Album of the Week 10-25-25
Afternoon folks!
There's some great blues for you all to listen to this week. Starting off, there's an album of mostly live recordings from the American Folk Blues Festival in Europe from 1962 with a great lineup of talent including Memphis Slim, Muddy Waters, Otis Spann, Matt Guitar Murphy and Sonny Boy Williamson. Following that are albums from Eddy Clearwater and west coast harmonica player William Clarke. After that it's on to the rock department with a band you've likely heard of, Los Lobos recorded live and we finish up in the diversity department with a 1980's album from Canadian folk-rock guitarist and songwriter Bruce Cockburn.
Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

afternoon qms...
glad you are enjoying the collection. i hope that lots of folks do.
have a good one!
Thank you joe
I'm glad that great festival in 1962 was recorded. Lucky Parisians, and other Europeans to have enjoyed it live.
At some point in the late 70s I realised there was some kind of disconnect in appreciation of American Blues and Jazz, between its origins and other countries and cultures. I’m glad your life long appreciation of the blues is available to all.
It was fun going from Muddy Waters and others, to the more electrified blues of Eddie Clearwater.
afternoon janis...
those recordings of the european festival are really great stuff. the artists that are on the tour function as backing musicians for each other, so you get really great versions of their tunes. i've been uploading a bunch of recordings from that series, i have almost all of it in my collection, so there will be more in time.
have a good one!
I look forward
to listening to more of the series you have in your collection.
Much appreciation joe.
