Just Some Wind
Been a busy week on the farm. The windstorms that happened here over the weekend brought a huge part of a tree down across our 'house' garden, right over the potato bed! I still have a 6 by 4 foot area left of potatoes to harvest, and the tree was right on top of that so it had to be cleaned off as soon as possible.
Luckily, the fallen tree did not break the fence, at least, not drastically. A picket or two are broken and the top rail of the fence has split, however, the fence has not fallen down, and it's still useful and keeping Nikko pup from gaining access to the open fields. Phewww.
The broken tree lying across a wheelbarrow (one can barely see it) which is holding part of the potato harvest!
Anyway, I've spent the last 3 days cleaning up the tree. I've been working somewhat slowly, cutting all the branches off with clippers, then cutting the thicker limbs with a hand saw. I made myself carry every bundle of branches to a huge pile which we fed to the goats, telling myself that walking was a good thing, even if I had to do it over and over and over again 
. Hubby helped me yesterday and cut even more limbs. So now we've only just got a little bit of the tree left to remove. It's on the other side of the fence, out of the potato bed, and it's the part of the tree trunk that needs a chainsaw to do. Unfortunately our chainsaw is still at my Mom's; left there after we broke up a tree that fell on her yard a few months ago!
So, I'm feeling kind of proud of myself for doing all this tree cleaning up. Of course, Nikko helped a LOT. He's been really good at carrying little branches away after they've been cut. Did he put them on the heap of branches which we fed to the goats? No. How's about the compost heap? No. How's about right where you are walking? Yes! But he was a help!

I planted this tree...
about 30 years ago, so probably it was 'time'. Sometimes we get crazy winds here, but not like other places. I greatly admire those who go through such high winds regularly!

He said that he was calling people to reassure them because some are worried about the election. I replied, 'Why? It's not gonna change anything?' And he agreed. Kamala or Trump, who cares? Both suck to listen to, both make word-salads. 'Objection, Non-responsive' makes sense!

Heh, got two semi-major tasks finished and lost track
of the days as a result. Kept thinking it was Friday, probably because I could now move on to other tasks, projects and errands. Ah well, Thursday here I come. The year is winding down which creates an odd clash of finishing off while getting ready.

I kept thinking Thursday was Friday too. So now, here I am, treating Friday like Thursday. Weird week! Potatoes are doing well, so to speak. I need to make some Leek and Tatty (Leek and Potatoe, said in Geordie English) soup soon.

I am curious about The Netherlands indictment of Gates, and others. What will the US do to avoid his extradition? Hmmm...
Voter turnout for early voting is very high. I will try to get done with it after my office closes tomorrow at 2 pm.

I gotta get my voting done, I guess. Like E1 wrote in his open thread a few days ago, there are a hell of a lot of people on the ballot for president. At least I get to pick from a wide range, and some aren't awful! Got about 100 pages to go through in the voters' pamphlets. Sheez.
Nikko needs to learn to clean floors next; to clean up the messes he makes while chewing and playing. Of course, Jaska never learned that either so... I guess I will just remain hopeful
