We're gonna need a shiton of troops on our southern border.
What is happening in Europe is happening here. Increasingly desperate peoples are migrating north, away from the Equator to climes more suitable to subsistence farming.
Some are moving south for the same reasons, although predominate weather patterns keep the Amazon Basin, equatorial West Africa, and southeast Asia well drenched in monsoon rains, droughts are becoming more often and severe in other parts of the world near the equator.
Recent persistent droughts in the American west and mid-west have drained aquifers and are ruining crop yields.
Droughts in Canada have sparked horrendous wildfires blanketing huge portions of north America with choking smoke and threatening the health of millions of people and other living things.
The record 2007 draught in Syria drove poor farmers into cities looking to survive, only to find opposition so fierce it not only sparked a civil war, but began a mass exodus north to Europe, followed closely by migrants from North Africa fleeing war and famine.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what will happen in the near future at our southern border. It has already begun. Fewer and fewer Mexicans are crossing into America as Central and Southern Americans are crowding the border, desperately trying to stay alive, fleeing war, civil strife, and starvation due to changes in climate and regime change.
Climate refugees, the term everybody is avoiding.
The MSM is trying to couch it in terms of economic migrants.
Donald Trump labels them rapists, murderers, and thieves.
But nobody wants to call them what they really are, Climate refugees.
Right now, Mexico is the primary portal of choice, but eventually, as it becomes a seething horde of desperate peoples, they will jump to Cuba and other Carribean islands in a new iteration of boat people. Just like what is happening in the Mediterranean Sea.
So where will we get the manpower to patrol our borders?
Will we up taxes to hire more Border Patrol agents?
Do we increase our defense budget to fund more Navy warcraft to patrol the Gulf of Mexico?
Should we even attempt to stem the flow of fellow human beings?
We could bring our troops home from the 800 bases across the globe and man the border.
Or bring our troops home, cut the defense budget by 90% and use the money to help these people develop their own solutions to enable them to stay home.
I'm convinced there would be enough money saved to begin our very own "New Silk Road" spanning both the Americas.
Imagine a true high speed rail, highway, pipeline and communications system spanning the Darian Gap. A first for the Americas.
We can dream.

You expose some weaknesses in the governing bodies of this nation.
I totally agree a responsible government should be taking care of it's
own population first, before shipping dollars away to some foreign
affair. The idea of bringing home the troops from the 800 bases
scattered all over the world to be re-trained and work on fixing
issues here is good. The concept of running the world for the benefit
of the neocons and financial institutions in DC and NYC is quickly
losing its luster. How do we change the priorities is a key question.
Voting doesn't work. Organizing and demonstrating seems useless
as well. I think it will take a bloody revolution to knock some sense
into our blind rulers. Hate to say that, as I am a peacenik at heart.

Check out the 2 photos from when the tower was being built and explain how the plane could have easily entered the tower without any wings being sheared off. Some videos show the plane popping out the other side and then suddenly stop like it hit a barrier.

9/11: A Coincidence Theory that will not die

It’s incredible to me that just six years ago I had never heard the term “Conspiracy Theory”. I used to listen to the news on NPR on my way to work. My wife and I played along with the “contestants” on “Wait, wait, don’t tell me”, the comedy/news program on Saturday mornings. (We were very good at the game because we knew exactly what the facts were back then). We devoted our Sunday mornings to the New York Times Crossword Puzzle. Our friends did the same thing. We were happy.

Like most Americans on September 11th, we listen to the solemn calls to honor the first responders who lost their lives on this day in 2001. We pray for the soldiers and the innocent who died or were injured in the bloody wars that followed. However we have different ideas about who is to blame for this treachery. This is because my wife brought this video to my attention in October, 2017:

Well it sure looks like Rumsfeld got his new Pearl Harbor doesn’t it? Trump is facing close to 100 felonies for questioning the election results while Bush, Cheney, Kagan, Nuland and many others are walking free without a care in the world that they might be charged one day. 2,997 people died in the towers, many of the people who worked on the site for months have also died because they were told that the air was safe to breathe and they are still getting sick today and millions upon millions of people have died in the Middle East and elsewhere because of those listed above certainly lied to us and possibly did much worse.

Maybe one day if justice ever returns to America we will have a real investigation into what really happened on 9/11. Will any of us be alive if that happens?

ETA link to how first responders are still getting lung diseases today. Remember how long it took for them to get compensation from the government for their treatment? Have they actually gotten it yet?

will find lots of golf courses with preinstalled irrigation when they come across the border after the nuclear exchange. I'd personally wait for 18-24 months before trying to break through the fused silica surface to get to the underlying soil, though. Most of the really gnarly nubbies will have decayed adequately by then, and cesium that will be there forever just leaves a funny metallic taste- so they probably won't mind too much, while they last.

None of us will be here to greet them, though.

The fact is that the only likely thing to cause regime change here in the US will be when the PTB finally start their long-hoped-for nuclear war, and end up losing. The current regime will cease to exist in about the first hour. So whoever can throw a stone or a spear the furthest (and is the most resistant to those long-lived isotopes) will be the ones to set up the new government.

I expect them to have either 6 or 8 legs, though. Mammals are too fragile for this Brave New World.

could be much better spent and that, in theory we could create our own belt and road and bring mucho prosperity to the Americas, in theory. The US is and pretty much always has been both parasite and predator. "Hi, we're from the US and we're here to help you by bringing this high speed rail and highway communication network to your country"

Who, in their right mind, would let us build an expressway into the heart of their country for our armed forces to use to waltz on in on, and, later, all those who would rape, rob, and ruin their environment, ecosystem and economy?

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced on September 6 that $20 million in federal grants (your tax dollars) will be handed out to 34 organizations to “prevent targeted violence and terrorism.”

Since today is the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, you might think these 34 organizations will be focused on al-Qaeda, ISIS or the Iranian Republican Guard Corps. But you would be wrong. Those who gave us the Constitution and the Bill of Rights believed that the government exists at the behest of its citizens. It is there to protect, defend and even enhance our freedoms, not violate them.

Unfortunately, although the Bill of Rights was adopted as a means of protecting the people against government tyranny, in America today, the government does whatever it wants, freedom be damned.

In the 22 years since the USA Patriot Act—a massive 342-page wish list of expanded powers for the FBI and CIA—was rammed through Congress in the wake of the so-called 9/11 terror attacks, it has snowballed into the eradication of every vital safeguard against government overreach, corruption and abuse.

The Patriot Act drove a stake through the heart of the Bill of Rights, violating at least six of the ten original amendments—the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Amendments—and possibly the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments, as well.

The Patriot Act also redefined terrorism so broadly that many non-terrorist political activities such as protest marches, demonstrations and civil disobedience are now considered potential terrorist acts, thereby rendering anyone desiring to engage in protected First Amendment expressive activities as suspects of the surveillance state.

Jimmy is out as a Cornel supporter after CW hired Peter Daou, ex Hillary C advisor, ex Clinton Global Initiative, and most recently camp mgr briefly for Marianne Williamson. Peter apparently also has a past growing up in Lebanon as a member of a Christian militia working with the IDF, which, per Jimmy, raises questions whether he might have been involved in the awful massacres of Palestinians in the refugee camps in 1982. Dore calls Daou a DNC infiltrator.

@earthling1 @earthling1 Sunday? Thankfully, Chuckie only made reference to six: They've got 6 ways to Sunday to get back at ya. Not quite as many, iow. But still plenty.

It is an odd, rather pro-establishment move by Cornel with Daou, odd for a guy styling himself with some radical tones, and not so odd considering some of his positions (Covid and vaccines for instance) are very establishment-friendly. Strange campaign. I don't see him staying in the race by next November. He seems financially very vulnerable to a nice cushy offer to step aside.

Re Tulsi, she's been commenting on the Maui event lately. She might make for an interesting running mate for RFK Jr on an indy ticket, doubling down on scorned independent dissenters.

Around the same time, the administration announced new, harsher immigration rules as he fended off similar Republican attacks on what they termed his “open borders” policy, turning away Venezuelans, Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans who cross the US border from Mexico, even those seeking asylum — a violation of US law that Politico accurately described as “Trump-esque.” Even more Trump-esque was the administration’s headline-grabbing possible restarting of a literal Trump policy, that of detaining families that illegally cross the US border, something the president had also once condemned. That Biden, too, is gone.

And that's where we stand at present.

Actually, plenty of Bidens should disappear soon as dementia further takes hold. It is, however, amusing to note that the best Team Biden can do in foreign policy is to send Joe to Hanoi to nake a speech.

@earthling1 People on the border are being instructed not to touch any backpack or anything tossed from one. If the objects have been sprinkled with fentanyl, it can kill a person with just a touch.
I do understand there are Chinese coming, but it seems they do not cross into Texas as much as other border states. The current thinking among ICE officers and DPS troopers is that the Chinese will be getting that drug from their contacts back in China.

The raw materials come from China, but the cooking is done in Mexico. But because Chinese companies will ship the bulk ingredients, which have legitimate industrial uses, they are being blamed for the fentanyl crisis.

@earthling1 who has a son who works as an ICE agent. I get some insider thinking now and again. I haven't asked if this is just drug cartel business as usual, or if it is some infiltration done at the behest of the Chinese government. @on the cusp ...that this sort of trafficking in precursor chemicals is carried out directly by criminals in China or other communities in Asia. I have little doubt that while it is conceivable corrupt local or provincial government officials might be involved or otherwise implicated, that it is highly unlikely that it was condoned Chinese government activity (in contrast to CIA drug trafficking in the past). I think a Chinese government official implicated in illicit drug precursor chemicals trafficking would face the death penalty. That puts a real damper on this sort of thing.

@soryang On the other hand, the US is ramping up a hot war with China. We are just that idiotic. So, the US consumes 80% of the world's illegal drugs. Who is to say the PRC might take out some possible soldiers, loss of general US population. I do not think so. But, I will step back, watch, get insider info, and see how this shakes out. Chinese refugees seeking asylum from what? Why are they running from China/thru Mexico/to America the Beautiful? In cammos?
Btw, I have done a 3 week tour there. I do not look at China as most people do. Same for Russia.
I want peace with those wonderful people.
