The Fall...
...It is the start of the season, the fate of US empire, and the future of the U$D. Autumn is off to a lovely start here in NE Alabama. The wildflowers are outstanding this year. Peak leaf color is at least a month away, but you can already see the start of the change. The US empire belittles itself almost daily. Many are wondering why Hegseth has called all the generals and admirals (some 800) together next week. Is it a new war strategy against Iran, or Venezuela, or ...? Or is it to get them to swear a loyalty oath like Hitler? Perhaps we'll find out next week. As to the dollar, I do most our our grocerying and every week the cost is higher. The Italian wines I like have really jumped in price. I wonder if it is the tariffs. Well, all that and more below the fold.

Israeli-Aligned Billionaires Seize TikTok in Battle for U.S. Narrative Control
The White House has announced that the forced sale of TikTok will be finalized this week. The new ownership led by Larry Ellison - the largest individual donor to the IDF - will take control of U.S. user data and the algorithm which the White House says will be "retrained".
Ellison, who made his fortune developing Oracle - a database system he originally built for the CIA - already controls CBS, Paramount, MTV, Comedy Central, Showtime, Nickelodeon (which makes kids shows) as well as Channel 10 in Australia and Channel 5 in the UK. Ellison is also expected to finalize control over Warner Bros. Discovery (including CNN, HBO and the Discovery channel) before the end of 2025.
Even before the forced sale is finalised, censorship of TikTok content critical of Israel, including of the deal itself, has reached extreme levels as the platform moves to align with its prospective new owners. Fox – a Murdoch asset - is also seeking to join the Ellison consortium, a move that could enable cross-promotion between Fox and TikTok, further tightening the Israeli-aligned information bubble.
Disapproval of what Israel is doing in Gaza has risen to 60% of the US population, nearly double the approval rate of 32%.
The U.S. still has over three years of Trump left. Israeli-aligned Jewish billionaires control OpenAI, Google, Meta/Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp, Palantir, CBS, HBO, and most of Conde Nast (Reddit, Vogue, The New Yorker, Wired, GQ, Vanity Fair) as well as numerous Hollywood studios, regional papers and radio stations.
Europe, meanwhile, remains largely absent, offering little real competition in the information space. Its one real success story? Telegram, which it managed to comprehensively alienate after France arrested its founder, supposedly for not handing over enough user data.
Will the EU and other U.S. allies align with the “Israelified” TikTok algorithm, or attempt to create a politicised alternative of their own?
Decentralised alternatives like Keet and Nostr offer strong resistance to censorship but are still young. Larger platforms like Telegram and Rednote carry serious risks of censorship, including eventual sell-off to other interests. For users the sweet spot may be to use both. One for political reliability, the others for a (politically temporary) audience.

Lot of great interviews there. Am going through them while perusing football (multi tasking).
Snow coated the roof of motor home yesterday in anticipation of week of rain starting Monday.
Still harvesting green beans, bell peppers, onions, hot peppers, and another crop of lettuce and herbs.
Troops have hit Portland, Oregon to eradicate non-existent crime. I am starting to suspect this is actually in anticipation of a march to war somewhere (or everywhere) and martial law being imposed nationwide.
Of course, the cities are where the anti-war advocates are.

My hypothesis is the military excursions overseas came home. We can watch the decline.

McCabe on the Comey indictment
I've listened to a several legal discussions about the Comey case. No one in VA US attorney's office wanted to file it. So basically Trump installed his personal lawyer as DA with zero criminal law experience to file any POS indictment to toll the statute. It may not get bootstrapped past the statute of limitations anyway. The substantive theory of the case isn't even factually described. McCabe describes several other defects in the case which could potentially derail it. Here's an interview with him, it's lengthy but informative. Most of the other reporting on the case is just partisan media narrative of poor quality.

I don't know about McCabe
....because my focus remains on the Big Picture — the attempted overthrow of the 2016 Presidential election by operatives from the Obama Administration, against the backdrop of the bogus Russia Hoax. I have no particular interest in Comey and his lies. That seems to be Trump's personal fixation. If I were McCabe, I would lower my profile.
Mine is not a pro-Trump position, it's an anti-corruption position.
These hosts are trying to flesh out a defense for the Democrats who were deeply involved in the attempted overthrow of the 2016 presidential election. But in the end, the outcome of these legal actions does not really matter. The corruption of the Federal Government will continue on, unabated.
