A place to honour the Queen of Soul ...
Comments
Thank you, Janis. If anyone deserves
a tribute--it's Aretha.
I was so saddened to see that she is 'gravely ill.' I believe that she's dying from some form of cancer. (Unless she's passed, already.)
Always was one of my favorite artists--from as far back as I can (literally) remember.
Can't post a video, because (from some reason) I get a warning in Chrome, and worried that FireFox isn't secure enough.
To Miss Aretha - You will always be 'the Queen of Soul' in my book. I thank you for your graciousness, dignity, and, of course, your huge and inimitable talent. You have made this world a more joyful and brighter place.
Thank you.

Thank you! What a combination, Janis--
Aretha and Sam Cooke!
To honor him, here's a link to his Wikipedia entry. Another major, major talent.
A fitting song, right now--thanks!

May the God in Whom you trusted lifelong show you every Kindness, Mercy and Grace.
The love and prayers of this praying man are with you, as doubtless are those of millions of others such as me.
Thank You for all the wonderful music!

She opened my eyes and heart in 1967 and I can't tell you
how devastated it feels today to me, thinking of those times and hopes we had, and compare them to where we are at today. She might be so ill and die of a broken soul.
May she find peace.

This is sad. We grew old together. Aretha
Is a huge part of my (our) life. I remember cruising down the street and Respect blaring on the radio. Good times!!
When my 2nd daughter was little she would crack people up because she’d walk around singing her favorite song which happened to be (You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman. She knew every word.

No. I want to state just exactly how much this
Wonderful woman was loved and how big a part of our lives will gone when she leaves us. Multiple generations will mourn her passing. Myself and my daughter are two of them.

Hey a computer glitch...
you post came up first as this only:
Nothing else was there and it wasn't postscripped; i said "this was a eulogy thread in response, perhaps you meant this to be elsewhere;" when i returned to thread, your first post showed as was intended.
Another post on evening blues looked out of place as well; think we had a computer glitch; sorry, very sorry that happened; not our mistakes, Amanda.
Thank you.
I missed whatever glitch there was.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Technology sucks sometimes, but thankful that it preserves the legacy of such talent as Aretha's.
That is a sweet remembrance

Beware the bullshit factories.
One of THE best scenes in that movie.

Quite a few scenes in that movie to choose a favorite from
Ray Charles, Johnie Lee Hooker, James Brown but yep, for me too, Aretha's Think is my favorite. It's a great motivator song when I have to do shit I don't like to do.
Beware the bullshit factories.
Bye Aretha
