Biden: "It's Time To End This Forever War."

I hate Biden, but I'd be a hypocrite to not acknowledge that he's on the verge of doing something very right.

The United States will withdraw all remaining troops from Afghanistan by the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, President Biden announced Wednesday, turning the page on a conflict that has cost trillions of dollars and the lives of more than 2,300 American troops.

"We went to Afghanistan because of a horrific attack that happened 20 years ago. That cannot explain why we should remain there in 2021," Biden said. "We were attacked, we went to war with clear goals," he added. "We achieved those objectives. Bin Laden is dead and al-Qaida is degraded in Afghanistan, and it's time to end this forever war.''
...
A senior administration official told reporters on Tuesday that the withdrawal would not be conditions-based, as Biden had deemed such an approach "a recipe for staying in Afghanistan forever."

Of course the warmongering media and Congress is having a meltdown, but the American public is over this.

Will he stop subcontractor spooks from continuing?
While some may give biden credit, all have to remember it was trump who put this pullout in motion.
I hate them both but let's give credit where due.

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

September 11th is a long ways away. He finally got some bipartisanship but unfortunately it was against the troop withdrawal.

I hope it doesn't turn out like Obama's executive order to close Guantanamo, which was knee-capped by Democrats.

ol' Joe needs to free up troops for the Ukraine. I mean really, how can we support our troops if they're not shooting at someone?

to start giving the ol' fart credit. Once the troops are brought home, and not sent somewhere else in our name, then congratulations can be offered. Pleasantry

This is actually a delay. Then, when the Taliban attack because we are still there after May 1, the White House will say that the Taliban broke the agreement so we can't leave.

As mentioned, 9/11 is a long way away. Why not start now? Biden was also going to pass $15/hour minimum wage, deliver $2000 checks, etc. so you'll have to allow me my skepticism. Biden has already proved to have mastered the Democrats technique of claiming to want something and also supporting all the roadbocks to making the same thing happen.

And we've also heard this before from other presidents. So far, I have no reason to believe Biden is any more or less committed to accomplishing this.

rather than sending them to another place (Ukraine?) or using this pull out to distract our attention from some other horrible place where we are stuck for 20 years, then I will have to conclude that he really does have dementia..... because this would fly in the fact of his whole record as a politician.

In other words, I don't trust this guy at all.

It is not Bidden's policy at all. Playing into the hands of the porno propaganda machine, another diversion to promise improvement, then change the rules of the game. The whole 9/11 time frame spiel stinks of bad screen writing. What about the previous agreement for May? As someone famously said: The US can not be trusted to uphold an agreement.

Or declare it an April fools date.

But we must not allow it to be forgotten, it is the day a US proxy named Pinochet launched the US backed coup that murdered Allende and plunged Chile into decades of darkness and horror.

as promised, wrecked the medicare for all, did nothing for middle class tax relief, nothing for school loan debt relief, and if he does the one good thing, it will be to move troops elsewhere to start more shit with Russia and China, and leave behind special ops and proxies.
I just don't trust him or any of them anymore.
It's like we take one step forward, 2 steps backward. He made an ass of the US by expelling Russian embassy guys for election interference, and hired a diplomat Trump had hired.

He says:

"It's Time To End This Forever War."

but doesn't. If he believed that, then he'd do it. It was supposed to end May 1, remember? That's what the major players over there thought the agreed upon timetable was, but now Joe says "WAIT! Not Yet!". Not today, but Mañana. Siempre means forever, but Mañana means "Not Now". We shall see.

One thing this postponement does not do is end the war. One of the things it does do is allow the Taliban to say "See everybody, we told you it was bullshit, they are here to occupy and slaughter us forever" and ramp up their attacks, which will allow the military, the press and all the other war mongers so say "Oh Noes, we must fight these evildoers until they cease kicking", and 9/11 will never come.

Everybody has to believe in something, but among the things I don't believe in are anything coming out of the mouths of people like Joe Biden. I have yet to see a bowling ball float, though I know that it is only empiricism that drives my belief that it won't, and this could happen, and we could leave Iraq too, and Syria, and all of Africa, and Joe could get those $2000 checks issued and Obama could go back in time and pass EFCA, but ...

It's been waged upon the American people through the Patriot Act, which Joe Biden claimed he had a hand in writing.

So I say cancel that Patriot Act, Joe!

written before the 9/11 stage show
implemented without debate
another forever gift from the grifters.

Will old uncle "groping" joe rescind his debt acts?
Will he walk back his patriot act works?
His Ukrainian ransack?
