Warmongers want the U.S. to go to war with Iran

The WSJ thinks that they know who is to blame.

Iran Helped Plot Attack on Israel Over Several Weeks

That's interesting how quickly they figured it out considering that both Mossad and the CIA were caught entirely flat-footed by the Hamas raid.
In fact, the U.S. intelligence claims to have not seen any evidence of Iran's involvement. Iran has also denied involvement. Interestingly, the Israeli military also hasn't seen the evidence.

The Israeli military has said there is no concrete evidence of Iranian involvement in the Hamas attack from Gaza, after denials issued by the Iranian foreign ministry.

“Iran is a major player but we can’t yet say if it was involved in the planning or training,” said R Adm Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the Israel Defence Forces.

So besides the WSJ, who wants us to go to war with Iran? Netanyahu of course.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has spent the past three decades sounding the alarm about Iran’s nuclear programme and threatening to attack the country on countless occasions. Most recently in September, he said in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly that Tehran must face a “credible nuclear threat” before his office corrected the record to “credible military threat”.

After Hamas’s attack on October 7, Netanyahu may finally be able to act on his threats. The gruesome scenes in southern Israel have provided the Israeli prime minister with the necessary pretext and international backing for a wider response.

Netanyahu has both a political and a personal stake in all this. A drawn-out regional conflict would block or at least postpone any official accountability for his utter failure to prevent Hamas’s attack from happening in the first place and could also put his multiple indictments on corruption charges on an indefinite hold.

Overnight, he transformed from a failed and embattled prime minister to a wartime leader, with opposition parties clamouring to join him in a national unity government.

That's amazing. The guy has been on trial for corruption, he's guilty of war crimes, he's in the process of making a power grab with their judicial system, and he completely failed to protect the Israeli state, yet he's more popular than ever.

But Netanyahu and his fanatic ministers may have something very different in mind for the US deployment, that goes beyond military deterrence and political posturing. He may try to widen the scope of the war to include Iran.

His government has already accused Iran of supporting and directing Hamas’s operation, as it has previously done about other Palestinian attacks on Israelis. Scores of Israel supporters and neoconservatives, as well as media pundits in the US and Europe, have joined in by making the case for Iranian involvement.

The first place to look, of course, is Lindsey Graham:

“We have a chance to reset here,” Graham said. “This is an Israeli ‘9/11,’ it couldn’t have happened without a lot of money and technology and weapons. So it’s time to hold them accountable. The escalation of the conflict should result in a joint attack on the Iranian oil infrastructure to put them out of business.”

Of course, nobody is required to listen to Graham.

There are plenty of other developments to notice, too. Hezbollah is now involved in war again. Biden is going to give Israel ammunition, and so soon we will be able to see if the alibi presented to Ukraine earlier this year, that NATO was out of ammunition, was true or not.

Now, what we get from Alexander Mercouris is that there was some sort of deal in the works between the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel, wherein Saudi Arabia was going to agree to recognize Israel and, in return, the US was going to provide the Saudis with "something nuclear" (meaning nuclear weapons). Should we assume that such an agreement is now off the table?

"The Democratic Party has been focused too much on pleasing people who matter too little in this society." -- Chris Cuomo

@Cassiodorus

That is one of the most powerful Duran episodes ever. Near the beginning, in describing the problems Israel might have in a ground assault, in urban warfare in Gaza, Mercouris says, "I’m very concerned, that without understanding exactly what they are doing, the Israelis are walking into a trap.”

That reminded me of my earliest concerns about the whole concept of Israel. I'm now in my late 70's, but 60-something years ago when I was in high school I had several friends who were going to Israel during the summer to work on a kibbutz. I remember thinking then that Israel was a part of some country, sort of like a religious community living peacefully within the general population. It wasn't until much later, probably when I was in my 20's, that I heard that Israel was taking over people's homes, villages and farms by force. At that point I began to wonder if the idea of Israel wasn't part of the Final Solution. I still think that's possible.

The two Alexes, in this discussion, really cover all the possible ways to understand the intelligence failure, or the intelligence arrogance, evident in this catastrophe. But it just may be that all the flaws in the concept of Israel from the beginning are finally causing an implosion. Intentional or not, the injustice of insisting that Israel should take over the lands of the Palestinian people by force is suddenly all there is, and the images of murdered young people on both sides is all we see.

First destroy Russia (oops), then Iran
(with a little help from Nutty yahoo)
and finish it up with China. They seriously still believe in the invincibility of the
US/NATO war machine?
It is one thing to clear the game board, but the practicality of that plan is pretty thin.

mongers and the MSM who can show their pro Israel bona fides.

To name a few of them:

Heaven forbid those who might take a rational approach to the conflict.

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4245770-tlaib-bush-criticized-by-demo...

Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Cori Bush (D-Mo.) are facing criticism from fellow Democrats over weekend statements in which they each labeled Israel as an apartheid state and called for the U.S. to end funding to the nation, amid a surprise attack by Hamas that killed hundreds.

Tlaib said she continues to “grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day,” before calling for “dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.” She has previously criticized the Israeli government and had denounced a House resolution supporting Israel in a floor speech in July.

Tlaib, who is of Palestinian heritage, also called for lifting the blockade of the Gaza Strip and for “ending the occupation” in her lengthy statement.

“The failure to recognize the violent reality of living under siege, occupation, and apartheid makes no one safer. No person, no child anywhere should have to suffer or live in fear of violence. We cannot ignore the humanity in each other,” she said.

“As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue,” she continued.

Bush also issued similar comments in a statement Saturday, in which she condemned the targeting of civilians and said she was “heartbroken” by the violence. She also called for the end of U.S. support for Israel.

“As part of achieving a just and lasting peace, we must do our part to stop this violence and trauma by ending U.S. government support for Israeli military occupation and apartheid,” she said.

Tlaib’s and Bush’s remarks were quickly met with pushback from both the right and the left, including two Democrat lawmakers. In comments to Jewish Insider, Reps. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) and Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) condemned the lawmakers’ statements.

“U.S. aid to Israel is and should be unconditional, and never more so than in this moment of critical need,” Torres said in a statement to Jewish Insider. “Shame on anyone who glorifies as ‘resistance’ the largest single-day mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust. It is reprehensible and repulsive.”

@humphrey under Reagan the neoconservatives were a novelty, and so you had books like Robert Scheer's With Enough Shovels. Today we have neoconservative liberals, and so Alexander Mercouris says in the video I posted above that there really isn't anyone vaguely close to the Biden administration who is vaguely interested in diplomacy and that at present those in foreign policy circles who are interested in brokering peace have been kept far away from power.

This, then, is why we don't go on Pod Save America to endorse Joe Biden.

@humphrey

All Americans should be horrified and outraged by the brazen terrorist attacks on Israel and the slaughter of innocent civilians.

How many innocent civilians did you slaughter with your drone attacks and then pat yourself on the back and say that, "Gee I’m good at killing." ?

The people who have been captured by the Israeli lobbyists are cowards for never holding Israel accountable for it ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinians and stealing Palestinian's land and homes while restricting their access to food and medicines and keeping them on starvation diets. Just like Germany did to the people they stuck in the Warsaw ghettos.

Tell me the difference between the Nazi and Zionist regimes….I’ll wait.

@snoopydawg
That's simple. Nazis targeted Jews, Gypsies, Russians, and gays for elimination. Zionists target Palestinians, Syrians, Iranians, and other Muslims that get in their way.

How come none of the pro-Israel asswipes never said that Palestinians should get aid and sent weapons after Israel attacked them without provocation numerous times? And if they think that Israel has a right to defend itself after Hamas lobs bombs into the country does that mean that they support Russia attacking Ukraine after they lobbed bombs into Russia? I’d love to see them debate this.

Rubio just joined Albright’s defense of slaughtering innocent civilians including women and children.

This tragically necessary effort will come at a horrifying price.

.

last month (and for decades for Bibi) and how if any Jews were killed then Israel would attack Iran. You HAVE to watch the video and see the info that was posted last month to understand why he thinks this attack by Hamas might have been a false flag event. I recently asked if Israel and the CIA had created Hamas. It’s the 2nd video just under the discussion of how China announces support for Palestinian statehood. It has screenshots of how Israel sent arms to Azarbaijan against Armenia. I’m not educated enough to know if he’s right, but he says that Israel funded Muslims against Christians. The next caption is of Israel’s defense minister threatened Iran on 9/11/2023 that Israel would be coming for them if any Jews were hurt or killed.

Like the 9/11 Inside Job, Israel Coincidentally Suffers the Same Intelligence Failures in the Purported Hamas Attack. Who Really Controls HAMAS?

IS HAMAS an EXTENTION of ISRAELI and MOSSAD INTELLIGENCE?

How and why Israel helped create Hamas

Not many people are aware of the fact that it was Israel which had helped the creation of Hamas as a counter to PLO - Dr Moonis Ahmar May 30, 2021 (Source)

Israeli officials and media pundits now want answers: how could Israel's most celebrated and storied intelligence organization Mossad have missed it? How did the military not have any foreknowledge that it was coming? How did the Gaza jihadists overrun several IDF outposts so swiftly and easily?

Military men are asking similar questions, with Eli Marom - the former head of the Israeli navy, stating in a national broadcast, "All of Israel is asking itself:

Where is the IDF, where is the police, where is the security?… It’s a colossal failure; the hierarchies have simply failed, with vast consequences."

I find it very interesting that so many people and countries are blaming Iran for the attack because they helped Hamas plan it. Que the Iran warmongers coming out in favor of doing just that.

I posted this essay Saturday from a woman who served in the IDF and she is asking some good questions.

“This surprise attack seems like a planned operation”

Efrat Fenigson, Peace activist and formerly served in Israeli IDF intelligence

Substack Here

Two years ago there was a successful deployment of underground barriers in with sensors - to alert terrorists breaches. Israel has one of the most advanced and high tech armies, how come there was zero response to the border and fence breaching??

I served in the IDF 25 years ago, in the intelligence forces. There’s no way Israel did not know of what’s coming. A cat moving alongside the fence is triggering all forces. So this??
What happened to the “strongest army in the world”?
How come border crossings were wide open??

Something is VERY WRONG HERE, something is very strange, this chain of events is very unusual and not typical for the Israeli defense system.

Again it seems like there are 2 different factions in government with different goals. One wants to wipe Iran off the map and the other one doesn’t want to do that. Hence Blinken saying that he has seen no evidence of Iran’s involvement in the attack on Israel. Lots of people are questioning whether Bibi is wagging the dawg.

I’m just saddened by how many innocent civilians in both countries are going to pay the price for whatever game the sociopathic parasites are playing!

@snoopydawg that Mossad was largely preoccupied with Ukraine when the attack happened.

Also, as a side note, he thinks that the US will not have 135mm artillery shells for the government of Israel.

So yeah.
