Personally, I believe all of this kind of "outreach" by the major parties is intended to reinforce the basic idea that voting matters, which implies that the Democrats could and would pass a whole bunch of left wing bills if they can win enough Seats in Congress. That is nonsense, of course. The Dems had both Houses during Obama's first term, and passed nothing that could be called "left wing."
