Dear Hillary, This isn't going to Work.

Don't get me wrong, I know how much money you've spent trying to tell me how great you are. I understand how you've arranged an entire intervention with your friends to tell me why I need to give you a second chance. I get how much you think you deserve this.

But here's the thing. It's not you. It's me.

At this point in my life as a country, I need somebody who's going to be dependable. I need stability in my life. I need to have the planet fixed up, and the infrastructure taken care of. You're not the person who can do that for me.

I mean, you're still hanging out with your Saudi and Wall Street Friends. They're giving you lots of fun presents, and I know you've been telling me how great the work you're doing with it is. Here's the thing Though... I don't see any of the money you tell me about here in our neighborhoods. It all seems to be sent over to the defense contractors house, or the lobbyists house, or the fossil fuel house, while the kids are stuck eating ramen and praying we don't get sick, because we don't have enough money in the national checking account for a doctor.

So, maybe it is you, a little. Maybe there's some behaviors that you do that I can no longer enable. Because you keep telling me that It's my fault the relationship sucks, and I wonder why in god's name you'd want to stay in a relationship with a "Loser" like me if it really is all my fault. You keep going on and on about how it's MY friends that are wrong. I mean, I like the Environmentalists, the Peaceniks, the Poor and the Union members. I know you think they're all just conspiring against you, but be honest, do you REALLY think they all get together and bitch about you? I mean, what's the benefit? What good is it for all of us to really just hate on YOU?

Look, I get it Hillary. You think your life isn't complete without us. You need us. Well, the truth is that we don't really need you anymore. We had a few fun years when you got dressed up as a progressive and we were really into that. However, you weren't very convincing, and I know it was more of a game to you then a lifestyle choice. It hurts, especially when you spent all that money on the outfits, to have to admit that it's just not fun to play along with you when you really don't get the rules of the progressive game.

So really, I just can't stay in a relationship with somebody who puts me down, belittles me, and takes me for granted. Your honeymoon behavior is nice, but I've noticed that you never say nice things about ME when you try to sweet talk me. You always say nice things about yourself, and then call me names. And that hurts. Really it hurts. Especially when you get your media friends to try to guilt me into saying nice things about you that you want to hear.

And to be straight with you, I don't really like your tough woman act. Yeah, I'm into that kind of thing in James Cameron movies, but you haven't quite got it. I like a woman who stands her ground and doesn't fight when she doesn't have to. I like people who are tough because of circumstances, not because of mindless aggression and trying to prove that she's a badass. Honestly I don't like men who pull that crap either.

So, I'm leaving you Hillary. Don't bother calling and asking for money, because I know you don't need it. And NO, I'm not going over to the Republican's house, so don't look for me there. Yes, I know you aren't as bad as they are and they'd beat me worse, and that's why I'm going to a place where I'm not going to get beaten at all. And why do you care where I go? I thought I was an Idiot who would come crawling back eventually...

For your information, I'm going to get my own place. I have a few friends who are thinking about coming over and we might... I don't CARE about the Election infrastructure at your place, we'll be fine... As I was saying, Bernie and Jill were talking about maybe coming over, and we might have a barbecue. No, you're not welcome. No, neither are your friends if all they want to talk about is how stupid we are for having a party without you.

I didn't want this to end angry, Hillary, but you're just not getting the message. I'm calling my lawyer about a restraining order. No, it's not ok because of who you are.

Very nicely done and well written- concise and to the point. Time to move forward and not look back. I look forward to meeting with you and others on Sunday.

By the way, the date (May 1st) of the c99er meeting is a significant date from a historical political movement stand point. To me that is a good sign.

so we were down at People's, a food co-op on SE 21st and I was reading the bulletin board. As you'd imagine from the name of the place and what is is, there's a lot of political correctness on the announcements board and in the advertising...lots of yoga teachers and such.

But what impressed me (and I might have mentioned this before) is how the staff responds to questions, suggestions and criticism.

First, a slight digression. Here in Portland we have this company, New Seasons, that started out as an alternative to Safeway and Fred Meyer's. They had reasonably decent food and a good selection of healthy stuff. Over the years New Seasons has become more and more corporate, phasing out the good food and bringing in "white bread" style food. They also stopped telling us exactly where the meat and/or fish comes from. It used to be "so and so Farm in Umpqua". Now it's "Oregon" or "California" which tells you exactly nothing. So I wrote a card, dropped it in the suggestion box, about how they better be careful or they'd start losing health-conscious customers. They put it up on the board with the comment that we always had the choice of shopping elsewhere. The nerve! Then a board member held a fund raiser for Jeb Bush. Some lady wrote a card protesting that and the New Seasons response was "we like to be inclusive to represent the neighborhood". Well the neighborhood does not consist of Jeb Bush supporters. It's like 67% Democratic, 10% Republican. Ok, back to People's...

So I was looking at the cards at People's and the replies were so thoughtful! The contrast was astounding. One customer/member ('cause it's a co-op so it might have been either a customer or a member) talked about a product and how it wasn't all that good for some reason. The reply was that it worked for enough people to continue carrying it but the argument the original writer made was so well reasoned that they would discontinue it! Another card talked of a product sold there that originated on the East Coast and therefore created an environmental problem due to the extended transportation and fuel consumption plus air pollution. The reply was that the product was good enough to continue being sold but there would be a general discussion among those running the store about the entire topic of buying local.

What a difference in attitude from New Seasons!

Sorry...saw the word "People's" and got very much sidetracked!

They are definitely starting to get a "Whole Paycheck" vibe going on.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this change in style is a lead up to a nice cushy buyout.

Course I'm paranoid and trust a corporation the same distance I can comfortably throw it.

although I haven't tried the rooftop patio yet. The store seemed too dark and squeezed in, plus they had the same stuff. Lots of Franz bread. Our closest one is the Hawthorne store but we often go to Seven Corners. That's right down the street from People's.

I grew up in an abusive household. When I reached adulthood, I left. As an adult, I refuse to be abused. So, Hillary, your verbal abuse has no power over me. You cannot win my vote by calling me names or by fear-mongering or guilt-tripping.

Perhaps you will have a "Saul on the road to Damascus" moment and turn over a new leaf, becoming a true progressive at last. If so, you could possibly win the vote of many Bernie supporters. If not, well, President Trump looks more and more likely.

And What do I mean by a True Disciple? I mean Freaking Biblical Disciple. As in Matthew 19:21

"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me."

Not that I am a big fan of Christianity, but Hillary claims to be a fan. Money where mouth is comes to mind.

I wouldn't even trust that personally. It would look like another gamble of getting greater wealth down the road and continuing the dynasty. After a crime with the level of death and destruction that was Iraq a person would need to go into seppuku territory just to prove true contrition and sincerity (to say nothing of earning forgiveness- and I'm not even one of the truly wronged parties, good luck with them!)

Yes I realize that would mean it is impossible to get my vote.

More like, were going to vote Clinton NO MATTER WHAT, and her rapidly shifting position just gives cover to their allegiance.

Come to Think of it, one of her biggest supporters, R.A. Salvatore, tipped his hand pretty early towards what he thinks is acceptable when he wrote "Kingdoms of Alamur" . In that one, the "Hero" and I use the term loosely, Is considered incredibly awesome because they can change their positions, skills, etc, on a whim by forking over enough money...

Does this sound suspiciously familiar to those acquainted with the DLC's tactics?

If we're talking break up ....
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXIuAz7aryo width:420 height:315]

When this song came out on the radio EVERY man that heard it busted out laughing. Nose beer flying laughter.
A woman can be difficult to be around some times, and apparently EVERY man has met that woman.
Now before you crucify me. How many times do you think women have said 'oh I just could have killed him' ?
The song is a way over the top expression of the frustration men can feel with women at times.
It is, and was meant to be an anti-violence message. And it was to nearly ALL men.
But nearly wasn't good enough. Shortly after the song appeared on the radio, the news was reporting women killed by their husband and boyfriends. The song wasn't on the radio long in Omaha, 2, 3 weeks max. The way I understand it the band pulled it off the airwaves.
It's a funny song, maybe someone hasn't heard it and it fits in this thread. If the song leads you to reflect on the ridiculousness of men letting their frustrations lead to hurting their wives and girlfriends, then the song is working as intended.
