The writing there is truly pathetic now. 'And I just skimmed a diary that more or less announces that Bernie's new project has crashed before it launches tonight because of Bernie bring in someone called Jeff Weaver to run it.

The title is "Bernie's Dream May Be Smashed. Thank Jeff Weaver" Forgive me for not linking to it. It looks like a shill piece to me but I really don't know. It looks to be to well written to be from most of the people that post there now. I assume that the "thank you Jeff Weaver" is a sincere call to thank the man.

And then I promptly came over here to see if any one knows what is really going on, because fact based writing is no longer a thing on that sight.

From SChelydra to the diarist on DKos:

If it’s any consolation, you can look forward to saying I told you so in November…. but since a look through your diaries of the past year suggests you’ve been a hardcore true-believing Hillarian from the git-go, you probably won’t regard that as any consolation at all.

The response to this diary follows the only script that guide the chorus here ...

Any diary that is not 100% cheerleading gets slammed ...

… whatever (ostensibly) motivated the diary is dismissed as a nothingburger ...

... whatever true (hidden but discernable) motives can be identified are then exposed and condemned in the style of the Moscow Purge Trials.

Substitute “RWCT” for “Trotskyite Wrecker” and you have the same all-purpose magic formula for neutralizing and smothering all critical remarks, sober analysis, or strategic pondering that contains anything other than predigested groupthink.

While it’s clear from your diary and your comments that your only concern is that Hillary should avoid the appearances of impropriety, it’s also clear that it’s a slippery slope you’re on. To admit there could be an appearance of impropriety is just a step or two short of suggesting that there could be actual impropriety.

Any diary or comment that carries even the faintest whiff of concern for morality, ethics, or common decency will be singled out as unspeakably offensive, beyond the pale—since it indicates you’re a troublemaker and an undesirable. As soon as you regard moral standards as absolute (as opposed to relativistic, pragmatic, fluid), you’re probably too far gone to bring back into the fold.

If morality is taken seriously for its own sake, you’re sure to go farther and farther astray. It’s fine if you just chant the approved slogans when the the designated Victims of Oppression have the blessings of your leaders (e.g., a non-white individual gunned down by cops in a US city is to be loudly mourned, with tears of rage and demands for merciless justice) but never think you have the right to decide for yourself who is a Victim of Oppression by employing the outmoded yardsticks of common sense or common decency. Unless you know for sure their oppression is officially recognized, don’t go out on a limb to express any concern for the fate of anyone non-white, non-rich, not a US citizen, especially if they’re following any agenda not spoon-fed to them by the US Government.

At least you didn’t touch on the SUBSTANTIVE issues related to State Dept/Foundation conflicts of interest — the deadly consequences for real people in Haiti, Honduras, and Colombia, whose concern for free elections, the natural environment, the rights of labor (respectively) interfere with the interests of Foundation donors. (Why do you think the Clinton people here don’t even want to admit there’s ever been an appearance of impropriety? It’s because it opens up the question of what that so-called impropriety actually involves, on the ground, in real life.)

You’ve been here for twelve years; it would be a shame if you let your worry about Clinton’s electoral vulnerability undermine your status as a loyal and reliable member.

passage of a certain period of time, the message fades away? You could challenge it at the Help Desk, if you were so inclined. I would not consider a comment a GBCW post. I bet that last will get you back in, if nothing else.

about us. When they do that to me and try to bring my postings here over there, I just laugh, thank them for following me and tell them I appreciate their fandom. They know I'm supporting Jill. Nothing has come of that. So yes, I don't think TPTB Over There are responding to postings elsewhere. At least, not yet. Hopefully not ever. Meanwhile, they're not going to "trick" me into advocating Jill over there (their attempts are SO transparent).

I think it probably was the "GBCW" comment. It probably generated some complaints to the Help Desk by the new hall monitors. But like I said, I agree with you that that's not fair. I think it's not the same as posting a diary on the subject. People say things in the heat of the moment all the time and walk them back later. I think they have even reinstated some people who wrote actual GBCW diaries after they've had time to cool off and reconsider. So I do think a challenge about such a comment would probably be successful.

You could start by just protesting the lack of a message and state that you don't know why you were banned, and then the length of time and money parts as above. Let them explain if they can. Then you can respond to whatever issue they think they have. And if that comment isn't it, you haven't drawn their attention to it! Or they may not even tell you and just go ahead and reinstate you.

Be sure to let me know what happens if you do decide to challenge!

Good Witch of the South. They seem to have combined the two into one in the Judy Garland movie; yes, there Glinda was referred to as Good Witch of the North, but that's not what it says in the books. The other witches are not named in the books. Depending on the stage version, the Good Witch of the North is either Locasta/Locusta or Addaperle.

No comments, no tips, no recs. My swan song to the place was two deeply critical diaries of Hillary, one of her corruption in January, and the other of her execrable Nancy Reagan lie in March, just before the Ides.

If I ever go back it will be to post an equally blistering Hillary post, either blaming the Hillbots for losing the White House by backing her, or a detailed I-told-you-so when her Wall Street Cabinet is named. Either way, it'll be the last thing I do there, if I bother.

Reading the comments in that diary, it looks like the place has become nastier and more narrow-minded that RedState ever was.
