A tough time figuring out what the financial outcome is. The stock market is rejoicing (probably because they see less taxes, no regulation and massive deficit spending). But there is a reckoning coming. What happens when Trump really tries to impose tariffs? What happens when he starts a trade war with China? What happens when he tries to press our NATO allies? I'm in a cash position.

Yeah, I know - but he says that we get an unrecoverable world wide depression. We are looking at deficit spending at best and outright collapse at worst.

Actually, if Trump really ramps up federal spending on infrastructure as he's promising, even with borrowed money, it's going to give a powerful stimulus to the economy, period.
It's the one thing he could conceivably do that would actually make him look good on 'managing the economy' and could even give him a second term.
It's a real good site, I rec'd it to jtc awhile ago to try to link it, but I think he either was to busy and forgot about the rec since it was at the time of fundraising to save c99.

sorry...took awhile to post, long enough that I forgot if I'd clicked "save". Apparently I had.
Which reminds me of something I read in Highlights for Children about 55 years ago. It was a short bit about a school test concerning the proper use of "had" or "had had". It went thusly:
"On the school test Laurie, where Susie had had "had", had had "had had". "Had had" had had the teacher's approval.
Hey, this is just like the New Yorker or old newspapers where they would throw any old thing in as a filler and sometimes they'd make them entertaining. Like the time in 1963 when the New York Times had a small bit of column to fill so they wrote two sentences about a British band causing riots.
moments after he made each promise. He is a con-man and a very good one apparently. (Note to self: So was Obama)
Trump is going to continue rigging the system so that he can multiply his billion -- if indeed he has a billion.
If he even builds a wall, it will be after he invests in the companies that will profit by building it.
So my prediction, the bubbles inflate at twice the speed now -- until they explode. Stawks already looking Bubblicious.
PS. Obama already working the backrooms to pass TPP during lame duck session.

Donnie The #ShitHole Douchebag. Fake Friend to the Working Class. Real Asshole.
Democrats are asking, “How could this have happened?”
But to millions of Americans who feel that the system isn’t working for them, who haven’t been part of the nation’s economic recovery, who think Washington doesn’t listen to them, it was something that needed to happen. Their choice was clear: Donald Trump was the imperfect vessel for their frustration.
“The message to the elites (of both parties) is, ‘You’re out of touch,’” said Mo Fiorina, a professor of political science at Stanford University and author of “Disconnect: The Breakdown of Representation in American Politics.”
“If you’re leaning toward giving the middle finger to the elites, then a vote for Trump makes sense,” he said.
The people who voted for Trump didn’t care that he offered slogans instead of plans. They didn’t care that independent fact-checkers like Politifact found most of the things he said were factually wrong. They shrugged at Trump outsourcing his signature ties and clothing to overseas workers, just like the factory owners who closed the plants where they used to work.
They cared more that Trump ridiculed bad trade deals supported by both Republicans and Democrats, because he said they were killing the kind of jobs Americans had — or used to have.
And in the process, the gut-level frustration felt by Trump’s working-class, white supporters and others sick of Washington gridlock went under the radar of nearly every pollster and pundit with a Twitter handle or a regular gig at MSNBC. Early exit polls showed Trump winning 2 of every 3 voters without college degrees.
They were so motivated that they ignored his boast that he planned to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. They didn’t think he’d be able do it, but they liked that he said it.
“Both parties, Republicans and Democrats, have been neglecting noneducated white voters,” said Carson Bruno, assistant dean at the Pepperdine University School of Public Policy.
Nowhere was the Clinton campaign’s tone deafness more apparent than across the Rust Belt states like Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin, each of which President Obama won twice.
is the time and opportunity--if Leftists are willing to take it--to form a new, totally independent Left Party/Coalition in time to be competitive in 2020.

Obama lost.

Democratic lawmakers lost.

We all lost.

The planet wouldn't have gained anything by having Hillary Clinton as president. The only part of climate change that interests her is the part that puts money in her bank account. If environmentalists could afford to pay her a quarter-million dollars for a one hour speech, she'd gladly give that speech and then hide the transcript.
is the best I've seen so far, and he too emphasizes the Brexit relationship. He also addresses something I think is more important and something I think the establishment Democrats were entirely deaf to, something expressed by a question:
Who do we think sends their sons and daughters to be soldiers in these wars we chortle about over cocktails in D.C.? Progressives? Educated, well-off elites? Or low-income Americans whose kids have no other employment alternatives? Which American kids are coming home in body bags or traumatized or sick from the depleted uranium in our weapons?
Democrats, Trump, and the Ongoing, Dangerous Refusal to Learn the Lesson of Brexit

… The indisputable fact is that prevailing institutions of authority in the West, for decades, have relentlessly and with complete indifference stomped on the economic welfare and social security of hundreds of millions of people. While elite circles gorged themselves on globalism, free trade, Wall Street casino-gambling, and endless wars (wars that enriched the perpetrators and sent the poorest and most marginalized to bear all their burdens), they completely ignored the victims of their gluttony, except when those victims piped up a bit too much — when they caused a ruckus — and were then scornfully condemned as troglodytes who were the deserved losers in the glorious, global game of meritocracy...
-Greed is not a virtue.
-Socialism: the radical idea of sharing.
-Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

are very much alike. They travel in the same circles, with the same kind of gatekeepers, and nomenklatura and black limos to support them.
Recession is right all the signs point to it. Resource depletion, the unraveling of globalization, over population etc. Maybe just maybe Trump will get us out of the Middle East. I doubt the deep state will let him. I have this dark feeling that we are in the grip of the the fourth turning (or whatever collapse/chaos paradigm you like. Sadly we are in for a royal King George 3rd mash up with Trump playing the gracious host as grifter in chief in the White House. With any luck the Saudi royals will get their heads chopped, and we might get single payer several years from now.
Trump will be walking back all his bullshit and end up being the new boss same as the old boss. Alas. It's called Thermodynamic Collapse. EROEI. Politics can't change it.

because it's easier and less painful to believe that more than 60,000,000 of your fellow Americans are idiotic, misogynistic and racist xenophobes than it is to admit the DNC ran a singularly despised and distrusted candidate.

It's hard to say
On one side you have the gutting of regulations and corporate taxes.
On the other side you have the impending recession.
Krugman...
Yeah, I know - but he says that we get an unrecoverable world wide depression. We are looking at deficit spending at best and outright collapse at worst.

Got a link to Krugman's comments?
Really? He actually said that?

Krugman can't add
blames Jill for Florida.
Nice one Paul.
Florida results:
Trump: 4,605,515
Clinton: 4,485,745
Johnson: 206,007
Stein: 64,019
Clinton plus Stein: 4,549,764...this 56,000 short of Trump.
If jerks like Krugman couldn't punch left, they'd have little to
say.
He helps spread both the Obama Boy and the Bernie Bro nonsense. He or someone close to him is probably on some Clinton payroll or another.

Everything is up in the air
his appointments might be a tell as to what might happen.
OTOH clowngress has many he might hate as for the most part
they endorsed her.
Another factor might be whether or not Schumer retains his position
or he has a challenge, I'm hoping the latter.
Right now diversify is best, cash holding won't hurt at all, just my

May be a recount in New Hampshire. Reporter didn't say 'why.' NT

is 1,500 votes, with HRC in the lead.
