Open Thread Image.jpg

It's difficult to keep up to date in the rapid news cycle these days....from assassination to withdrawals, congress cheering for genocide, Yemen and Israel trading attacks, the EU preventing peace in Ukraine as Ukraine targets EU members, Hungry and Slovakia... while China is uniting the Palestinians, and Russia is working toward peace between Syria and Türkiye. Whatta world. Round and round, faster and faster...

hqdefault-2090565408.jpg

As this busy news cycle continues, there were many insightful interviews this week. Let's begin with a nice selection of them...

Pepe's geopolitical analysis with an Asian focus is always interesting to me

Multipolar World, Ukraine, Iran, Palestine, Yemen with Pepe Escobar and Richard Medhurst
(1 hour)
China Has Achieved Escape Velocity: It Is Now Unstoppable (Pepe Escobar)
"The plenum proved once more that “socialism with Chinese characteristics” – or, for the recalcitrant, Chinese-modified capitalism – is “people-centric”. The supreme values are national interest and the people’s interests – attested by the fact that large private corporations remain under the strategic control of the CPC."
China throws clout behind Palestine The Beijing Declaration cements the idea that global conflict resolution is now Made in China. But it also throws a wrench in US–Israeli efforts to manufacture a collaborator Palestinian government after the war in Gaza...
The concept of China as a peacemaking superpower is now so established that after the Iran–Saudi Arabia rapprochement and the signing of the Beijing Declaration, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba chose to tell his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing that Kiev is now finally ready to negotiate the end of the NATO–Russia proxy war in Ukraine.

Larry Johnson is another analyst I respect...

Larry C. Johnson on Ukraine's Collapse: Is Hope Lost? -
Is Israel Facing a Catastrophic Downfall? (1 hour)
Larry also discusses the China Palestine meeting as well as the Russian Syria-Turkey talks.

Lavrov has been quite outspoken about the west in the last couple of weeks. First in a UN speech...
Lavrov's UN speech last week is worth the read...

Last century, George Orwell predicted the essence of the rules-based order in the novel Animal Farm: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” It means that you are allowed to do what you wish if you follow orders from the ruling leader. But if you dare to protect your national interests, you will be declared an outlaw and beleaguered by sanctions.
Washington’s hegemonistic policy has been the same for decades. Absolutely all schemes of Euro-Atlantic security were based on America’s domination, including the subjugation of Europe and the “containment” of Russia. The main role in this was assigned to NATO, which has ultimately tramped down the European Union that had been created to serve Europeans. The alliance has unceremoniously privatised OSCE bodies in brazen violation of the Helsinki Final Act.
The unrestrained enlargement of NATO, which went on for years contrary to Moscow’s warnings, has also provoked the Ukraine crisis that began with the state coup organised by Washington in February 2014 to seize full control of Ukraine and use the neo-Nazi regime they brought to power to prepare an attack on Russia. When Petr Poroshenko, and after him Vladimir Zelensky, waged a war against their own citizens in Donbass, outlawed Russian education, Russian culture, Russian media and the Russian language and banned the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, nobody in the West noticed that, and nobody demanded that their wardens in Kiev “observe the proprieties” and respect international conventions on the rights of national minorities or the Constitution of Ukraine, which stipulates respect for these rights. It is to eliminate these threats to the national security of Russia, to protect the people who consider themselves part of Russian culture and live on the land that their ancestors developed for centuries, as well as to save them from legal and physical extermination that the special military operation began.

He does a good job laying out the situation and how it could be resolved.

And after the speech he held a press conference...
Lavrov's Stunning Press Conference On Multipolarity.

(12 min excerpt - full presser here)

The Puppeteer Arrives...
Bibi arrived in DC to large protests and an obedient captured congress. The seals all clapped for Bibi's butchery and lies in congress this week.

MrFishBibiJuly26.jpg

The killing continues... Chas Freeman provides a pretty good analysis below.

Netanyahu & the Stooges in DC (34 min)

Scott was outraged about Bibi's address. (20 min)

Scott Ritter: Netanyahu Just ATTACKED America as Israel Loses War on All Fronts ft. Dan Kovalik
Scott Ritter GOES OFF on Benjamin Netanyahu for suggesting to Congress that Americans protesting his visit were "Iranian proxies" and gives a sober assessment of Israel's deteriorating military and political position as its war enters month ten. Author and Human Rights Lawyer Dan Kovalik also joined to provide a full analysis of what Netanyahu's attack on America says about US politics at this stage of history.

Max, Aaron, and Anya discuss the DC protests and Bibi's lies. (about 30 min)
Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate cover the gut-wrenching spectacle of Benjamin Netanyahu's welcome to Washington and report back from the mass protests that met him at the US Capitol.

US politics is really a joke.
The Duran interviewed Robert Barnes this week in a wide ranging discussion of many of the moving parts in the US.

Biden passes "torch" to Kamala w/ Robert Barnes (Live) (2 hours)
Roberts hypothesis of the big plan to assassinate Trump, blame Iran, and bring Bibi in the drive a new war home is interesting. He's discusses the idea fairly early in the interview.

Larry interviewed Bill Binney this week looking at CrowdStrike and the deep state.

Larry C. Johnson and Bill Binney on the CrowdStrike and the Russian Hack of the DNC Emails (1 hour)
Bill says it quite clearly, the US is a police state.

The (S)Election.

I thought this outsider explains US elections accurately...

Shahid King Bolsen has an opinion on elections in the United States.
(about 4 min followed by 4 min of evidence of US election issues)

Jimmy has a couple of good pieces on election issues...

You Can’t Vote Against The Crumbling Empire! w/ Matt Kennard
(32 min)
“The Racket” author Matt Kennard joins Jimmy to discuss how democracy in the United States is an illusion and that the duopoly only gives the appearance of a choice. In fact, Kennard says, there is no way to vote against the corporate ownership that controls the economy, keeps working people poor and perpetuates endless war all over the globe to the benefit of corporate interests.
Jimmy and Kennard discuss corporate control ov every aspect of our lives, as well as how potential threats like Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn were neutralized and how rising powers like China and Latin America are challenging U.S. hegemony.

Democrats MELTDOWN Over Reasonable Voter ID Bill! (25 min) with Craig Pasta.

They also discuss ballot harvesting.

Well, last week we had the inside attempt to kill Trump. This week we have another suspicious action.
Biden's withdrawal wasn't a surprise, but the way it happened sure raises suspicion...
First there's the rather bizarre letter posted on X with a funny signature. It's not on white house stationary, and Biden disappears for days.
However we do know “He’s Alive!!” ...
Alex does a great job reviewing Biden's withdrawal speech...in the first few minutes before moving to the EU and other issues.

Sabby dissect it almost line by line (20 min)
She suggests it sounds like a hostage statement.

The why of the withdrawal...
Joe Biden had to withdraw from the US presidential race late last week after threats by high-ranking Democrats to forcibly remove him from office – the New York Post (NYP) reports, citing unnamed sources. The well-orchestrated “palace coup” has been in place for weeks, with Biden fighting it “every step of the way,” the sources claimed, referring to “anger, paranoia and frustration” allegedly shown by the 46th US president, as the party elite piled pressure on him. The top Democrats had threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution to stop Biden from seeking re-election, the insiders argued, recalling that the document authorizes the vice president, and members of the Biden administration, to declare the president unfit for service. According to the insiders, part of the “elaborate” strategy to remove Biden from the presidential race involved permitting him to debate Republican candidate and former US President Donald Trump last month.

Obama Threatened Biden with 25th Amendment – Seymour Hersh

Cass posted a clip explaining the early debate was evidence this was a set up.

So now were in the midst of a Kamala psyop.

(6 min) Kamala Harris secures the necessary delegate support to potentially become the first black woman to lead the United States, paving the way towards new frontiers in global dominance and political arena.

The lies TPTB are ginning up about her popularity and how close the polls are and how competitive she will be in November are just starting.

KamalaWhiteWash.jpg

Here's an honest ad for Kamala...

UrsulaBallet.jpg

Alex covers the opening of the Olympics in Paris as being the inside of Macron's head.

Glenn Diesen gives a master class in propaganda and describes how Russia hate has been propagated in the EU.

EU's SUICIDAL PATH: The US's Handy Puppet, Loss of Sovereignty, Economic Decline| 55 min

Europe’s Path to War and Self-Destruction
It is remarkable that the EU, which could be completely devastated by a possible escalation of the war in Ukraine, is not only doing nothing to avert this danger and stop the killing, but is also undermining the diplomatic attempts of a member state.
...
Still today, more than two years and many tens of thousands of deaths later, the EU states have committed themselves to a senseless program of rearmament and confrontation instead of diplomacy. Following the decisions taken at the NATO summit in Washington D.C., new medium-range missiles that can be equipped with nuclear warheads are to be stationed in Germany – for the first time since the 1980s. Instead of making Germany any safer, this will turn the country all the more into a potential target for attacks in the event of an escalation. There was no public debate or involvement of the German parliament on this momentous step.

The censorship in the EU is being accelerated...
Vivendi’s Controversial French C8 Channel Loses TNT Frequency In Bombshell TV Authority Decision
That's right - just outlaw any news source that contradicts the narrative.

I'm not sure which clip of Chas Freeman it was where he explains how the EU is controlled by appointed bureaucrats like Ursala. You know, democracy. And now they plan to follow in the US footsteps and develop a war based economy. Poor Europe.

Well we can hope there's a way out of this mess in the US and EU...

Nothing like knowing a smart ass...

Y'all have a great Sunday. I'll look forward to your thoughts in the comments below.

Thanks for the watch Lookout. China and Russia, along with the SCO and BRICS
seem to be the saner voices in this world. EU and US are on the other end of the
spectrum with their thugs in NATO. Unsane.

As we've discussed several times, the hope is with the BRICS, etal. We're in a crumbling empire and it is sad to see. However, ending the global chaos we export is a good thing to my mind.

so called "Voter ID" act(s). I think that it is critical that we call them what they really are: Voting Permits. That eliminates a lot of bogus rhetoric (some of which Jimmy repeated) and makes the application of things like the prohibition on poll taxes a bit clearer. That is, after all, what we are talking about, VOTING PERMITS.

Bogus rhetoric eliminated:
you need ID to buy alcohol, toabcco, etc. - irrelevant
you need ID to drive and to rent a car - irrelevant
you need ID to get on an airplace - partly true and partly relevant.

None of the ID required above necessarily involves proof of citizenship, except the right to get on certain commercial airplane flights (Real ID Act)

So, we want something that is specific as to proof of citizenship, calling it a Voting Permit makes it clear that this isn't about buying beer or renting a car, etc.

So, some states will sell you the appropriate papers for a fee - that is a poll tax and is actually illegal. We can't charge you $20 to vote, and similarly should not be allowed to charge you $20 for paperwork that will allow you to vote, the absence of whicch will prevent you from voting; it is game playing.

Anybody possessing real ID should be able, upon presentation of same, be issued a VOTING PERTMIT free of charge. If we're looking at a federal law, then any federal, state, city or county office should be reguired to issue said permit. Those who lack Real ID must go to a designated facility with proof of citizenship.
Proof of indentity plus
a) Naturalization papers will work, don't ever lose those, ever.
b) Certificate of Live birth showing
1) birth in US or special locale OR
2) Names of parents plus
i) Proof that one or both parents was/were US citizens at the time of said birth.

BE AWARE that we are talking about PROOF of these things. Married women take special care to be able to prove your identity. In fact, everybody needs to figure out what is an appropriate proof that they are the person named in the certificate of live birth and not an imposter, and to procure an appropriate paper trail showing same.

There is no reason not to do this, it will impose no undue hardships on anybody and will not lead to the disenfranchisement of anybody due to inability to comply.

a slight bit of insurance against certain forms of harassment in certain states, but, most importantly, since I have a valid US passport. I got through the whole license renewal process in record time, my own special windows with no lines, etc.

Another thing to bounce around, the state (and potentially federal) level database of those with drivers' licenses who declined Real ID. Why? What are they up to? etc.

I think the voter ID schtick is mostly a cure looking for a disease. There is no evidence of massive voter fraud, especially of a type that any of these Voter Permit law would fix without a lot of ancillary rules and laws. What they hate is the lack of control.

I'v permanent vote by mail. They can't make me take time off work, drive to some distant official polling place where they can try and intimidate me, propagandize me, note what type of ballot I get and make me stand in line forever and limit what and whom I can take into the voting booth, etc. etc. They will use these bogus Voting Permit laws to try to restrict mail-in-voting, they are simply a necessary first step. They are the thin edge of the wedge under the door to overthrow Article I Section 4 of the US Constitution:

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.

@QMS Texas changed their driver's license card to have a gold lone star on it. All Texas drivers had to get a re-issue. We were told it is like a passport "to fly anywhere in the country" with ease at airport check in. Well, you only need a passport to fly internationally. Hmmm...
This was all happening during the COVID lock downs, so the process could only be done at certain locations, and by appointment only. There was a substantial cost increase for it.
You have to show it to vote, whereas your postcard voter registration card used to be required to get to a voting booth.

Patrick Lawrence, the big cheese at Scheerpost, did a piece on the Democrats, which appears on a PDF associated with WordPress. It's titled "An Empire on Automatic Pilot." Its overall argument, that demagogues "cannot appeal to voters by offering them superior ideas, the promise of new policies, or any kind of new national direction because they have none of either," applies equally to all of the franchised. But he tosses it back to us when it comes to predicting what will happen to "an empire on automatic pilot."

Joan Robinson once said of capitalism that "The system is cruel, unjust, turbulent. but it does deliver the goods, and, damn it all, it's the goods that you want." I guess that's the point at which we see change, when the system fails to deliver the goods.

The Asahi article is a good update.

The countries discussed reinforcing extended deterrence to promote regional stability and deter the outbreak of conflict, according to an official readout that was scant on detail.

"We are at a critical juncture. In order to thoroughly defend the existing international order, we need to continuously strengthen our alliance and enhance the deterrence – the power," Japan's Kamikawa told reporters at the outset of the talks.

Japan provides a base for the U.S. to project military power in Asia, hosting 54,000 American troops, hundreds of U.S. aircraft and Washington's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier strike group.

Prompted by China's growing military might and regular missile tests by nuclear-armed North Korea, Japan has in recent years shifted dramatically from decades of postwar pacifism. In 2022 it unveiled a plan to double defence spending to 2% of gross domestic product.

Thanks for the OT Lookout! Back in the old days on the road, I spoke to Bill Binney once live on a call in radio program about "parallel construction." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has delayed a flight that was scheduled to carry more than 150 injured and sick Palestinian children to the United Arab Emirates for treatment. It is not known if or when the flight will be rescheduled.
Last week, Netanyahu instructed his government to develop a plan to transfer patients out of Gaza and into a third country. Citing government officials, Israeli media reported on Sunday that Netanyahu made the decision after an explosion on a football field in Israel-occupied Golan Heights killed 12 Arab Druze children. Israel blames Hezbollah for the attack, but the Lebanese group denied the accusations and said it was an Israeli air defense missile that fell on the field
