Album of the Week - 5-25-24
Submitted by joe shikspack on Sat, 05/25/2024 - 3:00pm
Afternoon folks!
It's a small haul this week, but there's some great stuff. There's an Albert King compilation of some of his best recordings and a Wilson Pickett compilation of his hits. Following that there's a kind of underrated Roomful of Blues album which I really like and finishing us off is a mid 70's rock album, the first from Crack The Sky.
You all have a great weekend and enjoy the tunes!
Here 'tis:
Albert King - King Of The Blues Guitar
Wilson Pickett - The Best Of Wilson Pickett
Roomful of Blues - Dressed Up To Get Messed Up

A fun group to see. Being a local band, they show up in many local
venues. Once at the Hotel Viking in Newport, the driving horn section
filled the ballroom with swing!
Thanks for featuring them here.

roomful had one of the best horn sections going outside of new orleans, it was always great to see them when they played in my area. there's another similar group from your area called
"the love dogs," ever seen them?
