What could be more important than voting?

The answer should be simple but due to the spell elections cast on people's minds it seems not to be. We now have had the hottest month recorded history. Meanwhile very little is being done to keep it from getting much worse. Can you deal with this?

This will be short because it has been said and ignored too many times. "Ignored" you say? Not me! I'm a good guy. I vote the right way and do all things green things. Guess what? I mean YOU.

First things first: although the Building & Loan has for the nonce been saved, and George (a.k.a. Johnny), he does not now have to go into the prison, all is, not yet, not Saved, from Lost.

Because, while the people have kicked in roughly $3000 to the caucus99 kitty, and further pledged some $855 per month, so that Johnny does not elsewhere have to earn his crust, still, that latter figure, it is but one-fourth the amount Johnny said he requires, or one-half that of which he has said he might, with, settle.

So. Let us open our hymnals. And proceed first to this Dallasdoc canticle, and next to this davidincleveland evensong. There, let us give. And give generously.

Hast thou given? Okay, then. On with the show.

Wandering Through Philadelphia (part 1)

My Journey to Philly Begins

Getting There

Months ago, I decided that I would be in Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention purely to be part of a ‘million voter march’ to make sure that Bernie would get the Democratic nomination. When Senator Sanders gave his endorsement to the anti-democrat, Hillary Clinton, I almost caved into my overwhelming depression and considered giving up the trip. A ‘vacation’ seemed to be a waste of money and effort – I was only going for the protests and what good would that be after he had already endorsed HRC?

Things I'm not sick of hearing about.

Been thinking, and there's been a lot of talk from certain quarters about things that are "Settled". They've been discussed, they've been kicked around enough and we need to move on.

And I was thinking, I'm not sick about hearing about these things. In fact, they aren't nearly discussed enough. I'd like a bit more discussion on these settled topics, and I'd like the candidates to talk about them.

Dural sinus thrombosis--Hillary had it--and the damage it may have done

This is the fifth essay in my series of why Hillary Clinton has brain damage. I was still trying how to figure this out--the best way to present often highly technical information to a lay audience (although I know that there are other physicians here). In some essays I presented in the text relatively little cut-and-paste from journal articles, although I did link to them. In other essays I presented text extensively from cited journal articles.

Wonkette: Rape Is Forgivable...If You're Bill Clinton

Warning: Potential Triggers

Rebecca Schoenkopf, on the Democratic blog Wonkette, has published an article suggesting that Juanita Broaddrick's rape allegations against Bill Clinton, dating back to 1979, may in fact be true. As Schoenkopf writes:

Her friends found her with bruised lips, crying, right after the rape allegedly occurred. That’s what we call “contemporaneous evidence” when we believe women.

I can absolutely see Bill Clinton doing this (then, not now) and not even thinking of it as rape, but thinking of it as dominant, alpha sex. I can see a LOT of men doing that during that time period, before we started telling them in the ’80s, “hey, that is rape, do not do that.” I can see YOUR NICE GRANDPA doing that, back then.

Reading these quotes, you might be tempted to ask: Does Schoenkopf reconsider her support for the Clintons? Failing that, does she at least change her attitude towards Bill Clinton? The answer, alas, is no. Instead, we get a lecture on how good men can commit rape and should not be stigmatized for it.

My Gut Reaction: Hey, at least he's not a "serial rapist" who "hates women and wants to punish them." He's just a nice grandpa type of rapist.
