you doing?

Nobody, of course, expects them, so their absence could arguably be expected, but disbanding? Are there no more heretics in spain? No Gypsies, Jews and Moors? I dunno.

Thanks for the JD, I haven't studied the full record, but it is likely that old Zeb's career peaked in Colorado.

Be good to yourself.

Get your Juggalo On at the next protest march. The Feds won't be able to Id you with their Fascist Spy Cams.

Last September, the world welcomed Juggalos (or Juggalettes, depending on which you prefer) to The Resistance when they marched on Washington en masse to protest the policies of the Trump administration. As if they weren’t already doing the absolute most, the die-hard fans of the rap group Insane Clown Posse have become accidental heroes for people concerned about facial recognition tech: According to Twitter user @tahkion, a computer science blogger for WonderHowTo, Juggalo makeup outmatches the machine learning algorithms that govern facial recognition technology.

paint-jobs, which would probably work too. I bet any dazzle style pattern would work, especially if any of it was reflective. I suspect it is easier and less conspicuous to use IR leds, maybe collar, hat-brim and glasses mounted IR camera jammers. Somebody ought to be passing them out like candy at events just to send the message that spying on the citizenry 24/7 is unacceptable behavior, for governments or their corporate alter-egos.

Another 2 inches of rain this week. I'm not complaining. It is so much better than drought! Of course the road is Sisyphus Way. We had a one inch rain in about 20 minutes, so yesterday I had to change out the mower for the box scrape and pull the road back up the hill. Then mower back on and looking at a few more hours running it this week to keep things a little tame. One advantage to the rain is all the mushrooms.

The forest seems happy about it all. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mycorrhiza
Approximately 90% of all vascular land plants live in some association with mycorrhizal fungi. Mycorrhizal associations are seen in the fossil record and are believed to be one of the contributing factors that allowed early land plants, including Aglaophyton major (one of the first land plants), to conquer the land.

I hope to keep them well watered and in all day partial shade once they sprout using shade cloth to see if I can get them to really take off like they allegedly should. Dry here, of course, hand watering from stored "recycled" water.

Edible fungi can be awful persnickety about how they are to be reared. (It's why truffles are so hideously expensive -- humans still don't know how to grow them in captivity).

They're the ones with the most to lose and they're killing themselves and everybody else by enabling these irresponsible, selfish assclowns who only insult and blame others and let any problems we need to deal with fester and get worse, or they make the problems immeasurably worse.

Enabling the DNC’s use of friends in the media to Pied-Piper Trump into the pole position, and power?

And enabling the Big Lie of Russiagate for going on two years now, in order to divert the public’s attention away from the above?

As someone who saw through Obama after a month into his first term, I gotta say Trump is an order of magnitude worse. The way he has degregualted polution laws, selling off public lands to Big Oil&Gas, biblical tax give aways to the rich and corporations, ... it's a long and ugly list.

Biblical, you say?

The closest I can come to a Biblical Trump is probably Rehoboam the Idiot (I Kings 12). The Israelite People asked to be eased of their burdens, but Rehoboam promised to make them far worse. The result was that 10 Israelite Tribes told Rehoboam to F.O.A.D.

Alone in all history, he estimated the greatness of man. One man was true to what is in you and me. He saw that God incarnates himself in man, and evermore goes forth anew to take possession of his world. He said, in this jubilee of sublime emotion, `I am divine. Through me, God acts; through me, speaks. Would you see God, see me; or, see thee, when thou also thinkest as I now think.' But what a distortion did his doctrine and memory suffer in the same, in the next, and the following ages! There is no doctrine of the Reason which will bear to be taught by the Understanding. The understanding caught this high chant from the poet's lips, and said, in the next age, `This was Jehovah come down out of heaven. I will kill you, if you say he was a man.' The idioms of his language, and the figures of his rhetoric, have usurped the place of his truth; and churches are not built on his principles, but on his tropes. Ralph Waldo Emerson

@jobu

The idioms of his language, and the figures of his rhetoric, have usurped the place of his truth; and churches are not built on his principles, but on his tropes. Christianity became a Mythus, as the poetic teaching of Greece and of Egypt, before. He spoke of miracles; for he felt that man's life was a miracle, and all that man doth, and he knew that this daily miracle shines, as the character ascends. But the word Miracle, as pronounced by Christian churches, gives a false impression; it is Monster. It is not one with the blowing clover and the falling rain.

...

In this point of view we become very sensible of the first defect of historical Christianity. Historical Christianity has fallen into the error that corrupts all attempts to communicate religion. As it appears to us, and as it has appeared for ages, it is not the doctrine of the soul, but an exaggeration of the personal, the positive, the ritual. It has dwelt, it dwells, with noxious exaggeration about the person of Jesus.

@enhydra lutris @enhydra lutris Time for a little PUI. (Apologies on going into random prose and whirling thoughts. If it makes no sense later, forgive me.)

There's some people in my situation would look at the life of Jesus and try to tie their own thoughts and muses into it. That's of course what the churches and the ritual tell you to do, so when you have that epiphany or spark of genius, you immediately assign it to God, and his majesty, and you forgive the ham handed ways that his disciples try to express it, because NOW you understand what they were badly trying to communicate, but couldn't understand until it happened. Usually it's the moment referenced in countless "Road to Damascus" speeches.

But I don't feel one hand on my shoulder, as they often do. Instead I feel a whirling cosmos of thought that divides itself into many little facets. Some of them are very close to me, and are familiar from stories of childhood.

So in a real sense, when I give thanks to the muses and the gods for their insight, I'm Dead fucking serious. They all have their little quirks and thoughts that they feel are vital to express. Perhaps they're real, perhaps they're not. But if churches can Argue that King James was divinely inspired and be just as Dead fucking serious, to the point they KILL people...

Then my small delusions of a god nudging my poetic thoughts in the way that pleases them shouldn't really bother anybody. Especially considering that I'd never kill anybody for those small and simple dreams.

Edit: Wanted to put in a little music.
