My point here is that the negative impression that a reader will get from the subject line quote about vaccines vastly misrepresents all the information that is being gathered and analyzed. However, in order for there to really be some sort of vast conspiracy to kill us all from vaccines, every little county in every state in the US would have to be complicit. I look at the local numbers from my tri-county health center quite often. No reports of deaths by vaccine so far.
I understand a personal decision to not be vaccinated, or not be able to be vaccinated for health reasons. But why try to make people who have chosen to have vaccines feel like they may die from it? What purpose does this serve?

...and...not only that, but it is the responsibility of the vaccine developers (and now the government who is MANDATING this vaccine) to prove and provide the data in a transparent way, that proves the vaccine is reasonably safe and effective. It is not our job to prove that it is not safe. The onus is on them. They have utterly failed in this and there should ethically and categorically be no justification for this mandate until that has been accomplished.

I grit my teeth every night when watching TV and seeing drug company ads. They infuriate me. So does the power Big Pharma has on our government. I don't see a remedy coming down the road for that. That's why I rolled the dice (everything in medicine is a roll of the dice) and took the vaccine. Statistically {meaning the overall numbers since the vaccines were introduced} the majority of the vaccines ARE safe. So I totally disagree with you on that. When you have a sample size of millions of people and have a one tenth of one percent chance of an adverse reaction, it certainly can be claimed that the vaccines are safe.
I think Fauci is terrible, but I also think Malone and Kory (who have both told whoppers about the effectiveness of Ivermectin) are no less guilty of misleading the public. Kory told Congress that Ivermectin would 100% prevent someone from even getting the virus. Now we have plenty of examples of that being untrue. He also claimed that 100-200 people in Congress took Ivermectin, and he never back that up with any evidence. Malone lied about his role in the development of the mRNA technology and then claimed that the spike protein was "cytotoxic", which has been totally debunked.
Why do you trust everything these people say or write?
A total trusting of any of the players in this whole pandemic is a mistake. That is why I look to the evidence as much as I can. That's very hard to do when there are players who will actually take a scientific writing and swap out a numbers grid for one of their own invention. I have seen links to sites like that here. I managed to find a group at one point who does nothing but try to catch this stuff in scientific writing, and they can't even keep up with it. There is a whole cottage industry producing fake information about Covid and treatments. When it comes to the sciences of virology and epidemiology we are still learning, and in the process of learning mistakes are always made. When it comes to human bodies, a one size works for all will never be the case. This is why when we get a treatment such as the vaccines, we need to look at BIG numbers... overall stats. Statements such as "more people have died from the vaccines than the virus" are just not justifiable, and puts people in a "boy who cried wolf" light.
Not EVERYTHING the CDC or NIH is deceptive. The vaccine makers and the government are not trying to kill children. There are no Bill Gates chips in the vaccines. And Robert Kennedy Jr. who I used to admire for his excellent work on water pollution issues, has been shown over and over again to be guilty of publishing false information about vaccines in general.
If you stand back and review all the conversations that go on in The Dose, the vast majority of it is an avalanche of sources and ideas that are traceable to that cottage industry I mentioned above. It's not an atmosphere for constructive conversation in my view. And certainly when I have tried to present other information, I get that avalanche right down on my head. I am apparently wrong about everything just because I got the vaccinations and have offered the view that they are safe and keeping millions of people from dying.

When you have tens of thousands people dying from them and 20,000 thousand permanently disabled there is no way you can call them safe. It takes huge leaps of logic to say they are. Add in kids possibly having permanent heart damage and more kids dying every day from them I don’t see how anyone can say that.
VAERS has always been used as an early warning sign that something is going wrong and no one has questioned it like they are now. Just the chart shows that more people have died from them then all vaccines combined before. The swine flu vaccine was stopped at just around 50 deaths and more numbers for those who got guillian Barr and other disorders from them, but the numbers across the board are sky high and there is no discussion about it.
People who have been injured have talked to people at the CDC, FDA and other government agencies only to get no help in what they’re dealing with. That looks like a cover up to me. If they are safe then why no discussion or help for them? And as for Johnson giving people a platform to talk about their injuries who would you find acceptable to do it? He invited many people from the government who did not attend to give them space to tell their side of the story. I posted a link on it in today’s dose if you’re interested. People who joined with others to talk about what they are going through keep finding those avenues closed to them leaving people to deal with it on their own and in isolation. That’s driving people to suicide.
I do not put down people who have been vaccinated. I never have and never would because that’s not who I am. Insults from either side should have no place in the discussion. And it must be a personal decision whether to get jabbed or not because health issues are no one else’s business. I d love to return to that.
As to why I trust Malone and Kory is because they have shown proof of their work as well as testimony from others that use what they suggest. He's been around for a long time and was active in promoting the false narratives about autism and the MMR vaccine.

Well, this explains a lot. Before the Covid thing started, I really enjoyed your diaries on here, and agree with your POV most of the time. But I also felt that you used solid sources and presented solid information.

The trust was severely damaged by the opioid epidemic touching nearly every citizen directly or indirectly. The primary argument for not implementing additional regulations "There are no longterm studies (6 months and over) showing high doses used for pain control caused addiction or harm." True there were none in the modern literature meeting the double blind standard. And no, none were funded by the NIH (National Institute of Health, medical university, existing medical nonprofits or pharmaceutical company until generics had saturated the market with their products. Once it became fashionable to bash opioid use a flood of research was published.
I have a growing concern, other countries have halted certain vaccines in general, for specific patient populations or specific lot numbers until data is closer analyzed, additional research is completed or information supplied by manufacturer. United States' governing bodies response keeps adding potential shots for new population groups and boosters with no additional safety guidelines.
The question of what is the risk/benefit of a vaccine series and every booster shot needs to be answered for various age groups and various medical conditions? Average life expectancy for women is 81 years and for men 77 years, which can add up to a lot of booster shots.

The trust was severely damaged by the opioid epidemic touching nearly every citizen directly or indirectly. The primary argument for not implementing additional regulations "There are no longterm studies (6 months and over) showing high doses used for pain control caused addiction or harm." True there were none in the modern literature meeting the double blind standard. And no, none were funded by the NIH (National Institute of Health, medical university, existing medical nonprofits or pharmaceutical company until generics had saturated the market with their products. Once it became fashionable to bash opioid use a flood of research was published.
I have a growing concern, other countries have halted certain vaccines in general, for specific patient populations or specific lot numbers until data is closer analyzed, additional research is completed or information supplied by manufacturer. United States' governing bodies response keeps adding potential shots for new population groups and boosters with no additional safety guidelines.
The question of what is the risk/benefit of a vaccine series and every booster shot needs to be answered for various age groups and various medical conditions? Average life expectancy for women is 81 years and for men 77 years, which can add up to a lot of booster shots.
every little county in every state in the US would have to be complicit.
Every medical practitioner and business is regulated on the services and products they provide by county, state and federal agencies; plus insurance companies ranging from malpractice to general liability; and the possibility of loosing protection from criminal charges for negative outcomes by not following the regs and current practice protocols. Employees are easier to control they simply loose their job. Does it mean there is a conspiracy, no. Does it mean it is possible, yes.

evaluating scientific writing you mentioned following.
A total trusting of any of the players in this whole pandemic is a mistake. That is why I look to the evidence as much as I can. That's very hard to do when there are players who will actually take a scientific writing and swap out a numbers grid for one of their own invention. I have seen links to sites like that here. I managed to find a group at one point who does nothing but try to catch this stuff in scientific writing, and they can't even keep up with it.
It is impossible to qualify their information, access o raw data or analysis without being able to evaluate their process.
All that being said, the decision to get vaccinated or not, in my view, became one of "is this just about me"?
Using guilt or social pressure to pressure someone into taking or not taking a vaccine or treatment can actually be harmful. It does not take into account the unique living circumstances and medical status of an individual.
Mass pharmaceutical data should not be directly applied to the individual and individual pharmaceutical response data should not be applied to the masses.
For medically fragile individuals it has traditionally been the responsibility of the doctor to sort out the method to be used for best treatment of the individual. In has been the responsibility of the government agencies to sort out the best response for society. Conflicting advice occasionally happens and the patient or their responsible parties need to make a decision between the different treatment options they have been presented to try.
Stifling information which does not meet a predetermined narrative is not helpful to a person trying to make difficult choices.

My point here is that the negative impression that a reader will get from the subject line quote about vaccines vastly misrepresents all the information that is being gathered and analyzed. However, in order for there to really be some sort of vast conspiracy to kill us all from vaccines, every little county in every state in the US would have to be complicit. I look at the local numbers from my tri-county health center quite often. No reports of deaths by vaccine so far.
I understand a personal decision to not be vaccinated, or not be able to be vaccinated for health reasons. But why try to make people who have chosen to have vaccines feel like they may die from it? What purpose does this serve?

I have no problem with vaccines in general. But if a mandate to force one to have a passport I want to understand fully what the dangers are. I would accept a standard killed COVID-13 virus vaccine. I refuse to use a brand new gene therapy that had only gone through 2-3 months testing before release to the general public with a EUA that absolves the vaccine manufacturer of ALL liability should there be adverse events. The overall data set for Pfizer is a closely guarded secret until its scheduled release in the fall of 2023. Even Government lawmakers tried to gain access to this important data but were stymied by Fauci's complete control of the NIH.
The EUA should have never been issued in the first place because there were and currently are safe prophylaxis and therapeutics to manage SARS-CoV-2.
Facts have now shown that the vaccines do not prevent infection nor transmission. They only serve to lesson the disease in a limited number. But this has shown to be fleeting - barely 6 months which will then require a booster.
The vaccines will also be mandated for those that have gained natural immunity which gives rise to another concern. That of antibody dependent enhancement which can be fatal.
When there was an outbreak of TB at a company I worked for in the early 1970's we were all skin tested and given shots. As I had contracted TB when I was a teenager, I was exempted - a shot could be dangerous. I had to get a blood test for TB and X-rayed instead.
The US has been forced by the CDC to rely solely on vaccines to handle this pandemic. No other remedies can be applied if one contracts the disease. It is isolate at home and wait to see if the disease progresses to the point where one requires O2 at which time you can be admitted to hospital. By this time the disease may have progressed to the point where it is extremely difficult to treat and there is a much higher chance of death.

I went to brunch during the early days of this and masks were required inside until one sat at the table then they could be removed. Didn’t have to put them on when the waiter came to take the order or deliver it. But sure…safe and works.
Have to wear them on flights unless you’re eating or drinking. Weird virus that just stops because you’re doing something that uses ones mouth.

And considering my March date, protection from infection (presumably symptomatic) in August was down to 3%. It’s probably less than 0% now, since my injection came with a ten point rise in both systolic and diastolic BP, which adds a new, and significant, co-morbidity to my health status profile.
It was a talk by Geert Vandenbossche where I heard of the increased susceptibility to illness immediately post vaccination and the possible loss of some of the protection acquired from previous infection if one were to subsequently receive a vaccine for the same pathogen. It makes sense to me since the immune system pivots to the strongest or most recent pathogen (or vaccine). The broad based natural immunity may become secondary to the more recent, and inferior level of protection afforded by the mismatched spike protein of the current vaccines and boosters.
I would consider a traditional whole virus based vaccine that has been properly tested (not EUA) but that’s probably years out, and unless we get rid of Fauci and his cronies, unlikely to become available in the US. So until then, for me, it’s prophylaxis with a mix of OTC and controversial, but safe and effective, off label prescriptions.

My wife felt it is important to pursue the facts, however difficult, if one is to honor the effort to compile and witness to these abhorrent behaviors that are being revealed. I agree with her, and will likely persist and finish the book eventually, difficult as it is.

I have birds roosting and nesting in my patio awning and I used to grumble about them waking me up, but when I heard them this morning I once again thought of how silent the skies have been here all summer. I remember tons of birds a few summers ago but now there doesn’t seem to be very many. The only time I heard and saw them when camping was in the morning. Millions of birds died just last summer from the heat waves. Actually that’s billions of just one species according to an article I read.
I thought what the hell have we allowed the psychopaths to do to the planet? This world is no longer the world I grew up in, but was there any chance that we could have stopped them? How many tried to warn people about Hitler or any Hitler before or after, but because he had support from powerful and rich people behind him off he went to do heinous acts. Did we allow it or just go along for the ride? Either way I miss the world of my youth. And I’m sad for the one we are leaving for the kids. Will they ever know the sound of bird song?

The you look at the US maps showing monthly cases from last year (bottom of link) you will see the case rate going up at the start of winter in the northern regions and travel southwards following the lowering temperature gradient in December and January. This is the identical pattern for the H1N1 influenza. The death rate will depend on the waning effectiveness of the vaccines, the number of people with natural immunity and the number taking prophylaxis like those recommended by FLCCC. I think there will be a big push for the boosters by the CDC within the coming weeks.
I believe SARS-CoV-2 will be with us like the flu with seasonal waves but with lower amplitude when they've finally culled the older and weaker members of the herd.

It doesn't just report the numbers you usually see in various sources. It goes into great detail about the question of adverse events for the Covid vaccines. If you can't take the time to wade through all of the report, the conclusions are on page 7 under discussion.
My point here is that the negative impression that a reader will get from the subject line quote about vaccines vastly misrepresents all the information that is being gathered and analyzed. However, in order for there to really be some sort of vast conspiracy to kill us all from vaccines, every little county in every state in the US would have to be complicit. I look at the local numbers from my tri-county health center quite often. No reports of deaths by vaccine so far.
I understand a personal decision to not be vaccinated, or not be able to be vaccinated for health reasons. But why try to make people who have chosen to have vaccines feel like they may die from it? What purpose does this serve?

...and...not only that, but it is the responsibility of the vaccine developers (and now the government who is MANDATING this vaccine) to prove and provide the data in a transparent way, that proves the vaccine is reasonably safe and effective. It is not our job to prove that it is not safe. The onus is on them. They have utterly failed in this and there should ethically and categorically be no justification for this mandate until that has been accomplished.

our trust. And it has worked. Off hand, I can't think of any institution run by humans that has not turned out to be corrupt or just plain inept. I grit my teeth every night when watching TV and seeing drug company ads. They infuriate me. So does the power Big Pharma has on our government. I don't see a remedy coming down the road for that. Medicare for All would have made this whole pandemic thing easier and more equitable, but we can't have that because of the power of insurance companies and businesses like CVS, and because Bernie caved so horribly to his good friend Joe.
I haven't seen my doctor in 10 years. I'll go if I get sick and can't deal with it myself. So I'm not a big follow the line and trust the doctors type person anyway.
All that being said, the decision to get vaccinated or not, in my view, became one of "is this just about me"? And, I thought of issues like AIDS, where the use of condoms was essential to not only protect oneself but to PROTECT OTHERS. That's why I rolled the dice (everything in medicine is a roll of the dice) and took the vaccine. Statistically {meaning the overall numbers since the vaccines were introduced} the majority of the vaccines ARE safe. So I totally disagree with you on that. When you have a sample size of millions of people and have a one tenth of one percent chance of an adverse reaction, it certainly can be claimed that the vaccines are safe.
I think Fauci is terrible, but I also think Malone and Kory (who have both told whoppers about the effectiveness of Ivermectin) are no less guilty of misleading the public. Kory told Congress that Ivermectin would 100% prevent someone from even getting the virus. Now we have plenty of examples of that being untrue. He also claimed that 100-200 people in Congress took Ivermectin, and he never back that up with any evidence. Malone lied about his role in the development of the mRNA technology and then claimed that the spike protein was "cytotoxic", which has been totally debunked.
Why do you trust everything these people say or write?
A total trusting of any of the players in this whole pandemic is a mistake. That is why I look to the evidence as much as I can. That's very hard to do when there are players who will actually take a scientific writing and swap out a numbers grid for one of their own invention. I have seen links to sites like that here. I managed to find a group at one point who does nothing but try to catch this stuff in scientific writing, and they can't even keep up with it. There is a whole cottage industry producing fake information about Covid and treatments. When it comes to the sciences of virology and epidemiology we are still learning, and in the process of learning mistakes are always made. When it comes to human bodies, a one size works for all will never be the case. This is why when we get a treatment such as the vaccines, we need to look at BIG numbers... overall stats. Statements such as "more people have died from the vaccines than the virus" are just not justifiable, and puts people in a "boy who cried wolf" light.
Not EVERYTHING the CDC or NIH is deceptive. The vaccine makers and the government are not trying to kill children. There are no Bill Gates chips in the vaccines. And Robert Kennedy Jr. who I used to admire for his excellent work on water pollution issues, has been shown over and over again to be guilty of publishing false information about vaccines in general.
If you stand back and review all the conversations that go on in The Dose, the vast majority of it is an avalanche of sources and ideas that are traceable to that cottage industry I mentioned above. It's not an atmosphere for constructive conversation in my view. And certainly when I have tried to present other information, I get that avalanche right down on my head. I am apparently wrong about everything just because I got the vaccinations and have offered the view that they are safe and keeping millions of people from dying.

No the vaccines are not safe
When you have tens of thousands people dying from them and 20,000 thousand permanently disabled there is no way you can call them safe. It takes huge leaps of logic to say they are. Add in kids possibly having permanent heart damage and more kids dying every day from them I don’t see how anyone can say that.
VAERS has always been used as an early warning sign that something is going wrong and no one has questioned it like they are now. Just the chart shows that more people have died from them then all vaccines combined before. The swine flu vaccine was stopped at just around 50 deaths and more numbers for those who got guillian Barr and other disorders from them, but the numbers across the board are sky high and there is no discussion about it.
People who have been injured have talked to people at the CDC, FDA and other government agencies only to get no help in what they’re dealing with. That looks like a cover up to me. If they are safe then why no discussion or help for them? And as for Johnson giving people a platform to talk about their injuries who would you find acceptable to do it? He invited many people from the government who did not attend to give them space to tell their side of the story. I posted a link on it in today’s dose if you’re interested. People who joined with others to talk about what they are going through keep finding those avenues closed to them leaving people to deal with it on their own and in isolation. That’s driving people to suicide.
I do not put down people who have been vaccinated. I never have and never would because that’s not who I am. Insults from either side should have no place in the discussion. And it must be a personal decision whether to get jabbed or not because health issues are no one else’s business. I d love to return to that.

The trust was severely damaged by the opioid epidemic touching nearly every citizen directly or indirectly. The primary argument for not implementing additional regulations "There are no longterm studies (6 months and over) showing high doses used for pain control caused addiction or harm." True there were none in the modern literature meeting the double blind standard. And no, none were funded by the NIH (National Institute of Health, medical university, existing medical nonprofits or pharmaceutical company until generics had saturated the market with their products. Once it became fashionable to bash opioid use a flood of research was published.
I have a growing concern, other countries have halted certain vaccines in general, for specific patient populations or specific lot numbers until data is closer analyzed, additional research is completed or information supplied by manufacturer. United States' governing bodies response keeps adding potential shots for new population groups and boosters with no additional safety guidelines.
The question of what is the risk/benefit of a vaccine series and every booster shot needs to be answered for various age groups and various medical conditions? Average life expectancy for women is 81 years and for men 77 years, which can add up to a lot of booster shots.
Every medical practitioner and business is regulated on the services and products they provide by county, state and federal agencies; plus insurance companies ranging from malpractice to general liability; and the possibility of loosing protection from criminal charges for negative outcomes by not following the regs and current practice protocols. Employees are easier to control they simply loose their job. Does it mean there is a conspiracy, no. Does it mean it is possible, yes.

It is impossible to qualify their information, access o raw data or analysis without being able to evaluate their process.
Using guilt or social pressure to pressure someone into taking or not taking a vaccine or treatment can actually be harmful. It does not take into account the unique living circumstances and medical status of an individual.
Mass pharmaceutical data should not be directly applied to the individual and individual pharmaceutical response data should not be applied to the masses.
For medically fragile individuals it has traditionally been the responsibility of the doctor to sort out the method to be used for best treatment of the individual. In has been the responsibility of the government agencies to sort out the best response for society. Conflicting advice occasionally happens and the patient or their responsible parties need to make a decision between the different treatment options they have been presented to try.
Stifling information which does not meet a predetermined narrative is not helpful to a person trying to make difficult choices.

I have no problem with vaccines in general. But if a mandate to force one to have a passport I want to understand fully what the dangers are. I would accept a standard killed COVID-13 virus vaccine. I refuse to use a brand new gene therapy that had only gone through 2-3 months testing before release to the general public with a EUA that absolves the vaccine manufacturer of ALL liability should there be adverse events. The overall data set for Pfizer is a closely guarded secret until its scheduled release in the fall of 2023. Even Government lawmakers tried to gain access to this important data but were stymied by Fauci's complete control of the NIH.
The EUA should have never been issued in the first place because there were and currently are safe prophylaxis and therapeutics to manage SARS-CoV-2.
Facts have now shown that the vaccines do not prevent infection nor transmission. They only serve to lesson the disease in a limited number. But this has shown to be fleeting - barely 6 months which will then require a booster.
The vaccines will also be mandated for those that have gained natural immunity which gives rise to another concern. That of antibody dependent enhancement which can be fatal.
When there was an outbreak of TB at a company I worked for in the early 1970's we were all skin tested and given shots. As I had contracted TB when I was a teenager, I was exempted - a shot could be dangerous. I had to get a blood test for TB and X-rayed instead.
The US has been forced by the CDC to rely solely on vaccines to handle this pandemic. No other remedies can be applied if one contracts the disease. It is isolate at home and wait to see if the disease progresses to the point where one requires O2 at which time you can be admitted to hospital. By this time the disease may have progressed to the point where it is extremely difficult to treat and there is a much higher chance of death.

I went to brunch during the early days of this and masks were required inside until one sat at the table then they could be removed. And considering my March date, protection from infection (presumably symptomatic) in August was down to 3%. It’s probably less than 0% now, since my injection came with a ten point rise in both systolic and diastolic BP, which adds a new, and significant, co-morbidity to my health status profile.
It was a talk by Geert Vandenbossche where I heard of the increased susceptibility to illness immediately post vaccination and the possible loss of some of the protection acquired from previous infection if one were to subsequently receive a vaccine for the same pathogen. It makes sense to me since the immune system pivots to the strongest or most recent pathogen (or vaccine). The broad based natural immunity may become secondary to the more recent, and inferior level of protection afforded by the mismatched spike protein of the current vaccines and boosters.
I would consider a traditional whole virus based vaccine that has been properly tested (not EUA) but that’s probably years out, and unless we get rid of Fauci and his cronies, unlikely to become available in the US. So until then, for me, it’s prophylaxis with a mix of OTC and controversial, but safe and effective, off label prescriptions.

I would suggest that there are
more than 1 or 2 in the cut-throat corporations Kennedy is dealing with. The main one would be Fauci himself. They would off Kennedy with as much remorse as we would killing a fly that is buzzing around our head.

or causing blow-back that works against their agenda. He should stay off of small planes and avoid walking alone.

Malone, the good spirited garden gnome, even admitted to being seriously depressed for several days after helping with the editing of Kennedy’s book. I’ll be taking small doses of reading, and much larger doses of outdoor time to work my way through it.

Was just having a conversation
with my wife about how difficult a time I am having reading and learning just how bad (‘evil’ seems more appropriate in some instances) it was, and still is. My wife felt it is important to pursue the facts, however difficult, if one is to honor the effort to compile and witness to these abhorrent behaviors that are being revealed. I agree with her, and will likely persist and finish the book eventually, difficult as it is.

I have birds roosting and nesting in my patio awning and I used to grumble about them waking me up, but when I heard them this morning I once again thought of how silent the skies have been here all summer. I remember tons of birds a few summers ago but now there doesn’t seem to be very many. The only time I heard and saw them when camping was in the morning. Millions of birds died just last summer from the heat waves. Actually that’s billions of just one species according to an article I read.
I thought what the hell have we allowed the psychopaths to do to the planet? This world is no longer the world I grew up in, but was there any chance that we could have stopped them? How many tried to warn people about Hitler or any Hitler before or after, but because he had support from powerful and rich people behind him off he went to do heinous acts. Did we allow it or just go along for the ride? Either way I miss the world of my youth. And I’m sad for the one we are leaving for the kids. Will they ever know the sound of bird song?

in two weeks or so. The drop in death ratio, even assuming it continues, is not going to be enough cover a seven day 15% rise in cases.
We’re all hungry for good news on the covid front. My hope is that we adopt a safe and sane national policy on early treatment with off label repurposed pharmaceuticals. Wishful thinking on my part, as is your hope that a modest drop in death ratio will end the pandemic.

The you look at the US maps showing monthly cases from last year (bottom of link) you will see the case rate going up at the start of winter in the northern regions and travel southwards following the lowering temperature gradient in December and January. This is the identical pattern for the H1N1 influenza. The death rate will depend on the waning effectiveness of the vaccines, the number of people with natural immunity and the number taking prophylaxis like those recommended by FLCCC. I think there will be a big push for the boosters by the CDC within the coming weeks.
I believe SARS-CoV-2 will be with us like the flu with seasonal waves but with lower amplitude when they've finally culled the older and weaker members of the herd.
