I cannot adequately express my feels without swearing profusely. You've been warned.

/retrieves soapbox from storage. Blows away cobwebs. Stands on soapbox.

Jesus Horatio Christ gesticulating wildly about Johnny Depp's short-lived and troubled marriage, WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT is going on within the so-called "leadership" of the Democratic Party? What is happening to make Hillary Clinton surrogates such butthurt assholes who have no self-awareness lately? Is it 2008 again, or is it 1992?! Have I been sucked into a parallel universe in which actions don't have consequences and being a straight-up dickhead wins you friends and influences people?!

Yeah, kos wrote some goddamned bullshit garbage on his stupid website today, but this isn't really about that. My anger runs much deeper and goes much further than that, and I really want to communicate this as best I can, because the Democratic Party really doesn't seem to get this because they are acting like a bunch of thin-skinned idiots who seem to abhor this whole "Democratic process" crap:

I am SICK TO FUCKING DEATH! of Clinton people and the Democratic elite badmouthing and insulting Bernie Sanders and his legion of supporters. THE 2016 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY IS NOT YET OVER -- THERE ARE STILL NINE PRIMARIES/CAUCUSES LEFT TO VOTE, YOU IMPATIENT AND GREEDY MOTHERFUCKERS! YOU don't get to run this goddamned show and decide what's important to me, or the millions of other Americans who have embraced Senator Sanders and his platform. YOU don't get to nullify my vote for Bernie, or the millions of other votes he has received thus far. YOU don't get to call for Bernie to drop out of this hotly-contested race when Hillary Clinton hung on by her fingertips in 2008, for fuck's sake! Don't be hypocritical douchebags!

Senator Sanders is taking this shit all the way to the convention! That is how this is gonna roll. Bernie and his supporters have earned the right to have a massive voice and presence in Philly, and there's absolutely no reason Clinton and her supporters need to rush this fucking thing like it's a goddamned church picnic. Sit the hell down, shut the fuck up, and let this deal play out.

Whew! /steps down from soapbox

... a righteous rant that only an experienced legislator could have inspired (probably because he read the rules and understands them!)...? This is an example of WHY I believed (still do believe) Obama did not have the experience or the moxie to undertake the office of the president after less than one full term in Congress; he was always too naïve, and in some ways, he still is since he still thinks of himself as the "bipartisan compromiser" (I loathe that term) and thinks that is a good trait (it can be, but not when trying to accomplish getting laws passed that do the most good for the most people - not fucking corporations, banks, Wall Street, etc!). Bernie has the "it" factor: he knows whose arms he needs to twist, knows when to use a gentle word or two, knows when to pointedly get real in his dialogue..., basically a nicer version of the very experienced LBJ who had also been in politics for over a quarter of a century and knew how to get things done.

The more I read, the bigger my smile got, and then I did a happy dance!

Read that four-page letter from Bernie's legal counsel to the DNC about removing Barney Frank and Dannel Malloy. It's full of legal-speak zingers that amount to justifiable rants about both men and stops short of mentioning DWS or her HRC cohorts with the DNC to freeze Bernie and Bernie supporters out of the processes at the DNC in Philly. Bernie is playing hardball with DWS & the DNC. Good for Bernie! I was wondering when someone would go after the DNC's elitist corporate hacks!

Edit: I found the link (gag; there's a BP ad before it starts playing):

Sanders lawyers threaten to disrupt DNC over committee members
Rachel Maddow shares the details of a letter from Bernie Sanders campaign lawyers to the DNC threatening to disrupt the national convention unless two co-chairs of the Standing Platform and Rules Committees are removed. Duration: 8:48

At about the 5:30 mark (if you can read the time with that nonsense scrolling at the bottom of the screen - or you can watch the whole thing since it is pertinent) Maddow said "Now, as you know, the Sanders campaign has basically gone to war against the Democratic party recently...." Wow! "Gone to war against the Democratic party..." Hyperbole much?!?

I used to think Maddow liked Sanders when she seemed thrilled to be talking to Bernie several months ago. Her news blurb tonight with a voice that implies a vitriolic attitude tells me she's gone to the dark side, imbibed the Klinton Kool-Aid, and has become addicted to anything not Bernie-related.

I suspect the thousands on your Twitter list may appreciate the above, too. Smile

Bernie or Bust!!!

This also ties in with Shiz's last two paragraphs. Everyone has been yapping like the campaign season is done and over and the presumptive coronation plans are being made. Fuck that shit! There are still FBI findings to be released, more info needs to come out about that (even if Bernie - and we - are sick of hearing about her damned emails - the FBI and DoJ need to get on the ball and work overtime so we can know what the fuck they're going to do with HRC's illegal actions regarding a server in her home), and more people need to vote in more primaries, fer cryin' out loud! Slow down the propaganda, Moronic Media!!! You obviously do not speak for at least 45% of the American electorate who definitely want Bernie to be our next Dem candidate (and we still do not know who the Independent voters will choose; they won't get to vote until election day since they were barred from voting in many closed primary states.

The only thing I can think of at this point is to respond with "I have not voted yet!" (in BOLD CAPS if you like) every time you see a "news" story touting the pre-convention crowning of the presumptive candidate that DWS chose.

AND, include an email (or tweet, if you're on Twitter) to the "author" to remind them that Senator Bernie Sanders is still very much in the running (and use his full name since Moronic Media ignores Bernie in favor of their pre-crowned celebrity).

Reminding these "writers" that they've not done their research and that the primary process is NOT YET DONE may be the only way to get our point across to these amateurs. Of course, reading comprehension may not be their strongest talent either.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh....

You're entirely correct that we must support Bernie since he has our back and wants what's best for We the People. I know he said he can't do his job alone, so I don't expect any of this to be easy once Bernie is elected. We have to vote for down-ticket progressive Dems, and hound our Senators and Representatives like nippy little Corgis or Border Collies..., and, when necessary, get the bad ones primaried and replaced with sensible Senators and Representatives who can support Bernie and We the People. [If HRC is shoved down our throats by DWS & superdelegates and if HRC is "elected" by hacked e-voting machines and other machinations, I suspect the entire Congress will be replaced by senators and representatives who understand what the oath of office means.]

Completely agree with everything, and I really gotta see that episode of Maddow. I've been conflicted on her of late, but I pretty generally remain a fan. I put the link to Maddow's (sneering?) episode above in the edit remark, so you should be able to watch the video. I have watched her interviews with Bernie, and at first she seemed to genuinely like Bernie. Now...? Not so much. I suppose her bosses told her to curtail her courteousness toward Bernie and go to straight Hillbot propagandizing. I'm VERY disappointed in Rachel since Olbermann left.

There's a Reddit post that the DNC came back with a no answer to the letter from Bernie's lawyers. I hope Bernie locks up the convention tighter than a fucking drum!

I still want to rant about Markos insinuating that all Sanders' supporters are either male or young (or both). There are so many things to rant about!

I read some comments today on TOP and cannot believe how truly cruel some of them were. I am not missing that place.

I also noticed that kos commented today *a lot* more in his FP article than he usually does. I'll bet that's because his readership is going down and he's gotta start shit. Pays the bills, I guess.

Ya know why I wasn't as mad about kos' stupid FP article yesterday? Because it was utterly and totally pathetic. It's not even believable anymore, this "racism/sexism/racexism" (to quote NPK, ha) tangent kos goes off on all the fuckin' time. He's obsessed with this angle, because stuff and things and oo! shiny objects get more click hits!

Daily Kos has lost readership and that's a fact. The Ides of March saw to it that kos would lose community members, as well as respect, and he certainly did both spectacularly. If this wasn't such a blatant attempt at inciting a site-wide riot in order to get more page views, maybe I'd be more offended. Unfortunately, though, coming from kos now -- it's typical. This is the kinda shit he does in order to remain relevant within the Party. If he's not being paid by them, I'll eat my hat. I mean, if I had a hat to eat, I'd try to eat it and shit, but I don't have one, so ...

Anyway. Blum 3

No one is buying any of this reactionary crap but Hillary supporters, and that's not who he's trying to reach according to kos himself (he presented a challenge in yesterday's FP diary, and then went full-dickhead in the comments, accusing certain posters of throwing tantrums and stomping their feet and essentially acting like children. real goddamned mature). So WTF is this even about, right?! Does he actually believe the offensive bullshit he's spewing? Probably. Do I give a good goddamned anymore?

Nope. He can suck it.

And, of course, you're right: very junior high and very DNC. I don't want to be affiliated with those pricks anymore.

But yeah, me too. I am done. I'll vote a Democrat who shows conviction and spine and principles (Sanders just plugged for Feingold, for example, in a joint fundraiser), but otherwise, nah. I'm not voting for one single person who has endorsed Clinton. Ever. Not in this election or in any future election. Not one.

So that made voting in California really fun this year. I learned about some new candidates! Gave them my votes. Husband did too (he just hands me his ballot, and I fill it out).

Here's to hoping Sanders can run independently in the General. Otherwise, I'm voting Peace & Freedom Party, a small, California-specific party that occasional win local elections and have a great platform unless Bernie's on another ballot. Damned if I'm not. Damned if I expected to wind up in this place either; I've been voting for Democrats since the 90's. Sure, I had the good fortune of Lynn Woolsey as my rep for a long time, but I also voted for Kamala Harris, Feinstein, Pelosi, Boxer, Moonbeam, I've voted for every one of them. I'd vote Moonbeam again against Whitman (and he did NOT endorse Clinton), but the rest can go hang, to use the vernacular.

Time for a new party though. I'm not able to support what I am seeing from Democrats. They're not democratic. They're not even INTERESTED in my vote!

The Democratic Party is so 1990s. I would rather spit nails than vote for Hillary Clinton in the general, though; as you know, I really don't think I can do it. Straws, camels, etc.

I'm glad that Bernie endorsed Russ Feingold. I know Feingold isn't the greatest, but he is pretty fucking liberal and Bernie endorsed him. Plus also, Ron Johnson has been the senator from hell -- I'd like to replace him.

I totes understand about not voting for anyone who's endorsed Clinton. Her actions, and those of her supporters, have been reprehensible at times (see: all things Nevada). I think Nevada was a breaking point for many of us with regards to Hillary, or at least it was for me. There is no way I can vote for her now in the general. No way at all. I'll either vote Jill Stein or the Working Families Party or somesuch for the presidential, but I will vote downticket Dem. Wisconsin needs all the freaking help it can get. I'm not gonna be here forever. Blum 3

And yes, Nevada was my absolute last straw too. You know I liveblogged a Periscope of it for EIGHT hours? I got quoted in Rawstory for something I was kvetching about. It was election fraud, and I broke it right down. I am so clear, so clear, on what happened in Nevada that I could write a special for the freaking History Channel at this point. I was on everyone's open FB's cross-checking facts too. I've got so much dirt on Andrew Davey, the guy who "broke" the so-called "chair" story, you don't even want to know. And guess who he links back to? Other than Roberta Lange. Guess who? Just guess? Yeah. You guessed correctly. You may now commence vomiting on a permanent basis. He's that corrupt. It's two-degrees of Kevin Bacon time.

Come say hey anytime. I'm trying to say hi here too (someone mentioned your epic rant there). We are fully cross-transferable. Sub's grown a lot. We're deciding what next. Something. Waiting for some next sign. And I'm about to leave for the summer abroad with no net… here about one more week. Back in early July. Horrible timing.

This is exactly how Marcy Wheeler got her start, too, so you need to write a COMPLETE SYNOPSIS of everything that happened in Nevada, from start to finish, and publish that shit. It will be a barnburner!

I did know that you liveblogged the whole thing, but I have no effing clue what Periscope is/does/whatever and I think I know maybe 1/4 of the actual goings on that day, etc.

Her inability to control the profit over people sectors of the economy will worsen our serious predicament from which Bernie is trying to extricate us. Any action on climate change, unaffordable health care and prescription drugs, runaway Wall Street thievery, provoked wars, and mass incarceration will have to be vetted with the fossil fuel industry, the medical insurance and prescription drug industries, the finance industry, the Military Industrial Complex and the Prison Industrial Complex, respectively, and nothing of consequence will be done as the media creates the usual noise machine to distract and we slide deeper into the whirlpool. Clinton fatigue will reappear very quickly as we watch Hillary and Bill's imperiousness and unaccountability. We need to answer this as soon as these primaries are over with a People's Party that will win local and national races and take us into a peaceful, clean, fair future.

What a gift. Timing is everything. We must make the most of this, and this here tweet above is a pretty good benchmark. OMG, it nails everybody, all at once. The half-faces over the Wall of Mexico. I laughed for 20 minutes! We should just have at it in all the comments here. Twitter is having a field day already, and it's only Saturday morning, lol!

And holy shit, this straightforward straighening-out-of-your-thinking by the one and only Shiz is a thing of sheer beauty, it gets its own separate post and thank you for writing it--I am proud to share it. If you, too, don't Get It after reading it, well, then, for you there is no hope...

LOL that would make some real tweeter fun also. Esp if an artist could do Bernie as the Big Bad Wolf and Hillary and Trump as the two little pigs.

I"m done with the DNC. Registration fraud happened to us - so guess what, they can keep their fucking Democrat registration...

When I get my fucking right to register - right now it's EMPTY due to "some confusion"!!!! I am just hoping I can fucking "VOTE" in November.. talk about voter suppression.

Secry of State has been called and awaiting there call after they've gone through our case.

So glad to see your incredible rantage here Shiz.

room. You go, Shiz. And Bernie goes, too--all the way to the convention. With permits for big ol' demonstrations in the city of brotherly and sisterly love, unless you're a superdelegate glaring at Bernie Sanders for waking up a helluva lot of voters to the lucrative little con game both parties have had going for decades, until Sanders had to go and blow the whistle on it. Clearly NOT a member of the club, that one.

Oh, and that big big-tent Democratic Party party in Philly? Seems it's underfunded to the tune of $10-16 million large. Maybe the DNC can send out an email blast, begging, guilting, finger-wagging, blaming, fear-mongering. You know, its standard fare. Or sell naming rights to the convention. Or take a cut on the sleepover gig the Clintons had going with the Lincoln Bedroom, if they make it back to the White House and resurrect that "use what you have" moneymaker. (So frugal.)

Anyway, it ain't over 'til it's over, and it's not. Building a movement is a long game, but an early win would be swell.

We'll be watching those unDemocratic SDs. And we'll be taking names. Names to primary. #BrandNewCongress. #BernieOrBust #NeverHillary

Lungs have been missed, Shiz. Seriously, you remember last time we talked, and I said "HELL NO, NEVER…" and meant it?

Oh yes. This is why.

It's like a bad Buzzfeed quiz: is it an A.) Democracy OR B.) Monarchy?

Hell YES we are going to the convention. I've been canvassing here in California. We're still FUCKING VOTING last I checked. Does the Democratic party SERIOUSLY want to disenfranchise a state which is 1/3rd Latino and which just had almost 1.8 million new registrations, almost all for people under 45 years old, and some huge majority as Democrats? Why yes, yes they do. Isn't that interesting? And here I claimed that they were worried, concerned, upset about disenfranchising minority voters. Well guess what? New Mexico, California, and Puerto Rico haven't fucking voting, and they are goddamned FILLED with people who ain't white.

So they -- and everyone claiming "white privilege" when people VOTE and KEEP VOTING -- can take that, roll it up in a tidy little dollar bill, stick it into whatever white powder's on their latte liberal 1% coffee table, and snort the fuck out of it.

Nice to see you!

there's absolutely no reason Clinton and her supporters need to rush this fucking thing like it's a goddamned church picnic.

Church picnics are like sex: if you want to rush through them, you're doing it wrong!!

In truth, I haven't even read anything other than... you've been warned.

But I know that in about 3 minutes I'm going to be laughing my ass off and sending out a V for Victory with my fist raised in solidarity, here all by myself.

OT: did everyone see Bernie on Real Time with Bill Maher? OMG it was great!

Anyone interested in a transcript of it?

if I'm reading that right, although perhaps liberating too, but still, that's just ridiculous. I don't go there at all now. Not even to peek. Honestly, I don't care enough to -- it's depressing.

I've got to go see the Maher bit! My computer is being testy about messages.

Great to see you here though!

I had forgotten there is actually such a thing as a liberal politician. And the Democratic Party's all-but-unanimous revulsion toward Bernie and his voters demonstrates just how rare he is.
