Just a few minutes ago I ran through all three cable "news" channels to check on the obsession of the day. All three channels were covering live a press conference in New Orleans featuring the Governor of Louisiana and some big shot from the FBI. It seems like every fifth word uttered by both the studio talking heads and the august speakers at the briefing was "terrorist." The obsession of the minute is establishing whether "Jabbar" was in cahoots with ISIS -- or merely inspired by the infamous terrorist organization.

It seems to this jaundiced citizen at the end of the world (as we know it) that the Script Writers have woken up to the staleness of Covid and Putin as justifications for censoring public discussion and for more warfare.

Add up the three incidents of weirdos taking pot shots at Trump and killing some insurance tycoon along with the exploding cybertruck in Vegas and the Quarter Craziness on New Years Eve and the trend is obvious. Either this shit has all been hoked up -- OR it is just random violence. In either case we are already hearing macho bluster from the yahoos at the presser in NOLA. "We must hunt them down and bring them to justice!" Sleepy Joe says we are evaluating whether the Vegas exploding truck affair is connected with the New Orleans massacre.

Now it looks like an episode of NCIS.

This paradigm worked like a dream 24 years ago.
