Foreshadowing is a narrative device in which a storyteller gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the story. Foreshadowing often appears at the beginning of a story, and it helps develop or subvert the audience's expectations about upcoming events
(Wikepedia) Only now our news sources use the technique to prepare an audience (us) for major events such as the the "mutiny" playing our in Russia. It is real with real consequences.
I find it hard to believe it is a spontaneous event. More of a coordinated event within a larger conflict to gain advantage. Yevgeny Prigozhin has been steadily promoted in the press as an alternative leader for Russia. The latest shift is towards military leaders instead of political leaders. No longer simply words, physical action has been taken this is the last time to use Prigozhin as a divisive tool.
This posted before any reporting of a mutiny or coup on other sites. Is part of a regular occurrence of articles building up the reputation of Prigozhin over the past few months and suggesting a larger role in leading Russia.
Wagner Group: a force at war with itself Asia Times June 23, 2023
But the increasing visibility of these groups in Ukraine and the public infighting between the ministry of defense and the groups’ leadership is a reminder of the system of patronage and fealty that characterizes political culture in today’s Russia.
Turf wars are common, as rivals compete for resources, influence and, of course, the ear of Vladimir Putin himself. You only have to look at the insults hurled at each other by Prigozhin and Shoigu.
Prigozhin has been very vocal in his criticism of Shoigu and the Russian generals running the war, frequently accusing them of incompetence and corruption. The long-running acrimony between the pair reportedly stems from the defense minister cutting off Prigozhin’s access to profitable defense contracts.
Meanwhile the fighting and its destruction of human lives and environmental destruction continues.
This meeting should help determine if they are proxies or decision makers.
Sullivan, Nuland to Attend Ukraine-Organized Meeting in Denmark Antiwar June 22, 2023
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will travel to Denmark this weekend for a meeting organized by Ukraine that is expected to be attended by officials from several countries that have remained neutral on the war, including India, China, South Africa, and Brazil.
Ukraine requested the meeting with non-aligned countries, and Sullivan is expected to push them to increase support for Kyiv. The meeting hasn’t been announced and was first reported by Financial Times on Wednesday.
...
The officials at the meeting are expected to discuss peace proposals, and the Western side will likely push for the neutral countries to come around to Kyiv’s demands for an end to the war, which include a full Russian withdrawal before any negotiations can happen.

Imperial commodity money
The Spanish and Portuguese empires had one solution to keep the flow of metals going: to commit genocide against the civilizations of the Americas, steal their gold and silver, and force the indigenous peoples to work themselves to death in the mines.
The Dutch and then British empires got their hands on the same gold using a number of mechanisms, including the monopolization of the slave trade through the Assiento of 1713 and the theft of indigenous lands in the United States and Canada.
Stolen silver was used to purchase valuable trade goods in China. Britain stole that silver back from China after the Opium Wars, which China had to pay immense indemnities (in silver) for losing.
Once established as the global imperial manager, the British Empire insisted on the gold standard while putting India on a silver standard. In his 2022 PhD thesis, political economist Jayanth Jose Tharappel called this scheme “bimetallic apartheid”: Britain used the silver standard to acquire Indian commodities and the gold standard to trade with European countries.
India was then used as a money pump for British control of the global economy, squeezed as needed: India ran a trade surplus with the rest of the world but was meanwhile in a trade deficit with Britain, which charged its colony “Home Charges” for the privilege of being looted.
...
The upshot of all this activity was that the Britain drained $45 trillion from India between 1765 and 1938, according to research by economist Utsa Patnaik.
The Greater Eurasia project: Building bridges and breaking barriers by Pepe Escobar June 22, 2023
On July 4, at a New Delhi summit, Iran will finally become a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
That will be one of the key decisions of the summit, held via video-conference, along with the signing of a memorandum on the path by Belarus to also become a member state.
In parallel, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has confirmed that Iran and the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) should sign a free trade agreement (FTA) by the end of 2023.
The FTA will expand an interim deal that already lowers customs duties on hundreds of categories of goods.
...
In a parallel track, the members of the Asian Clearing Union (ACU), during a recent summit in Iran, decided to launch a new cross-border financial messaging system this month as a rival to the western-centric SWIFT.The ACU comprises the Central Banks of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Iran: a healthy mix of West Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
...
Iran is now at the heart of all things multipolar. The recent discovery of a massive lithium field holding roughly 10 percent of the world’s reserves, coupled with the quite possible admission of Iran into the expanded BRICS – or BRICS+ – as early as this year, has bolstered scenarios of an upcoming BRICS currency backed by commodities: gold, oil, gas and – inevitably – lithium.
...
The Global South has had enough of the US sanctioning and banning whoever, whatever, and whenever they like, in defense of a hazy, arbitrary “rules-based international order.”
...
The BRICS have other ideas to escape this vicious circle. Much will rely on an enhanced role for its New Development Bank (NDB), which comprises the five BRICS members as well as Bangladesh, the UAE, and Egypt. Uruguay will be joining soon, and the membership requests of Argentina, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Zimbabwe have also been approved.According to Brazil’s former head of state and current NDB President Dilma Rousseff, decisions on new members will officially be announced at the upcoming August BRICS summit in South Africa.

Humans Have Pumped So Much Groundwater It Moved Earth’s Rotational Pole Sputnikglobe June 23, 2023
A new study has found just how much pumping groundwater affects the planet: it literally causes the poles to move.
The study, recently published in the Geophysical Research Letters, has found that wells tapping underground water aquifers have redistributed enough of the Earth’s mass to affect its spin.
Between 1993 and 2010, humans pumped around 2,150 gigatons of groundwater, the equivalent of raising the ocean level by 6 millimeters. That caused the planet’s poles to shift about 80 centimeters (31.5 inches) to the east, roughly in the direction of Russia's Novaya Zemlya.Scientists had previously discovered in 2016 that polar motion was affected by how water is stored on the planet. However, its impact had not been directly quantified.
"Earth's rotational pole actually changes a lot," said geophysicist Ki-Weon Seo of Seoul National University in South Korea, in a news release. "Our study shows that among climate-related causes, the redistribution of groundwater actually has the largest impact on the drift of the rotational pole."
"Observing changes in Earth's rotational pole is useful for understanding continent-scale water storage variations," Seo said. "Polar motion data are available from as early as the late 19th century. So, we can potentially use those data to understand continental water storage variations during the last 100 years. Were there any hydrological regime changes resulting from the warming climate? Polar motion could hold the answer."Other events can also cause the planet’s pole to change its location, including powerful earthquakes and large meteor strikes, both of which alter the shape of the Earth’s crust. Each year, the pole shifts several meters.

Bison are good for the land - thanks for the video break
Rotational grazing techniques for cattle are based on Bison grazing patterns. I found the land responds faster with cattle than sheep, goats or donkeys as the sole grazing species. When combined in the same pasture or using quick follow-up rotation the land responds even faster. Those bison will have joined deer and elk to enrich the enviornment.

Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
Just how wrong can they possibly be?
The delusional fantasy of "a weak Russian president propped up by a thoroughly corrupt oligarch class" appears to be 180 degrees removed from reality - these bozos haven't ever emerged from the 1990s, and likely never will.
Also, there aren't the CIA-backed fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth columnists in Russia that facilitated the Maidan coup, so conditions are majorly unfavorable.
The vultures will have to wait a long, long time for the return of their wet dream of a helpless and dismembered Russia that can be looted at will. Ain't gonna happen.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Yep
Good points. Putin has a 70% approval rating or higher even after he started the SMO. And one of the reasons why he is hated so much by people like Nuland and her gang is that he stopped the looting and asset stripping of Russia back in the 90's. And that’s when he gave the oligarchs the ultimatum that they either work with him to help Russia get back on its feet or hit the road. The guy who writes for the Indian Punchline (?) wrote about it in regards to the attempted coup.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
Ritter really painted a succinct picture
When Putin pulled Russia out of a colonial, asset-stripping nosedive in the 1990s, at the hands of the West — it slammed the US neocons into PTSD. Nobody really cared much except the asset strippers, themselves. The Neocons along with the oligarchs and other predatory capitalists were brought to a hard stop, as they were tearing Russia's economy and assets apart and gifting them to each other. In stopping the capitalist feeding frenzy, Putin had delivered a gut punch to the Neocons who were already infected with Russia Derangement Syndrome. It was during that time that the Neocons came up with the idea of 'a Little Pearl Harbor' event that would unite the American people into using the military, monetary, and geopolitical power of the United States in an all-out effort to take over the entire World, once and for all.
Blinded with their obsession for global rule, the Neocons spent fifteen years in a vague, undeclared war, destroying random countries in the Middle East — all to make the US Military Industry and the corporate overlords fabulously rich with sufficient wealth to become legislatively very influential. (During that same period, the Pentagon misplaced $21 trillion dollars.) In the meantime, the Neocons saw Russia pulling itself back together under Vladimir Putin, regaining sovereignty and self sufficiency. They knew they had to destroy Russia first if they were to achieve their goal, unchallenged, to become the One Supreme Global Dictator.
.
The idea of a regime change in Russia,, via a “Moscow Maidan” became a burning obsession for the Neocons, especially after Putin had spoiled Maidan I, in 2014, when he incorporated Crimea, once a district of the Soviet Union, back into Russia. By the way, the Russia military never invaded Ukraine prior to 2022. That is a longstanding US lie that is still told every day by the US media. There is no evidence for such a fantastic, unconstitutional claim. The Russian Navy has occupied Crimea for 250 years. Russian sailors guarded the referendum polling places, but there was no disturbance, and not a shot was fired before or after the referendum. Several days passed before the referendum results were accepted by a vote of the Russian Parliament, and only then were changes made in Crimea's government offices, mainly with new forms in the Russian language. Most government workers remained in their same jobs. The Crimeans were overjoyed. The population was 95 percent ethnic Russian, their schools and churches were were Russian and the people didn't speak Ukrainian at all; the Ukrainian culture was completely foreign to them. To add insult to injury, the West's efforts to topple Ukraine's elected government to block Russian influence backfired in the worst way. If forged a solid alliance between Russia and China that has vastly benefitted and empowered both nations, and has diminished trust and respect for the United States throughout the world.
While the current proxy war was provoked to weaken Russia, the Neocons were determined to create the conditions in Moscow for sufficient domestic unrest to topple the Putin government. Severe sanctions were imposed on Russia during the SMO, to impoverish the Russian people and create increased dissatisfaction with their government. But the sanctions completely failed and harmed the Western economies, instead. According to Ritter, the collective West then doubled-down and attempted to collapse the Russian government using a military solution.
This last part is really important. Putin and Zelensky did meet, and together they hammered out an agreement, not unlike the Minsky II Agreement, that would end the war. The important condition was that Ukraine remain neutral and unaffiliated with NATO. Russia would continue to provide aid to Ukraine. They parted, Zelensky to present the peace treaty terms to his parliament. But the NATO Nazis and Neocons intervened. They didn't want peace. They wanted Russia destroyed.
So, those in the West who call for peace talks should get up to speed on the facts. Been there, done that.
Here’s the essay I’ve mentioned
I like this author: M. K. BHADRAKUMAR
He leaves out America’s role in the reason why the oligarchs were asset stripping Russia for some reason.
….
Not only that, but there were a lot of countries and organizations that monitored the vote and said that it was on the up and up and valid.
Yep the lie that Russia invaded Crimea won’t die until a day after the whole Russia gate scam dies. Just today DK wrote that republicans are very happy that the coup didn’t succeed because they of course are loyal Putin puppets, blah, blah, blah and don’t want Ukraine to win the war. Dumb shits haven’t paid attention to the role that Graham and McCain played in the Maiden coup or that republicans are accusing Biden that he’s not arming Ukraine fast enough and with enough lethal weapons.
And how many people have said that they want regime change in Russia? Biden and Austin have said it outright and others have hinted at it. On top of the peace deal that Putin and Zelensky agreed to there was the 2 Minsk agreements and the original deal between them after the USSR broke up. I’m amazed at how many people are ignorant of the facts about this conflict. All the facts have been written about for many years and yet people still believe that Putin just decided to invade Ukraine for no reason and if he wins he won’t stop there, but go on to conquer all of Europe. I’m tired of American's stupidity. And lack of curiosity.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
I do wonder though why Putin allowed Prigozin to denigrate the
Russian military for as long as he has and why he kept selling gas to the countries that are involved in supporting Ukraine to take down Russia. Maybe if he had stopped selling gas to America that would have gotten people off their asses and demand a stop to the war when gas prices hit $10 a gallon or more. But it seemed that many people didn’t care that their costs of living went sky high when we started our sanctions on Russia and support the weapons flooding into Ukraine. We don’t have a dawg in this fight in regards to who wins it. Maybe if he had this would have gotten us to accepting the peace deal. Or made Ukraine uphold the Minsk agreement.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
I think most of those folks have been conditioned
....and have adapted to a more important truth. They are able to live productive lives adhering to a filtered authority-approved narrative. As a result, they are always welcomed in the inner circles of politics and capitalism. They won't be ostracized for offering unconventional observations. They are less likely to lose their jobs. Their careers and fortunes will continue to advance. They will feel safe and secure, socially.
And they are right in many ways. The truth will not set them free, it will make them paranoid and restless. The truth could ruin their marriage or alienate their families. They will never waste their energy or time striving for political changes that are politically impossible in the United States. They have learned to instinctively dismiss inconvenient information or conflicting facts that might cause a psychic crises.
What good does truthful, evidentiary information do for thinking people like us? Intellectual honesty is a social burden that must constantly be suppressed. In a year or two conversations like the one we're having now will be illegal. On that note, this is an interesting article:

Ok. I am switching from charcoal to gas grill.
Might be bad for the climate change thingie, might piss off Klaus, but charcoal grills disintegrate in 2 to 3 years. No matter the brand name, they are made from cheap everything components, and cheap labor in China.
My "thing" is mesquite. I can get mesquite chips, figure out how to get them to smoke. Otherwise, cooking on a gas grill outdoors is pointless. Cook on the stove if fire is all ya got. It is the desired smoke flavor that you want.
I am shopping tomorrow.

I've used the same weber smoker/grill
for decades. I bought mine for a quarter of this price. I did have to buy a charcoal grate. Found one that worked at trade day for $3. About $40 on amazon.
I also use wood in addition to charcoal. I typically use a charcoal starter. No lighter fluid needed...just some newspaper.
Happy grilling!
oops edit to add:
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
I have a starter,
What happens to my grills is charcoal holding pans just rust and fall apart in a year, can't ever find a replacement. Then, the problem we are having with the grill we have used for almost 3 years, is the paint coating on the inside of the lid is flaking off, can and has likely been, falling into our food. It started this all of a sudden, and we are afraid to use it. It is not suet. It is the coating.
The components are all very cheap.
It was Dear One's idea to make a switch to propane.
You gotta wonder. Will propane even be available in the future? No doubt it will be pricey.
I season my grills, I keep them covered. They still just disintegrate in no time at all.
I have not ever been impressed with propane grills. Want good taste? Charcoal and some smoke. I at least hold out some hope mesquite chips will produce some smoke and flavor. Otherwise, gas grills are no better than cooking on my propane stove.

Fun Facts
Remember RussiaGate? Remember the Internet Advertising Agency in St Petersburg, Russia? In the weeks preceding the 2016 elections and for many weeks after it was over, this agency placed silly, click-bait pages in Facebook to earn money from people who clicked on them. Some of the pictures were about Hillary. Some were about Trump. Some were about puppies and kittens. Some were jokes and cartoons.
The Internet Advertising Agency was indicted in the Mueller investigation as proof that Russia had meddled in the election and caused Hillary to lose or Trump to win. The ads were amateurish and unsophisticated, and only a tiny sliver of the American public could have seen them. But still.
The Internet Advertising Agency was a few computer geeks in a rented loft, who seemed pretty clueless. It was rumored that the Agency was owned by a catering company. It turns out that they were the only foreign "ham sandwich" that was indicted in the Mueller investigation who actually showed up on their court date. Their lawyers flew from St. Petersburg to New York, ready to rumble. The prosecutors who worked for Mueller were completely unprepared. In a state of shock, they didn't know what to do. The judge was mocking them. So they dropped the charges, and left.
There had been a rumor that the owner of the company, a caterer, was somehow tied to Putin. And it was true.
Prigozhin owned the Internet Advertising Company in St. Petersburg, meddling in the 2016 Presidential Election.

I don't have to look it up. I saw that Marcy Wheeler was all over these threads on Twitter, looking for RussiaGate evidence.
