Obviously - Putin!

Yep the damn Russians did this, it's so evident -prove me wrong!

When you have an Electoral College [and you know how it works, sometimes I wonder about that] the following two maps tell you everything that you need to know.

Rather than not this as a complete catastrophe due to policies the Democrats are going full steam ahead and blaming anyone but themselves, Putin!

Hillary will have better down ballot appeal than Bernie Sanders, cuz "firewalls!" they sagely asserted. It was a shame that these "firewalls" were made of highly flammable polyester, Putin!

A leftish wing populist cannot win they cried from their Hollywood fund raisers, Putin!

We need more money to fight against the Republicans they noted from the offices of Goldman Sachs, Putin!

We will assuage our tears from our loss with the billionaires in New York City, Putin!

Damn those ignorant hicks in fly over territory, we still don't need you, Putin!

The CIA and FBI are our loyal impartial friends upholding our democracy against our fellow Americans, Putin!

If you don't agree with us, you are deplorable, racist, homophobic, sexist, Un-American traitors and probably white to boot, Putin!

I need to punch a hippy, Putin!

You have to admire their deep level of introspection, don't you?

Income inequality, equality for all, should have been their rallying cry, but no, it was "Did you see Trump! We are not that bad!" oh and the farcical "she is with us" as she pushed the peas to the side of the gold plate at dinner. Peas are just so needy.

Their only hope now for 2018 is the total failure of Trump and the Republicans and its potentially catastrophic effect on the USA otherwise it's full steam ahead with the same old flannel.

"Hope and Change" has become "Mockery and Conspiracy".

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof:

How many votes were actually changed as a consequence of publishing the campaign's own words? You know, real data.

Never mind publishing so called NSA/CIA/FBI assessments notably lacking in anything but conjecture.

How about publishing a league table of "who fucks with our politics the most", oh dear, that might mean mentioning Israel, shhhh.

Perhaps paying less attention to neo-liberals, the MIC and their corporate sponsors [oligarchs] combined with their media arm the MSM might be a start. No matter who won, it would have been beneficial to the current power base, it's much easier to cry "- Putin!", rather than fight back [hahahahaha]. Picking Hillary was the cowards way out btw and got what it deserved.

What a bloody farce of a time that we are living in. Putin!

Hah! That made me lol, I must thank you for that. Peas are just so needy.

Another map I'd be interested to see is a job overlay. I don't mean number of jobs, I mean the actual job information, FT with bene's and upward mobility is a real job, most other McJobs require massive taxpayer subsidies so what's the point? Stay busy as the world burns.

Pretty sure there are already big databases in the sky that get mined for exploitation by the oligarchy, why not have one for the peas too? Unite for whirled peas, etc.. Oops, sounds like Assange, can't have that now can we? Thinking.

La Fem - as always a great diary. You have such clarity.

But they are clearly grim facts. A couple of days ago I read all the way down through the comments of a Big Al essay. Important factual essay and comments. However, by the end I felt like a cloud had moved over my head - like the ones in old cartoons where it is just over your head raining on only you.

I wrote my own comment. "After this I feel like I need a happy pill."

So, then I went over to http://www.resilience.org/ which often posts postitive things you can do to be resilient. I usually see it as a feel good site. So I chose to read an article titled "Positive Thinking in a Dark Age" by Jim Tull, Local Futures.

YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! I never made it through the long article. I don't know if he was ever going to get to the positive thinking part, but he was dragging the reader through more depressing hopeless shit than I have ever read anywhere.

So I turned to my gardening videos for help. I have been aware of the permaculture movement, but have not given it much attention. Then I watched this video about a couple in New Zealand who took a nearly worthless piece of land and turned it into what they called a "food forest." It's permaculture, but a much more attractive descriptive term.

And I look forward to watching Lookouts video links on permaculture.

I think my happy pill will be creating a food forest. It is pretty hard to get things to survive where I live in Texas. It is not the desert, but the weather extremes give you a very short growing season. You have to plant long long before the danger of frost is over and be prepared to cover your plants. You must irrigate some. And you have to have raised beds to create your own soil. Doing these things you have a shot . . . but still there are grasshoppers, squash bugs, fire ants, snails, spiders and even invisible threats. Last fall I had gobs of yellow squash growing in my mulch pile. I picked a couple dozen every week. I had promised to give some more to in-laws and went out one morning to pick. The squash and the leaves were completely gone. Only the stems left. No clue or evidence as to what ate them.

It seems like if you do the food forest correctly, it should come back next year and in many ways takes care of itself. For me that means planting fruit and nut trees and berries in raised beds. Two years ago I planted plums, peaches, pears, pomegranates, and a persimmons tree in my 3 ft tall raised beds. They have done beautifully - tripled in size. Contrast that to trees planted in our soil which take years to go or just die.

This week . . . temps have been in the teens . . . next week will be in the 70s. Hope to get the teenage son to help me build beds with concrete blocks and dirt bags.

I just have to get my focus off everything bad that can happen. It has been messing with my mind!

I started with the keyhole garden concept.

Deb Tolman Sustainable Gardener:

They are lasagna gardens with a "keyhole" in the middle where you are supposed to dump table scraps and dishwater. I never had enough stuff to fill the holes so I took them out. You layer cardboard, paper, leaves, grass clippings, manure, wood, etc. Put good planting soul on the top. Add worms. Plant.

Miraculous! All that stuff composts underneath. It shrinks so you add more layers the next time you plant.

Do you have lasagna garden beds? Smile

The disappearance of conventional full-time work, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. work, has hit every demographic. “Workers seeking full-time, steady work have lost,” said Krueger.

Under Obama, 1 million fewer workers, overall, are working than before the beginning of the Great Recession.

The outgoing president believes his administration was a net positive for workers, however.

"Since I signed Obamacare into law (in 2010), our businesses have added more than 15 million new jobs," said Obama, during his farewell press conference last Friday, covered by Investing.com.

Short video embedded here: https://futurism.com/technological-unemployment-the-real-reason-this-elephant-chart-is-terrifying/

The presentation is designed to be a shock-and-awe wake-up call about the nature of exponentially accelerating technology and its implications. In it, I quote a now-infamous figure from Frey and Osborne: 47 to 81% of jobs as we understand them could be under threat from technology within 20 years(acknowledging there are differences of opinion on this).

And then I show the crowd a recent headline: Apple’s Foxconn factory in China just fired 60,000 people and replaced them with robots.

This is a horrible headline, I say. I don’t want to diminish what has just happened to these people.

Hillary started her unfavorability slide long before the election, before the wikileaks e-mails and the Russian attacks on her candidacy. The more the US public got to know about her, the less they liked her. Her performance against Sanders was dismal and she won the primary because she had the party machine cranking out memes and delivering the red states to her. By the time she hit the general, she was thoroughly disliked as the conniving manipulator that she is...her belief system firmly implanted in the latest poll results.

What gets lost in all this on the liberal blogosphere is the apparent need to present Putin as an innocent in order to reinforce the meme that he had nothing to do with the election results. If I were Putin, I sure would want Trump over Clinton as US Prez. I mean Trump is a clod incapable of running a lemonade stand to a profit or organizing a pep rally for a High School football team. If you want a country to have a weak ass leader, Trump is your man. I don't need evidence to believe Putin tried to influence our election, why the hell wouldn't he with so much at stake ? This does not mean I think his efforts were effective as President Trump was fait accompli.

And what is completely unexplained, is Trumps consistent support for Putin. As a leftist, Putin is nothing less than a p.o.s. His annexation of Crimea, his war crimes in Syria and his war in the Ukraine are all signs of conquest over people of self determination. Again no surprise from a man with a background in Russia's CIA.

They got a chance to vote their choice recently, and it went overwhelmingly for reunion with Russia. Naturally this was distorted in the US Corporate Media into an "annexation" because Russia Always Evil.

"War crimes" in Syria is the soot-stained pot calling the kettle dirty. Both/all sides are guilty.

It also wasn't Putin/Russia who started a war in Ukraine - it was a coup d'etat, backed and sponsored by the US CIA, that got totally out of hand.

Trump has a positive attitude about Russia because he actually spent some time there. He ran the Miss Universe contest in Moscow in 2013. He also toured Moscow and talked to many Russians. Here's what he had to say:
Putin “has a tremendous popularity in Russia," Trump told Fox News last July. "They love what he’s doing. They love what he represents.”

Here's a you tube video of a British filmmaker asking Russians at random what they thought of President Putin.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-AIeTR5m1k

This is exactly what I found. I have been to Russia four times in the last two years to study the language and to understand Russia from the Russian standpoint.

I was shocked at first when I could find little negativity about Vladimir Putin. He is well respected and well liked. The most negative sentiment I could find is that he has been in office too long, and that was definitely a minority view.

The President Putin depicted in the main stream media in the US does not exist. He is entirely a fabricated, evil, figure of the Western imagination. In Russia he is considered very moderate, slow to take action, and very wise. Too slow and moderate for some. Let's hope that he stays in office for a long, long time and that his replacement is as gifted and wise as he is.

Anyone who spends time in Russia talking to many Russians and touring Russia comes back with the same opinion.

and as ethnically, culturally and religiously diverse as Russia from the utter decimation of the country caused by application of Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine during the early US puppet Yeltsin's leadership?

Rising living standards

In 2005, Putin launched National Priority Projects in the fields of health care, education, housing and agriculture. In his May 2006 annual speech, Putin proposed increasing maternity benefits and prenatal care for women. Putin was strident about the need to reform the judiciary considering the present federal judiciary "Sovietesque", wherein many of the judges hand down the same verdicts as they would under the old Soviet judiciary structure, and preferring instead a judiciary that interpreted and implemented the code to the current situation. In 2005, responsibility for federal prisons was transferred from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Ministry of Justice.

The most high-profile change within the national priority project frameworks was probably the 2006 across-the-board increase in wages in healthcare and education, as well as the decision to modernise equipment in both sectors in 2006 and 2007.[57]

During Putin's government, poverty was cut more than half[17][18] and real GDP has grown rapidly.[19]

Restoring functionality of government

The concept of "Putinism" was described in a positive sense by Russian political scientist Andranik Migranyan.[25] According to Migranyan, Putin came into office when the worst regime was established: the economy was "totally decentralized", and "the state had lost central authority, while the oligarchs robbed the country and controlled its power institutions." In two years, Putin has restored hierarchy of power, ending the omnipotence of regional elites as well as destroying political influence of "oligarchs and oligopolies in the federal center." Boris Yeltsin-era non-institutional center of power commonly called "The Family". was ruined, which, according to Migranyan, in turn undercut the positions of the actors, such as Boris Berezovsky and Vladimir Gusinsky, who had sought to privatize the Russian state "with all of its resources and institutions".[25]

The real reason that the leaders of the Washington Consensus (neoliberal) Nations do not like Putin is because he has pulled Russia out from the rubble of the defunct USSR and has made the country proud and strong again.

BTW, what western leader has ever matched Putin's popularity for as long and consistently as has Putin? This must piss them off to no end as no amount of western propaganda has been able to affect this popularity.

This has irked the neocons who still infest the current US administration to no end.

The Wolfowitz Doctrine: (I am giving the original writing as it is more honest to the real spirit of the doctrine)

Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival, either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere, that poses a threat on the order of that posed formerly by the Soviet Union. This is a dominant consideration underlying the new regional defense strategy and requires that we endeavor to prevent any hostile power from dominating a region whose resources would, under consolidated control, be sufficient to generate global power.

The U.S. must show the leadership necessary to establish and protect a new order that holds the promise of convincing potential competitors that they need not aspire to a greater role or pursue a more aggressive posture to protect their legitimate interests. In non-defense areas, we must account sufficiently for the interests of the advanced industrial nations to discourage them from challenging our leadership or seeking to overturn the established political and economic order. We must maintain the mechanism for deterring potential competitors from even aspiring to a larger regional or global role.

I'm not going to bother with the rest of your........

So a staged discussion about completing Olympic buildings is proof that he is a great leader? Sochi was a monument to Putin's giant ego - guaranteed to be an economic boondoggle for his country.

Well good for him, he's popular. That is not indicative of much except the peoples desperation. You know who else is incredibly popular with the people ? Duterte, of the Philippines. They both have similar styles which probably explains their mutual boy crush.

I am glad he has improved poverty rates and cleaned up a little corruption. Of course that is just what he needed to do to become the richest man in the world. Hmm, I wonder how he got all his money given his KGB background ?

video, otherwise you come off as just another ill-informed, biased critic spouting nonsense.

Olympic Winter Games are rarely profitable and it always takes a minimum of 10 years+ to just break even. The Sochi games were just 2 years ago. Also, the US engineered coup in Ukraine at that time was not coincidental. Putin handled the situation skillfully and came off with the biggest prize of all - the repatriation of Crimea and Sevastopol.

Here's reports about Sochi from 2016:

Russia's Recession: A Blessing in Disguise for Post-Olympics Sochi
Sochi once seemed doomed to fall into post-Olympics neglect. Ironically, Russia’s recession has lifted the city’s fate.

No time for the past as Sochi embraces glamorous new role
The Winter Olympics and the arrival of Formula One have boosted the profile of Russia’s premier Black Sea resort, but a simple lifestyle is now a thing of the past.

In post-Olympic Sochi, white elephants – and improved daily life
The Sochi Winter Olympics, the costliest in history, left behind a host of empty facilities and stadiums. But many locals say that the investment was worthwhile.

Sochi still basking in Olympic afterglow
Two years have passed since Sochi hosted an unforgettable Olympic Winter Games – and the event’s legacy has changed the face of the Russian resort. Sochi has been transformed since the Games, which took place between 7 February and 16 February, 2014, and now has international standing as a major centre for sports, events, health and business tourism according to research conducted by the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU). Its development potential has been realised in a period that has seen visitors flock to the Black Sea region.

Tourist arrivals to Sochi in the first eight months of 2015 were up by seven per cent on the corresponding period of 2014 – bringing the total number of visitors up to more than four million. Occupancy of the city’s world-famous health resorts reached 94 per cent, a five-year high, and the facilities that hosted the Games have thrived too.

Not sure why you are pointing out Wolfowitz but I assume it's because you think I am an admirer ?

Because you sound like you agree with his Doctrine. The Wolfowitz Doctrine is still in effect despite the fact that Bush is no longer president. These guys used to be called the "basement crazies" under BushI. They started to crawl out under Clinton and took residence in the back bedrooms of the WH under BushII. Obama never kicked them out and they've had his ear since. Hillary would have moved them into the front bedrooms.

Hillary Clinton’s Neocon Resumé
...
My last essay reflected on Hillary’s deeply conservative, neoliberal, and pro-Big Business career in domestic U.S. politics and policy. This article turns to her foreign policy history, showing why it makes perfect sense that top imperial Neocons prefer Hillary over the at least outwardly “isolationist” and at anti-interventionist Trump.
...
Russia and Ukraine

A seventh line is Russia. Mrs. Clinton has consistently sought to demonize and isolate Moscow, absurdly blaming the bloody Ukraine crisis on “Putin’s imperialism” and endlessly justifying Washington’s relentless provocation of Russia. Hillary’s close ally Victoria Nuland (a top member of Hillary’ State Department team) is Obama’s Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and is married to the top imperial Neocon Robert Kagan.

Nuland played a central role in engineering a bloody right-wing coup that installed an anti-Russian and significantly fascist, neo-Nazi regime (in the name of “democracy”) in Kiev in early 2014. The coup reflected longstanding, Clinton-led U.S. efforts to absorb Russia’s immediate western neighbor into the NATO orbit. The leading Russian historian Stephen Cohen explained the development of the broader U.S. policy behind the Ukraine coup during a talk organized last year by the American Committee for East West Accord: “This [Ukraine] problem began in the 1990s, when the Clinton Administration adopted a winner-take-all policy toward post-Soviet Russia … Russia gives, we take. … This policy was adopted by the Clinton Administration but is pursued by every [major U.S.] political party [all two of them – P.S.], every President, every American Congress, since President Clinton, to President Obama. This meant that the United States was entitled to a sphere or zone of influence as large as it wished, right up to Russia’s borders, and Russia was entitled to no sphere of influence, at all, not even in Georgia… or in Ukraine (with which Russia had been intermarried for centuries).”

It’s not for nothing that the top right wing Ukrainian oligarchs like Victor Pinchuk have contributed many millions of dollars (more than any other nation or national elite) to the global Clinton Foundation – a so-called charity that advances the global neoliberal agenda (including the European integration of the resource-rich Ukraine) of the U.S. ruling class. Yeah I watched it all the way to the end and if it walks like propaganda, and quacks like propaganda...I especially LOVE the part where he forces the guy to sign an "Agreement".

As for your claim about Sochi paying dividends, how much did the Olympics cost Russia ? 10 million ? 2 billion ? The WAPO says $50B but I am positive that is one you would never accept - so how much ? Ok I can't wait so let's be safe and go with the RBTH number as they seem to be a preferred source for you...they said $42B.

Now what's the GDP of Russia ? $2T. So you are saying that Sochi can capture 1.7% of the entire Russian GDP ? 10 years + is a bit unrealistic isn't it ? Once all the structures start getting a bit shop worn, it'll be a ghost town again.

As for your Wolfowitz reference, it's silly. Because I call into question Putin's human rights record that makes me part of the PNAC ? Wolfowitz crowd ? That's exactly the kind of thinking I have a problem with. Say anything bad about Putin and you must be a Hilbot ? God help me.

the airport, highways, railways, tourist facilities, road repairs, new power plant and other infrastructure to develop the entire region as a resort area.

This money will not go to waste. Tourism in Sochi is doing very well, even considering the current economy of Russia. Sochi International Airport had record-breaking growth with 2.1 million passengers in the first six months of 2016 – year-on-year growth of 36%. Hotels booked at 95%.

Many of the Olympic sports venues continue to be used.

It is interesting that HRW says registering foreign NGO's is a Freedom of Association infraction while nothing is said of the American Foreign Agents Registration Act.

This statement is from Mikhail Gorbachev. Vladimir Vladimirovich's accomplishments to date make him one of the greatest leaders of Russia ever. Contrast that to the attitude in the West and the false accusations in the Western media that he is a thug, still a KGB agent, corrupt, stupid, impulsive, bellicose and fabulously wealthy and a threat to the West. None of these are true. His first love is Russia and the Russian people. Asked asked by a young Russian why he does the hard work he answers "so that you can be happy". He holds four hour press conferences, unscripted. He will not only answer your question but will explain why this is so.

We in the West have missed the real story because we have a self-inflicted blindness.

I know everybody says that that vote was rigged--but the people saying that include people who just rigged the Democratic primary last spring. So I'm not so sure about that. History, also, appears to indicate strong ties between the Crimea and Russia proper--as in, lots of the people living in Crimea consider themselves Russian, speak Russian, etc. That's not proof, but it does make the validity of the pro-Russia vote more credible.

I'm certainly not going to assume Crimean election fraud just because the vote went the way the Russian government liked, while at the same time assuming that the government we installed in Kiev has no neo-Nazi qualities at all.

This article does a great job of highlighting the completely asinine hypocrisy of the U.S. in this regard. Check out what the article says about protesters:

The White House is reported to be set on a new cold war policy with the aim of turning Russia into a "pariah state".

That might be more explicable if what is going on in eastern Ukraine now were not the mirror image of what took place in Kiev a couple of months ago. Then, it was armed protesters in Maidan Square seizing government buildings and demanding a change of government and constitution. US and European leaders championed the "masked militants" and denounced the elected government for its crackdown, just as they now back the unelected government's use of force against rebels occupying police stations and town halls in cities such as Slavyansk and Donetsk.

I'm kind of OK with Crimeans voting to belong to Russia.

I know everybody says that that vote was rigged--but the people saying that include people who just rigged the Democratic primary last spring. So I'm not so sure about that.

I mean, where did this uncertainty about the intention and will of the Crimean people come from? Given these actual facts:

• Gallup re-polled Crimea a year later, and found the vote percentages were identical, if not more pro-Russia reunification.

(The original results were 95 percent pro-reunification. Of course, the Crimean population is 95 percent ethnic Russian. They've had autonomy from Ukraine for decades because they are Russsians, and were artificially stuck on Soviet Ukraine for infrastructure after the Nazis destroyed their physical connections to Russia during WWII. The Russians built their only warm water seaport for their Navy in that part of Russia centuries ago. Sebastopol IS the heart of Russia's Navy.)

• Not to be outdone, Pew did the same thing, and verified the vote.

• Then, the most prominent pollster in the EU, headquartered in Germany, went to Crimea and found the same result.

• Polling agencies throughout the world have descended upon Crimea since 2014 — and all of them have returned with the exact same answer.

• The Crimeans exercised what the UN designates as the most important human right that this species has — the right to self-determination. This is the right of a people to chose their own form of government. It was the same right that the Declaration of Independence demanded.

Did the US media fail you? Was this information withheld?

Because the US has earmarked Crimea to become the largest NATO base on the European continent, blocking Russia's navy from its historic access to the to the Mediterranean and the oceans, beyond, the ethnic Russians living in Crimea are tagged for extermination by the Banderas Nazis who were put in control Ukraine after the US and NGO supported coup in 2014, toppling the democratically elected president of Ukraine.

The US must have succeeded, more than I imagined, in blocking these important facts from Americans, facts that the entire world seems to be aware of.

The reality in Crimea is completely at odds with the Western narrative. The facts on the ground are just that .. facts.
- Crimea was a special part of Russia, is now part of Russia and will always be part of Russia. It's what the people of Crimea want.
- The alternative is to allow the Bandera Nazis to persecute, kill and drive them off of their land. A group of Crimeans demonstrated at Maidan pro government. A group of Nazis followed their bus back to Crimea, intercepted it and beat them with iron pipes.
- President Putin is telling the separatists in Eastern Ukraine that they cannot have their desire for separation or unification with Russia. They must follow the Minsk II agreement. All that Kiev needs to do is to implement the agreement and the Ukraine becomes whole. Yet the neoNazis in Kiev refuse to do this, preferring to pound Eastern Urkaine with mortar and artillery with the hope of killing them all and driving them off of their land.
- Clearly the West is the trouble maker in all of this. Ukraine was a democratic state balancing the various factions and resolving the differences at the ballot box. Once again, the US interfered and replaced stability with dead people and scattered body limbs and permanent chaos. When will we ever stop?

Maybe because I was agreeing with your position. The hint of uncertainty was only because Russia, like the United States, is an empire, and empires are not necessarily trustworthy on matters happening within their sphere of influence. However, since my empire is the biggest liar on the planet, I came down on the side of the U.S. probably being the one that's lying about Crimea. That was what my comment was about.

You are my favorite.

I've used the wounded bird pose myself, where I drag a broken wing along the stage to make my point. (Hillary perfected the technique during the 2016 campaign, in her wimmin wars.) I was reacting to the approach, not to you, since the LIE about Ukraine is the force that is driving the false narrative that gives Nazi-style imperialism the edge in the US and Europe.

I insist that LIE must be met with equal force. (Which means, of course, that I must do it myself anywhere I see it. And I do.)

I see now that I was way too pushy about it and I regret that. I don't have to speak the truth every single time. At some point it becomes destructive.

I love your comments too.

We disagree on one or two main points (NOT about Russia and the Ukraine--general political points), which we should discuss sometime in depth--I'd love to have a sort of live diary where we discuss/debate with each other.

Here's the thing: I got mad because I was actually in agreement with you on just about everything! One of my least favorite things about digital communication is how people can end up arguing with you about things you're not even saying--I've had people tear me apart on Twitter for something I wasn't even advocating. Luckily, my skin is thick enough that my main reaction at that time was bemusement, but it wasn't a lot of fun.

In this case, I was doing the academic thing of giving the other side every possible credibility before smashing their argument to pieces anyway.

(I don't feel insulted anymore. Glad we talked this out. At least, I think we have.)

As for Hillary, I can't stand her victim pose. And she seems endlessly able to renew it, despite anything and everything. Maybe we didn't put enough garlic in her mouth.

are suspect when it comes to facts about Russia or Putin. NYT and WaPo are the very unreliable. Most of their reporting on foreign nations that are at odds with the US government are always portrayed in the worst possible light. Anything that can't is simply ignored.
Alternate media such as Counterpunch and Consortium News are much better sources of information on controversial events as history has proved.

So I just found out that there's an audio recording of Hillary Clinton, in 2006, saying this:

“I do not think we should have pushed for an election in the Palestinian territories. I think that was a big mistake,” said Sen. Clinton. “And if we were going to push for an election, then we should have made sure that we did something to determine who was going to win.

I hate the Clintons. I really do.

I've been surprised at the absolute denial and protectiveness of the Clintons among democrats. They seem fundamentally incapable of understanding or even honestly contemplating why they lost. Even against the ridiculous, vile and disgusting Donald Trump. It's all excuses and finger-pointing and poor Hillary. She's still playing victim, and they are lapping it up.

I have stopped by DKos a few times since the election, just to see if there is *any* introspection or reconsideration of their loyalty and defending of Her Highness. Any understanding that forcing her upon us as The Chosen One was a mistake. Nope. Not a glimmer. The few people there who dare to point out the truth are instantly attacked as disloyal to the Crown. Any criticism of the DNC/Clintons is deemed a 'right wing talking point' with no possible merit or validity. She is blameless and pure in their "minds" (using the term loosely). I won't be surprised at this point if they nominate Chelsea next time around.

I had hoped that losing the presidency, to Trump of all people, along with the other significant losses dems have suffered in recent years, might be enough to shake them out of their delusions... but no. Apparently not. The democratic party is a lost cause, if Kos and crew are any kind of barometer.

(PS, thanks for the invite to Nimbus! I can't make it on a Monday evening, but I'm thinking it would be good to meet up with y'all one of these times. Are there enough Baja zonies here to make a C99 group?)

Their mistreatment of the populations in the occupied territories is a major recruitment tool for radical Islamic groups such as ISIS. Meanwhile, radical Christian groups such as The American Family Association tell their paid politicians to encourage this so they can start their Armageddon so Jesus can make his grand entrance. It's nuts. If Israel started acting like part of the middle east community instead of entitled occupiers, there would a lot less strife in the middle east. But, no, just to merely criticize Israel is anti Semitic. smh

If you have a UTI, they're required, unless you can force enough fluids to flush the infection - most people can't, myself included. Did it twice with cheap beer, but was in my early 20s. Are you under the care of a doctor for it?

Democrats just can't admit that they forced the worst presidential candidate in American history down the throats of the people...and the people rejected her (yet again).

The lies and misdirection is so infuriating. They say Putin was against her, the FBI, the media, etc.

Sorry no

I've said this post before but it needs to be posted throughout the net. Clinton had the entire establishment of both the Democrats and Republicans, massive amounts of money (more than Trump), the pharmaceutical industry, banks, Wall Street, the media (yes the media, the media in a unified front attacked Trump over and over again), celebrity endorsements, the popular sitting President Obama and his wife Michelle, Sanders, Biden, Warren, even foreign governments were talking about how bad Trump would be. All of this and perhaps a few I'm missing, all of this could not drag across the two-ton brick known as Hillary Clinton across the finish line. Against the second worst presidential candidate in American history (the worst candidate goes to Clinton now, because she couldn't even beat god awful Trump). And that is how history will remember Clinton: The person who lost to Donald Trump.

I started thinking more about this and it truly is rage-inducing the amount of hypocrisy and inability to own their own incompetence and failures.

Hillary is a veteran, battle-tested, has-the-scars-to-prove-it politician who has survived the 30 years of RW smears...

Hillary lost cause an unknown ancient man from Vermont told the truth about her... (eyeroll)

That's another thing. RW smears. All those damn young kids (I'm one of those) spread those rightwing smears against the Chosen. Except well they weren't RW smears.
See, a RW smear is something like Vince Foster...cool, I avoided those.
Iraq war, Goldman Sachs, Libya, Syria, saber-rattling with Russia, incompetence, neoliberal policies, fracking, and on and on are truths that are done from her LEFT.

*Additional: She had her cheerleaders talking about her raising money for downticket races, which is not true as it was just funneled back into her campaign. Now many are blaming Bernie for the losses in the downticket....but but but how come Feingold or Teachout lost. I don't know...oh that's right, Hillary had anti-coattails that tainted downticket races. God, just own the fact you forced the worst politician in American history down the throats of the people and stop being pissy because they didn't want her. She was the only candidate who could have lost to him and boy did she do that.
