The camera club I belong to has a monthly photo challenge subject. The subject for Sept. was patterns and repetition. These were all taken at the San Diego Zoo in mid Sept.
Nothing to do with patterns, just a little tune I like.
Sam and I hiked up to the waterfall today and even though there was not much water coming down it was still pleasant and the sound was soothing.
They look blurry but it’s the uploader size limit. The colors are very muted this year except for the yellows. I was going to go to the Unitas but the temperature fell big time so I’m again just over the mountain from home. Sam thinks this camping stuff is quite fun. She is so proud of herself for treeing a squirrel. They had a nice argument in a tongue only they could understand.

You my not have a lot of fall colors but at least you have some. The trail in the second photo looks inviting.

I woke up this morning determined to drink less, eat right, and exercise.
But that was four hours ago when I was younger and full of hope.
Been here since Tuesday and after it cooled way down it’s been pleasant. Sam thinks that this camping stuff is very cool. We’ve taken quite a few walks and hikes where she does triple the miles I do. She ate something that isn’t agreeing with her tummy and says she doesn’t feel well. It’s been a nice break from just being at home. Hopefully next year we can get to the Unitas. But it would have been below freezing higher up. Brrr.

I love taking photos of trails or paths or roads where you can’t see where they are going. In the foreground of the waterfall that spot is quite steep. Almost 45 degrees but Sam fell down a path into the ravine and it was the only way back up. People need to use a rope to get up and down it. She ran up it like it was nothing. Good thing too cuz I don’t know how I’d of gotten her back up. Kids I tell ya. I got more grey hairs watching her take risks.

Great pics Janis! On the second one it looks like a satellite image of an alluvial plain with cumulus clouds. Wonderful patterns.

I had some stuff in the 70's that made the best patterns imaginable. Was from Berkeley.
A frameful of flowers is one place I can dig some busy bokeh.

For the most part everyone studying college level zoology or botany in the 60's, 70's and since until relatively very recently was taught they were for oxygenating the roots. This is now not believed to be the case. It remains a mystery.
The key difference to ID Bald (the main U.S. kneed cypress) from Montezuma (the Mexican one) is 'does it have knees?'. There is only one patch of Montezuma Cypress in the U.S. on the banks of the Rio Grande at Salineno. Nifty spot.
