity and ideology of Der Spiegel was raised, I would suggest the following site as another viewpoint, a site the ideology of which is hard to miss. Sometimes, the site proposes a different viewpoint, coming from a Marxist analytical tradition. It is not the only one out there, but my time is limited.

Opening up the Democratic Party

This primary season (as well as the previous ones) has shown clearly how the establishment (the two parties, media, corporations, status quo politicians, etc.) has opposed and unfairly hindered Bernie Sander's campaign for nomination. This is not a new phenomena and has been going on in previous elections as well.

Judicial Watch releases first emailgate deposition transcript

Judicial Watch, a private, non-profit, extremely conservative organization may be well to right of many Progressives, but one thing is for sure: they are bipartisan in their exposure of corruption. As many may know, Judicial Watch which has filed dozens of Freedom of Information Acts (FOIA) against the state department and Hillary Clinton, has been granted the ability to conduct civil depositions under oath by top Clinton aides as well as Clinton herself.
