Progressives, Money and Taxes:

If I were a better writer, I'd write an ongoing series called something like: "What Progressives Need to Know About Money". Unfortunately, I'm not a very good writer and am sort of lazy to boot.

However, it pains me everyday to see progressives continuously falling into the neoliberal/austerian trap of either asking how stuff might get paid for or merely assuming that in order to have nice social stuff we have to tax someone, hopefully the wealthy.

It's oh-ohnly make beeee-leeee-eeeve.

Is media finally about to clean and jerk the rock under which Hillary lives, even Joan Walsh, of all members of the media, who appears frequently on MSNBClinton, of all networks? I'm guessing it's only make believe (but please enjoy the gratuitous Olympics-inspired reference, anyway).

Does Hillary Clinton have post-concussion syndrome? What this is and why it matters

This is my fourth essay on Hillary Clinton's neuropathology. Once again, I have not received any factually-based rebuttal. And once again, I fervently request that independent evaluators (by which I mean, no connection to Clintons, CGI, or DNC) review this work. As far as speculation is concerned, I freely admit to that charge. The only thing which will validly contravene my speculation are facts.

The Perfect Republican Candidate MD@NYT

So, I am not, nor never have been, a fan of Maureen Dowd. I think she's pretty close the to the definition of what's wrong with the main stream media.

She's also notorious for what we formerly called HDS (Hillary Derangement Syndrome) but which we now know as HRS (Hillary Reality Syndrome).

But when she is right, she is right, and she does an excellent job of laying out points that most of us here agree on in her new NYT editorial.

Rolling Stone Shills for Hill

Rolling Stone magazine has published an editorial endorsing Hillary Clinton written by the prominent historian Sean Wilentz of Princeton University. Wilentz, reportedly a long time friend of the Clintons, praises Hillary in the strongest terms, saying she would "carry on the Democratic Party's progressive traditions and transform America." Wilentz goes on to give a highly selective account of what President Hillary Clinton would offer America.

My Gut Reaction: I suspect that Wilentz has a slightly different definition of progressive than I do.

More below the fold....
