(this is what true obscenity looks like): Bloomberg Billionaires Index

FIRST: it was just my bad luck (and now yours) that I ran across this article today. Rampant, blatant greed disgusts me,

SECOND: I have no problem with ‘wealth’. I agree hard work and being a good citizen and neighbor (not sliding out of the right vagina) should be rewarded. ‘Incentive’ is a big part of human nature and human nature (usually) responds well to being rewarded. But for some, there isn’t enough. There will never be enough. And what they do have, they use it against the rest of us. Generally to get even ‘more’ for themselves.

As of Oct. 17, 2017

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index is a daily ranking of the world’s richest people. Details about the calculations are provided in the net worth analysis on each billionaire’s profile page. The figures are updated at the close of every trading day in New York.

Look around. Wars, everywhere. Natural disasters all around us. People sick without medical care. World-wide hunger and homelessness.

And these people just keep getting richer and richer throughout all the misery. Some BECAUSE of all the misery. And they do not care. Everything is all about and all for them.

But some people are left off the list. The real wealth hides in the shadows.

However, the Rothschilds’ fortune is distributed among many family members so that it couldn't be tracked. You should add here their influence on supra-national affairs and businesses, and you may get a hint why Forbes won’t list them all.

According to Investopedia:

Although the family wealth has been divided among many descendants and heirs throughout the years, the Rothschilds still rank among the wealthiest lineages in the world. It is estimated that the Rothschild family controls more than $2 trillion worth of assets. Today, their holdings span a number of diverse industries, including financial services, real estate, mining, energy and even charitable work. There are a few Rothschild-owned financial institutions still operating in Europe, including N M Rothschild & Sons Ltd in the United Kingdom, and Edmond de Rothschild Group in Switzerland. The family also owns more than a dozen wineries in North America, Europe, South America, South Africa and Australia.

I think we’ve reached a tipping point. Greed is out of control. The wealthy don’t even have the sense (after so many previous examples) to throw the plebs some crumbs. Assets and resources are becoming scarcer and scarcer, the most precious being water. And the people on listed in the two articles above control all our assets. But on the off chance they see something else they need or want and don’t already have, they don’t hesitate to send someone else’s kids into someone else’s country and take it for them.

Oh, and as for President Shitgibbin, he didn’t make the Top 500 list.

because the system requires such unequal distribution for them to get to that point.

This why I believe my proposal to abolish rich people and place all (former) billionaires in Detroit and make them work the second shift in an auto factory, is the best solution.

@Big Al
they knew the daily hazards and hard work of the people in of the most important jobs in this (or any other) country.

The American Garbageman.

They brought the city of New York to its knees.

He rattled off a list of demands which included a $600 annual wage hike, time and a half for Saturday work and double time for Sunday, a 10% night differential and a one-year contract.

The guys who did one of the hardest and dirtiest jobs there is had to defy City Hall and go out on strike for $50 bucks a month ($12.50 a week) more and the right to be paid a fair wage and some job security.

Well, let’s see those people on that list get up in the middle of the night and go work in the hot sun, pouring rain, or extreme cold performing one of humanity’s most basic and necessary functions. Cleaning up after ourselves.

I like to use time to illustrate the meaning of "billionaire".
If you got a job working for 50,000$ per year and you saved every single penny of your earnings it would take you 20 years to earn and save one million dollars. To earn one billion it would take you 20,000 years. And considering that it is nearly impossible to save more than 50% of your earnings we should recalculate- saving 50% of your earnings it would take 40,000 years to save up one billion dollars. 40,000 years!
Of course more realistically most folks are lucky to be able to put 10% of their earnings into savings. Which means you would need 200,000 years to save up your first billion dollars.

A billion dollars is really a confounding amount of money. Most people don't really grasp it.

Just received my policy renewal letter from BCBS.

Changes we're making to your coverage:

  • Monthly premium rates have increased
  • Increased co-insurance
  • Increased RX OOPM

My "affordable" health care insurance now has a monthly premium of $571.48, and an out-of-pocket maximum of $6,400.

And I know others have it way worse!

I really just want to cry for all of us.

Not to mention the Zuck man and spacebook.

No wonder these "liberal" bastions are so pro-war, anti-Russian (Venezuelan, etc.), capitalist rags!

No wonder we are an arrogant, ill-informed nation.

our entire military for one whole year and annihilate every single civilian on earth. Neutralizing the military personal afterwards would be their only roadblock to owning the whole planet for themselves.
The likes of Gates and Slim would serve as their new slaves as they could no longer serve any other purpose.

There is no justice. There can be no peace.

The 2 of them together top the list at 95.4 billion. Soros is way down the list at a paltry 24.6 billion. There's not a lot of good billionaires in there, such as Elon Musk, who makes his money by building useful products instead of by parasitic stealing of resources and corrupting the World with a profit over people mentality.

Beware the bullshit factories.

for any one individual to possess or to control. Never mind multiple billions. I've got nothing whatsoever against private wealth. It can be very beneficial for a person to acquire and to possess great wealth. But one billion dollars means a lot more than just personal wealth. It means power, and it means greed. A thousand millions of dollars means that great power and great greed have been combined under the authority of a single individual -- which is a social circumstance that does not usually end very well for anyone.
