Will be in transit to the farm this morning, so will be in-n-out (ooh now I want a burger) with responses.
Family have a lot of trees and limbs down from the latest storms and I'm on my way to get the equipment needed to get them cleaned up this weekend as it is supposed to be clear and dry.
We've had a couple of unusual days of 60+ degree weather coming from just 12 degrees a couple of weeks ago. A lot of rain in between though.
I know the weather can be fickle and unpredictable at times.
So can our government.
The recent attack on the US base that left 3 dead soldiers has put pressure on the Big Guy with Ten% brains to do something stupid (which he was installed to do) and retaliate.
Some warmongers in Congress want him to mimic the Gaza response and kill 30k of someone somewhere just to let everyone know we mean business. Sock it to 'em.
And that's in a literal and philosophical sense. All wars are bankers wars.
I sense the end of something is near. I just don't know what.
Apparently, I'm over-reacting in my fears as the Dow continues to climb to heights never seen before (over 38k). It's as if the big investors see a big bounce in something coming.
What are the markers? Gold and silver are steady, but food continues to go up. Gas is wavering up and down but still widely available. Our military continues to spend outrageous amounts of taxpayer money with stupid war exercises where there are always accidental injuries and deaths.
All we can do is stock up and keep close watch I would guess.
Does anyone of you have a good tripwire? I'd like to hear it.

Yeah, got some battery shortwave radio and some walki talkis that reach across the river to family over there. Have an antenna setup to reach over 9 miles plus it has Ham radio capabilities.
Four family members have the same setup (Baofeng) and we have pre coordinated times and channels to use in case of emergencies.
We are all up and running on personal safety equipment and also have a small 2000 watt generator that sips gas.
Have both gas and electric cars, so good there. And power boats/kayaks for ferrying stuff across the Columbia should it be needed.
It's still a crap shoot though.

I got the impression

@earthling1 the man is a political activist and a veteran.
Sometimes all of us get pretty damned rankled by a politician, and in anger, may spout off something that could be construed as a criminal act.
I have temper tantrums occasionally. I just try to keep them as private as possible.

All we can do is prep best we can....

...and live our lives. Most folks in my community depend on actually being with one another rather than using com devices.

No doubt we're going into something weird. Don't know what and can't out guess TPTB. The notion they want us as serfs is certain to my mind, but their big plan still deludes me.

Hang on as we slide into 2024. It may prove to be the inflection point we've been expecting.

Israeli forces disguised as medical staff and civilians have shot dead three Palestinians inside a hospital in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

The killings were carried out by undercover operatives while the men were sleeping at Ibn Sina Hospital, according to statements issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Israeli army on Tuesday.

“This morning three young men were martyred by the bullets of the occupation [Israeli] forces who stormed the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin and shot them,” the Ministry of Health in Ramallah said.

The Israeli army said its troops had “neutralised” the men, who were hiding in the hospital and belonged to a “Hamas terrorist cell”.

Security camera footage circulated online appeared to show about a dozen undercover personnel, including three in women’s clothing and two dressed as medical staff, pacing through a corridor of the hospital with assault rifles.

One of the men was injured and in bed when he was killed, said the Palestinian armed group.

Hamas confirmed that Jalamneh was one of its members. The Jenin Brigade, which includes a number of Palestinian armed resistance groups, said in a statement that two of the three men were members of Islamic Jihad.

Basil was injured by missile fragments following an Israeli drone attack on October 25 targeting a group of men near the Jenin camp cemetery and had been receiving treatment at the hospital for three months, according to Al Jazeera sources.

The mother of the Ghazawi brothers said the two were loved by everyone. “The last time I saw them was yesterday night … I was in the hospital,” she said in a video shot by local media, adding that she went home as Mohammad said he would stay with Basil.

“I was still waking up this morning when I heard that special forces raided the hospital … They were killed while they were asleep.”

Apart from that they share the mental characteristics of most US leaders: They have have an overarching self-interest involved in the decisions they make, and they manipulate others with pretend-empathy for the suffering humankind, which they themselves often inflict — just like the sociopaths that they are.

The People have no enlightened leaders because truth-tellers often live short, unprotected lives. The Christ story, which patterns social justice efforts, was turned into a phony-baloney religion to obscure its very message. We live in a so-called civilization that profits from the existence of the greater fools. Why else would the plutocrats in government turn Christianity into a political fetish? The idiot's promise of divine intervention overwhelms analytic thought and blurs the People's ability to see what's coming — which, by the way, is always very profitable for the few. The US population has been groomed to act as the greater fools in this enterprise — the losers who spike the profits of the insiders. Sadly, the West has no Chinese (social) characteristics, wherein the People's prosperity and happiness and the peaceful enjoyment of their environment is the key criteria for determining the success of its leadership.

Hi all, Hey E1,

Laugh-In was great. Rowan and Martin were pushing the boundries socially fairly often on the show. I have watched a bit of it on youtube and lots remains fairly funny, despite much of a political nature being dated. The Fickle Finger of Fate was a good bit too.

The funniest thing I saw was a clip showing Dan Rowan doing his 'News of the Future', TWENTY years from now. Mind you this was about 68 when Ronald Raygun just got elected governor of California. Many still in shock or disbelief a B-grade actor could act his way to being in charge.

Dan said 'Twenty years from now, President Reagan, and stopped for the laugh before proceeding with the silly punchline. Everyone broke up at 'President Reagan'. It was indeed hilarious to even think it at the time. No one could believe he was governor!

Twenty years later... well, it wasn't so funny, but instead prescient.
