Foreshadowing is a narrative device in which a storyteller gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the story. Foreshadowing often appears at the beginning of a story, and it helps develop or subvert the audience's expectations about upcoming events

(Wikepedia) Only now our news sources use the technique to prepare an audience (us) for major events such as the the "mutiny" playing our in Russia. It is real with real consequences.

I find it hard to believe it is a spontaneous event. More of a coordinated event within a larger conflict to gain advantage. Yevgeny Prigozhin has been steadily promoted in the press as an alternative leader for Russia. The latest shift is towards military leaders instead of political leaders. No longer simply words, physical action has been taken this is the last time to use Prigozhin as a divisive tool.

This posted before any reporting of a mutiny or coup on other sites. Is part of a regular occurrence of articles building up the reputation of Prigozhin over the past few months and suggesting a larger role in leading Russia.

Wagner Group: a force at war with itself Asia Times June 23, 2023

But the increasing visibility of these groups in Ukraine and the public infighting between the ministry of defense and the groups’ leadership is a reminder of the system of patronage and fealty that characterizes political culture in today’s Russia.

Turf wars are common, as rivals compete for resources, influence and, of course, the ear of Vladimir Putin himself. You only have to look at the insults hurled at each other by Prigozhin and Shoigu.

Prigozhin has been very vocal in his criticism of Shoigu and the Russian generals running the war, frequently accusing them of incompetence and corruption. The long-running acrimony between the pair reportedly stems from the defense minister cutting off Prigozhin’s access to profitable defense contracts.

Meanwhile the fighting and its destruction of human lives and environmental destruction continues.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will travel to Denmark this weekend for a meeting organized by Ukraine that is expected to be attended by officials from several countries that have remained neutral on the war, including India, China, South Africa, and Brazil.

Ukraine requested the meeting with non-aligned countries, and Sullivan is expected to push them to increase support for Kyiv. The meeting hasn’t been announced and was first reported by Financial Times on Wednesday.
...
The officials at the meeting are expected to discuss peace proposals, and the Western side will likely push for the neutral countries to come around to Kyiv’s demands for an end to the war, which include a full Russian withdrawal before any negotiations can happen.

Imperial commodity money

The Spanish and Portuguese empires had one solution to keep the flow of metals going: to commit genocide against the civilizations of the Americas, steal their gold and silver, and force the indigenous peoples to work themselves to death in the mines.

The Dutch and then British empires got their hands on the same gold using a number of mechanisms, including the monopolization of the slave trade through the Assiento of 1713 and the theft of indigenous lands in the United States and Canada.

Stolen silver was used to purchase valuable trade goods in China. Britain stole that silver back from China after the Opium Wars, which China had to pay immense indemnities (in silver) for losing.

Once established as the global imperial manager, the British Empire insisted on the gold standard while putting India on a silver standard. In his 2022 PhD thesis, political economist Jayanth Jose Tharappel called this scheme “bimetallic apartheid”: Britain used the silver standard to acquire Indian commodities and the gold standard to trade with European countries.

India was then used as a money pump for British control of the global economy, squeezed as needed: India ran a trade surplus with the rest of the world but was meanwhile in a trade deficit with Britain, which charged its colony “Home Charges” for the privilege of being looted.
...
The upshot of all this activity was that the Britain drained $45 trillion from India between 1765 and 1938, according to research by economist Utsa Patnaik.

The Greater Eurasia project: Building bridges and breaking barriers by Pepe Escobar June 22, 2023

On July 4, at a New Delhi summit, Iran will finally become a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

That will be one of the key decisions of the summit, held via video-conference, along with the signing of a memorandum on the path by Belarus to also become a member state.

In parallel, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has confirmed that Iran and the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) should sign a free trade agreement (FTA) by the end of 2023.

The FTA will expand an interim deal that already lowers customs duties on hundreds of categories of goods.
...
In a parallel track, the members of the Asian Clearing Union (ACU), during a recent summit in Iran, decided to launch a new cross-border financial messaging system this month as a rival to the western-centric SWIFT.

The ACU comprises the Central Banks of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Iran: a healthy mix of West Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
...
Iran is now at the heart of all things multipolar. The recent discovery of a massive lithium field holding roughly 10 percent of the world’s reserves, coupled with the quite possible admission of Iran into the expanded BRICS – or BRICS+ – as early as this year, has bolstered scenarios of an upcoming BRICS currency backed by commodities: gold, oil, gas and – inevitably – lithium.
...
The Global South has had enough of the US sanctioning and banning whoever, whatever, and whenever they like, in defense of a hazy, arbitrary “rules-based international order.”
...
The BRICS have other ideas to escape this vicious circle. Much will rely on an enhanced role for its New Development Bank (NDB), which comprises the five BRICS members as well as Bangladesh, the UAE, and Egypt. Uruguay will be joining soon, and the membership requests of Argentina, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Zimbabwe have also been approved.

According to Brazil’s former head of state and current NDB President Dilma Rousseff, decisions on new members will officially be announced at the upcoming August BRICS summit in South Africa.

Humans Have Pumped So Much Groundwater It Moved Earth’s Rotational Pole Sputnikglobe June 23, 2023

A new study has found just how much pumping groundwater affects the planet: it literally causes the poles to move.

The study, recently published in the Geophysical Research Letters, has found that wells tapping underground water aquifers have redistributed enough of the Earth’s mass to affect its spin.
Between 1993 and 2010, humans pumped around 2,150 gigatons of groundwater, the equivalent of raising the ocean level by 6 millimeters. That caused the planet’s poles to shift about 80 centimeters (31.5 inches) to the east, roughly in the direction of Russia's Novaya Zemlya.

Scientists had previously discovered in 2016 that polar motion was affected by how water is stored on the planet. However, its impact had not been directly quantified.

"Earth's rotational pole actually changes a lot," said geophysicist Ki-Weon Seo of Seoul National University in South Korea, in a news release. "Our study shows that among climate-related causes, the redistribution of groundwater actually has the largest impact on the drift of the rotational pole."
"Observing changes in Earth's rotational pole is useful for understanding continent-scale water storage variations," Seo said. "Polar motion data are available from as early as the late 19th century. So, we can potentially use those data to understand continental water storage variations during the last 100 years. Were there any hydrological regime changes resulting from the warming climate? Polar motion could hold the answer."

Other events can also cause the planet’s pole to change its location, including powerful earthquakes and large meteor strikes, both of which alter the shape of the Earth’s crust. Each year, the pole shifts several meters.

@humphrey Visited my first bison herd in Montana on a rare family vacation during childhood. Then some small private herds were started in Central Oregon when I was a teenager. Actually once spun a small amount of their fiber into yarn.

Rotational grazing techniques for cattle are based on Bison grazing patterns. I found the land responds faster with cattle than sheep, goats or donkeys as the sole grazing species. When combined in the same pasture or using quick follow-up rotation the land responds even faster. Those bison will have joined deer and elk to enrich the enviornment.

@humphrey Interesting it finished with the Ukrainian and Western opinions instead of at the beginning.

Zelenskyy noted the rebellion in his Telegram channel and said “anyone who chooses the path of evil destroys himself.”

“For a long time, Russia used propaganda to mask its weakness and the stupidity of its government. And now there is so much chaos that no lie can hide it,” he said.

Prigozhin’s actions could have significant implications for the war. Orysia Lutsevych, the head of the Ukraine Forum at the Chatham House think tank in London, said the infighting will create confusion and potential division among Russian military forces.

“Russian troops in Ukraine may well now be operating in a vacuum, without clear military instructions, and doubts about whom to obey and follow,″ Lutsevych said. “This creates a unique and unprecedented military opportunity for the Ukrainian army.”

Ukrainian soldier Andrii Kvasnytsia, attending a funeral for a comrade, said Prigozhin’s intentions toward Ukraine might be worse than Putin’s, but that the infighting would still benefit the country.
...
In Washington, the Institute for the Study of War said “the violent overthrow of Putin loyalists like Shoigu and Gerasimov would cause irreparable damage to the stability of Putin’s perceived hold on power.”

@snoopydawg When someone surrenders or is taken alive, without brain injury there is the opportunity to obtain intelligence about motive, chain of command and possible future plans. The collective West attacked Russian oligarchs with sanctions early in this phase of Western Aggression so is is probably not considered a safe haven to go into exile. The Ukrainians still have significant weapons, motivated fighters with counter insurgency training and a dispersed worldwide population base if they shift tactics towards those who encouraged them on a cultural suicide mission.

Comments on why Lukashenko left Belarus could be simply wishful thinking or diversion. Just last week additional reports of Belarus uprising by common citizens was in the news cycle. A quick search to find a sitation showed all major news sites articles from last week were not included. Scrub missed a few obscure sites.

NATO state hosting training camps for coup in Belarus – The Times The Intel Drop June 19, 2023

Belarusian exiles in Poland are training for a future armed insurrection in their home nation, The Times has claimed. The militants may also “play a key role” in the Ukraine conflict, according to the British newspaper.

The report on Sunday focused on a camp near the Polish city of Poznan operated by Bypol – the “group of former officers from Belarus’ security services” who fled the country following protests in 2020. Similar combat training sessions have been taking place in the NATO nation for months, with the number of recruits “in the hundreds,” Bypol’s leadership claims.

The Times described the recruits at the boot camp as common Belarusians, who want to topple the government of President Alexander Lukashenko in response to a “Stalinesque campaign of torture and detention [that] has all but silenced dissent” in the country.

Prigozhin's Moscow Maiden?

In short, Prigozhin is looking to create a so-called “Moscow Maidan” designed to replicate the success of the events of early 2014 in Kiev, where the constitutionally elected government of President Victor Yanukovych was toppled from power through violence and force of will that was orchestrated by Ukrainian nationalists supported by the US and Europe. The fantasy of a “Moscow Maidan” has been at the center of the strategy of the collective West and their Ukrainian proxy from the very start. Premised on the notion of a weak Russian president propped up by a thoroughly corrupt oligarch class, the idea of creating the conditions for the rise of sufficient domestic unrest capable of bringing down the Putin government like a proverbial house of cards was the primary objective of the sanctions regime imposed by the West after the initiation of the Special Military Operation (SMO) on February 24, 2022. The failure of the sanctions to generate such a result compelled the collective West to double-down on the notion of collapsing the Russian government, this time using a military solution. The British Prime Minister pressured his Ukrainian counterpart to forgo a negotiated settlement to the conflict that was ready to be signed in Istanbul on April 1, 2022, and instead engage in a protracted war with Russia fueled by tens of billions of dollars’ worth of military and financial assistance designed to inflict military losses on Russia sufficient to trigger domestic unrest—the elusive “Moscow Maidan.”

The delusional fantasy of "a weak Russian president propped up by a thoroughly corrupt oligarch class" appears to be 180 degrees removed from reality - these bozos haven't ever emerged from the 1990s, and likely never will.

Also, there aren't the CIA-backed fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth columnists in Russia that facilitated the Maidan coup, so conditions are majorly unfavorable.

The vultures will have to wait a long, long time for the return of their wet dream of a helpless and dismembered Russia that can be looted at will. Ain't gonna happen.

Good points. Putin has a 70% approval rating or higher even after he started the SMO. And one of the reasons why he is hated so much by people like Nuland and her gang is that he stopped the looting and asset stripping of Russia back in the 90's. And that’s when he gave the oligarchs the ultimatum that they either work with him to help Russia get back on its feet or hit the road. The guy who writes for the Indian Punchline (?) wrote about it in regards to the attempted coup.

Pluto's Republic's picture

When Putin pulled Russia out of a colonial, asset-stripping nosedive in the 1990s, at the hands of the West — it slammed the US neocons into PTSD. Nobody really cared much except the asset strippers, themselves. The Neocons along with the oligarchs and other predatory capitalists were brought to a hard stop, as they were tearing Russia's economy and assets apart and gifting them to each other. In stopping the capitalist feeding frenzy, Putin had delivered a gut punch to the Neocons who were already infected with Russia Derangement Syndrome. It was during that time that the Neocons came up with the idea of 'a Little Pearl Harbor' event that would unite the American people into using the military, monetary, and geopolitical power of the United States in an all-out effort to take over the entire World, once and for all.

Blinded with their obsession for global rule, the Neocons spent fifteen years in a vague, undeclared war, destroying random countries in the Middle East — all to make the US Military Industry and the corporate overlords fabulously rich with sufficient wealth to become legislatively very influential. (During that same period, the Pentagon misplaced $21 trillion dollars.) In the meantime, the Neocons saw Russia pulling itself back together under Vladimir Putin, regaining sovereignty and self sufficiency. They knew they had to destroy Russia first if they were to achieve their goal, unchallenged, to become the One Supreme Global Dictator.

@snoopydawg , you nailed it with that Scott Ritter quote:

The fantasy of a “Moscow Maidan” has been at the center of the strategy of the collective West and their Ukrainian proxy from the very start.

.
The idea of a regime change in Russia,, via a “Moscow Maidan” became a burning obsession for the Neocons, especially after Putin had spoiled Maidan I, in 2014, when he incorporated Crimea, once a district of the Soviet Union, back into Russia. By the way, the Russia military never invaded Ukraine prior to 2022. That is a longstanding US lie that is still told every day by the US media. There is no evidence for such a fantastic, unconstitutional claim. The Russian Navy has occupied Crimea for 250 years. Russian sailors guarded the referendum polling places, but there was no disturbance, and not a shot was fired before or after the referendum. Several days passed before the referendum results were accepted by a vote of the Russian Parliament, and only then were changes made in Crimea's government offices, mainly with new forms in the Russian language. Most government workers remained in their same jobs. The Crimeans were overjoyed. The population was 95 percent ethnic Russian, their schools and churches were were Russian and the people didn't speak Ukrainian at all; the Ukrainian culture was completely foreign to them. To add insult to injury, the West's efforts to topple Ukraine's elected government to block Russian influence backfired in the worst way. If forged a solid alliance between Russia and China that has vastly benefitted and empowered both nations, and has diminished trust and respect for the United States throughout the world.

While the current proxy war was provoked to weaken Russia, the Neocons were determined to create the conditions in Moscow for sufficient domestic unrest to topple the Putin government. Severe sanctions were imposed on Russia during the SMO, to impoverish the Russian people and create increased dissatisfaction with their government. But the sanctions completely failed and harmed the Western economies, instead. According to Ritter, the collective West then doubled-down and attempted to collapse the Russian government using a military solution.

The British Prime Minister pressured his Ukrainian counterpart to forgo a negotiated settlement to the conflict that was ready to be signed in Istanbul on April 1, 2022, and instead engage in a protracted war with Russia, fueled by tens of billions of dollars’ worth of military and financial assistance designed to inflict military losses on Russia sufficient to trigger domestic unrest — the elusive “Moscow Maidan.”

This last part is really important. Putin and Zelensky did meet, and together they hammered out an agreement, not unlike the Minsky II Agreement, that would end the war. The important condition was that Ukraine remain neutral and unaffiliated with NATO. Russia would continue to provide aid to Ukraine. They parted, Zelensky to present the peace treaty terms to his parliament. But the NATO Nazis and Neocons intervened. They didn't want peace. They wanted Russia destroyed.

So, those in the West who call for peace talks should get up to speed on the facts. Been there, done that.

I like this author: M. K. BHADRAKUMAR

The rise and fall of a Russian oligarch

Prigozhin has crossed the red line that Putin famously drew right at the beginning of his rule in the Kremlin in the summer of 2000 in a historic meeting with 21 of the richest men in Russia — the rapacious “oligarchs,” as Russians had come to derisively call them — who had risen seemingly out of nowhere, amassing spectacular fortunes as the country around them descended into chaos through shady deals, outright corruption, and even murder and had seized control of much of Russia’s economy, and, increasingly, its fledgling democracy. At the closed-door meeting, Putin told them, face to face, who was really in charge in Russia.

Putin offered the oligarchs a deal: ‘Bend to the Russian state’s authority, stay out of the way of Russia’s governance or domestic politics, and you can keep your mansions, super-yachts, private jets, and multibillion-dollar corporations.’ In the coming years, those oligarchs who reneged on this deal paid a heavy price. Mikhail Khodorkovsky, worth $15 billion, and once ranked 16th on Forbes list of billionaires, is the most celebrated case, who harboured political ambition and now lives in exile in the US, lavishly funding American think tanks and Russophobic activists all across the western world, spewing venom against Putin.

He leaves out America’s role in the reason why the oligarchs were asset stripping Russia for some reason.

….

Several days passed before the referendum results were accepted by a vote of the Russian Parliament

Not only that, but there were a lot of countries and organizations that monitored the vote and said that it was on the up and up and valid.

Yep the lie that Russia invaded Crimea won’t die until a day after the whole Russia gate scam dies. Just today DK wrote that republicans are very happy that the coup didn’t succeed because they of course are loyal Putin puppets, blah, blah, blah and don’t want Ukraine to win the war. Dumb shits haven’t paid attention to the role that Graham and McCain played in the Maiden coup or that republicans are accusing Biden that he’s not arming Ukraine fast enough and with enough lethal weapons.

And how many people have said that they want regime change in Russia? Biden and Austin have said it outright and others have hinted at it. On top of the peace deal that Putin and Zelensky agreed to there was the 2 Minsk agreements and the original deal between them after the USSR broke up. I’m amazed at how many people are ignorant of the facts about this conflict. All the facts have been written about for many years and yet people still believe that Putin just decided to invade Ukraine for no reason and if he wins he won’t stop there, but go on to conquer all of Europe. I’m tired of American's stupidity. And lack of curiosity.

Maybe if he had stopped selling gas to America that would have gotten people off their asses and demand a stop to the war when gas prices hit $10 a gallon or more. But it seemed that many people didn’t care that their costs of living went sky high when we started our sanctions on Russia and support the weapons flooding into Ukraine. We don’t have a dawg in this fight in regards to who wins it. Maybe if he had this would have gotten us to accepting the peace deal. Or made Ukraine uphold the Minsk agreement.

....and have adapted to a more important truth. They are able to live productive lives adhering to a filtered authority-approved narrative. As a result, they are always welcomed in the inner circles of politics and capitalism. They won't be ostracized for offering unconventional observations. They are less likely to lose their jobs. Their careers and fortunes will continue to advance. They will feel safe and secure, socially.

And they are right in many ways. The truth will not set them free, it will make them paranoid and restless. The truth could ruin their marriage or alienate their families. They will never waste their energy or time striving for political changes that are politically impossible in the United States. They have learned to instinctively dismiss inconvenient information or conflicting facts that might cause a psychic crises.

What good does truthful, evidentiary information do for thinking people like us? Intellectual honesty is a social burden that must constantly be suppressed. In a year or two conversations like the one we're having now will be illegal. On that note, this is an interesting article:

Russian charged with using US groups to spread propaganda

The FBI raided the meeting place of a small group of African Americans in St. Petersburg, Florida who wrote a petition alleging that the U.S. had committed genocide against African people in America and sent it to the United Nations, the White House and to change.org.

The document, titled “Petition to the United Nations on the Crime of Genocide against African People in the United States,” notes America’s history of slavery and denial of civil rights for Black people. It argues the U.S. government still fails “to protect our health and well-being as expected under full citizenship” and inflicts “state or state-supported violence and terror on us.”

The petition, which is still available online, is labeled as being from the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement, a Black international socialist organization. The FBI says the group were directed by a Russian agent named Ionov to file the petition. He also encouraged them to protest against social media efforts to suppress online support for Moscow’s Ukraine invasion.

Akile Anai, who describes herself as director of agitation and propaganda for the African People’s Socialist Party, said agents searched her car and took her cellphone and laptop computer on Friday in addition to raiding the Uhuru House.

Members of the Uhuru movement first met the agent in Russia when they were invited to an anti-globalization conference. Anai said she had also been in contact with him via email when she was invited to attend a webinar after Russia invaded Ukraine since “we were getting only one side of the story on Russian and Ukraine.”

In 2017, the group put forth local candidates for mayor and city council, and again in 2019 for a city council race. The candidates lost. Any money the campaigns received outside the U.S. was returned. "The FBI believes these could have been Russian campaigns. It’s a really insulting statement,” Anai said. “It was the Black community that ran the campaigns in our own interests. It’s an insulting notion that Black people can’t do anything for ourselves.”

U.S. officials say there are ongoing Russian government efforts to meddle in the American political process, to shape public opinion and to sow discord and dissent on hot-button social issues. They accuse Russia of attempting to “manipulate and destabilize the United States and its allies and partners.”

The criminal case, launched this weekend, against Wagner Private Military Company founder Evgeniy Prigozhin will be dropped and he will leave Russia, the Kremlin announced on Saturday evening.

Spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed that Prigozhin, a Saint Petersburg Tycoon who made his initial fortune in catering, "will go to Belarus."

He added that Wagner's fighters will not be persecuted, taking into account their efforts on the frontlines of the Ukraine conflict. Peskov explained that President Vladimir Putin's team "have always respected their exploits."

Those PMC contractors, who refused to take part in the mutiny – and whole units did not – will be allowed to sign contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry, Peskov stated.

The PMC group launched a major mutiny overnight, seizing control of the headquarters of Russia’s Southern Military District in the city of Rostov-on-Don, as well as advancing towards Moscow. The insurrection was stopped late on Saturday, following talks between Prigozhin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, with the PMC leader agreeing to return his units to their “field camps.”

US delays Wagner sanctions after insurrection – WSJ
Washington reportedly did not want to be seen as siding with Vladimir Putin

The US has postponed a fresh round of economic sanctions targeting the Wagner private military company after its leader, Evgeny Prigozhin, led an armed convoy towards Moscow in defiance of the Kremlin, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, the US State Department was expected to announce sanctions on Wagner-linked gold businesses in Africa on Tuesday, including a mining operation in the Central African Republic.

However, the plan was shelved after Prigozhin accused the Russian military of shelling a Wagner training camp on Friday, and led a convoy of his troops toward Moscow the next day, vowing to confront senior Russian military leaders. The rebellion was defused on Saturday evening following talks between Prigozhin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

“Washington does not want to appear to be taking sides in this,” an anonymous source told the newspaper. With Putin accusing Prigozhin of treason and vowing “decisive actions” against the mutineers, the US apparently felt that sanctioning Wagner would aid the Russian leader.

Might be bad for the climate change thingie, might piss off Klaus, but charcoal grills disintegrate in 2 to 3 years. No matter the brand name, they are made from cheap everything components, and cheap labor in China.
My "thing" is mesquite. I can get mesquite chips, figure out how to get them to smoke. Otherwise, cooking on a gas grill outdoors is pointless. Cook on the stove if fire is all ya got. It is the desired smoke flavor that you want.
I am shopping tomorrow.

@studentofearth I never used a gas grill during my many decades of being single. (Most of my adult life has been the single life. No bad ass men with strong hands around.) Not sure I could tighten or loosen the valves, worried I would blow my house up, along with with me and the dogs. I went with charcoal.
I think this will be an easier way to grill. And my local grocery store sells mesquite chips.
Dear One says he's got this.

@on the cusp I always had trouble lifting the briquette bag and pouring into the barbecue. As a gift after buying my first house Dad bought me a gas barbecue. The following year Mom bought him one for Father's Day. Neither of us ever went back to briquettes. He was an excellent smoker with his gas grills. Enjoyed many good meals - bon appetite

@on the cusp
for decades. I bought mine for a quarter of this price. I did have to buy a charcoal grate. Found one that worked at trade day for $3. About $40 on amazon.

I also use wood in addition to charcoal. I typically use a charcoal starter. No lighter fluid needed...just some newspaper.

Happy grilling!

“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”

@Lookout can get the charcoal white hot and ready with nary a drop of lighter fluid. I got it at Academy Sports and Outdoors, complete with the gloves that allow me to handle it without injuring myself.
What happens to my grills is charcoal holding pans just rust and fall apart in a year, can't ever find a replacement. Then, the problem we are having with the grill we have used for almost 3 years, is the paint coating on the inside of the lid is flaking off, can and has likely been, falling into our food. It started this all of a sudden, and we are afraid to use it. It is not suet. It is the coating.
The components are all very cheap.
It was Dear One's idea to make a switch to propane.
You gotta wonder. Will propane even be available in the future? No doubt it will be pricey.
I season my grills, I keep them covered. They still just disintegrate in no time at all.
I have not ever been impressed with propane grills. Want good taste? Charcoal and some smoke. I at least hold out some hope mesquite chips will produce some smoke and flavor. Otherwise, gas grills are no better than cooking on my propane stove.

Remember RussiaGate? Remember the Internet Advertising Agency in St Petersburg, Russia? In the weeks preceding the 2016 elections and for many weeks after it was over, this agency placed silly, click-bait pages in Facebook to earn money from people who clicked on them. Some of the pictures were about Hillary. Some were about Trump. Some were about puppies and kittens. Some were jokes and cartoons.

The Internet Advertising Agency was indicted in the Mueller investigation as proof that Russia had meddled in the election and caused Hillary to lose or Trump to win. The ads were amateurish and unsophisticated, and only a tiny sliver of the American public could have seen them. But still.

fake-evidence_0.jpg

The Internet Advertising Agency was a few computer geeks in a rented loft, who seemed pretty clueless. It was rumored that the Agency was owned by a catering company. It turns out that they were the only foreign "ham sandwich" that was indicted in the Mueller investigation who actually showed up on their court date. Their lawyers flew from St. Petersburg to New York, ready to rumble. The prosecutors who worked for Mueller were completely unprepared. In a state of shock, they didn't know what to do. The judge was mocking them. So they dropped the charges, and left.

There had been a rumor that the owner of the company, a caterer, was somehow tied to Putin. And it was true.

Prigozhin owned the Internet Advertising Company in St. Petersburg, meddling in the 2016 Presidential Election.

The criminal case, launched this weekend, against Wagner Private Military Company founder Evgeniy Prigozhin will be dropped and he will leave Russia, the Kremlin announced on Saturday evening.

Spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed that Prigozhin, a Saint Petersburg Tycoon who made his initial fortune in catering, "will go to Belarus."

.

I don't have to look it up. I saw that Marcy Wheeler was all over these threads on Twitter, looking for RussiaGate evidence.
