Krystal and Kyle both are a little too optimistic about the dimwits from my perspective.

Aaron on the other hand talks with both sides about issues on his podcast "Push Back"

and then he interviews past US Syrian ambassador..

Max and Ben of the grayzone also have a podcast called "Moderate Rebels"

These are long form discussions, but most have transcripts.

Bob Scheer also has some informative interviews (with transcripts)

I'm more likely to listen to Krystal on Rising, and never have been wild about Kyle. I did notice he finally admits the failure of the Justice Dims. But that's just my mileage.

Thanks for the suggestion and the OT. Y'all have a good one!

@Fishtroller 02 I find it really curious that a lot of lefties seem to have embraced her post primary. I mean, yeah, she’s willing to criticize the dem establishment, but AFAIK, her policies are still centrist/neoliberal. The Jimmy Dore softball interview was especially embarrassing. If I have missed something, let me know. Maybe I need to watch the Kyle and Krystal clip (I did see them take Yang to task on some of his bullshit, which was refreshing. He’s another who seems to get let off the hook for bad policies just because he agrees the Dems suck.)

@phillybluesfan

Her association with Deepak Chopra and the Institute of Noetic Sciences is what she is really all about. She has made some incredibly wacky statements over the years about science and the nature of the universe. Plus she does a lot of God proselytizing. I have no use for all that, no matter what she says politically.

regularly listen to anything. It's just one of those things. I became aware of all the crookedness, criminality, hypocrisy, sleaziness, lies, misrepresentations and the like in every possible aspect of life to some extent, and ever increasingly so, back in my early teens. I turn 75 this year. Stuff like the Hill and all like that has long become simply infotainment. While new cons pop up and I still feel a need to get the true details and facts so I can attempt to persuade those who by or bought them who are somehow amenable to persuasion, I find that I am less and less enamored of that chore and that the innumerable layers of ideology/religion that have been absorbed by even those persons make it more and more pointless. We live in an evidence free world where blatant fallacies are also the order of the day. When the average potential audience isn't susceptible to either logic or facts the game seems more and more pointless.

As a result, I now prefer other forms of infotainment, abstract math which can be highly interesting even if not practically useful, or cooking shows and vids, or gardening tips and stuff like how to make a self-watering hothouse out of discarded odds and ends, etc.

Thanks all the same for all the links, and for keeping up the fight, but I've pro or re gressed to suggesting that folks tear up their lawns, or pavers, and plant local natives, or buy organic or eschew gas powerred trimmers and such.

be well and have a good one

Emails Reveal Amazon Pushed USPS for Private Box at Alabama Warehouse as Union Vote Began

"Amazon felt it was above the law and worked with the Postal Service anyway to install one. They did this because it provided a clear ability to intimidate workers."

Leaders of the effort to unionize workers at Amazon's Bessemer, Alabama fulfillment center were outraged following the revelation Thursday that the tech titan pressured the United States Postal Service into installing a private mailbox outside the warehouse just as employees began voting on the measure,

The Washington Post—which is owned by Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos—reports one of the reasons why the mailbox is so controversial is that NLRB, which is supervising the Bessemer unionization vote, had denied the company's request to install boxes at the facility, citing concerns for worker safety amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The labor board should be stepping in any minute and overseeing what actually happened with the vote that went down in flames. It could be in Alabama people are very anti union, or it could have been something else. Answers would be nice. Seems to me that the US post office worked hand in hand with Amazon to defeat the vote. That seems kinda bad.

@snoopydawg https://thehill.com/policy/technology/547347-amazon-warehouse-workers-vo...

Workers at Amazon’s Bessemer, Ala., warehouse have voted not to unionize, a major victory for the e-commerce giant but not the end of the fight for labor organizers.

Out of the 3,215 employees who participated, 1,798 "no" votes and 738 "yes" votes were recorded. Fifty-percent plus one of the employees would have had to vote “yes” for the union to gain National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) recognition.

“It’s easy to predict the union will say that Amazon won this election because we intimidated employees, but that’s not true,” Amazon said in a blog post. “We’re not perfect, but we’re proud of our team and what we offer, and will keep working to get better every day.”

Although the initial vote has gone against them, the union plans to challenge the results.

"We won’t let Amazon’s lies, deception and illegal activities go unchallenged, which is why we are formally filing charges against all of the egregious and blatantly illegal actions taken by Amazon during the union vote," Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) President Stuart Applebaum said. "Amazon knew full well that unless they did everything they possibly could, even illegal activity, their workers would have continued supporting the union."

@snoopydawg

People have been so propagandized they don't realize it. For years unions kept worker's rights safe and added more rights which meant that companies couldn't work you to death. But that has all changed over the years of so much anti union talk.

Most of the comments here are anti union. I saw one that mentioned the work they have done, and this is how that was explained:

Pragmatichist

Good job, 'Bama!! Reject the totalitarian state that unions bring, reject the pettiness, reject the hassles of the union!Yes, without certain unions we would still have kids in our factories and making pennies on the dollar, but times have changed since then. Unions had their place in the sun once, but that sun has set. Now unions are just as greedy and uncaring about "their" workers as the so-called "greedy corporations". Finally, some common sense in the world.

I would say that union leadership anymore fits that bill. They have joined hands too much with democrats and union membership has been destroyed. I guess it is better if everyone works 'as is' and can be fired for any reason without consequences. Work for a company for 50 years and a week away from retirement and all those juicy bennies? Tuff.

Great comeback:

But unions just don't make sense anymore in a country where the rich get richer, the middle class is disappearing, companies can just hire "contractors" instead of employees so they don't have to provide benefits or rights, corporations don't want any restrictions on sending jobs overseas, and the dream of owning a home has completely disappeared for a huge number of Americans.Unions belong in middle class nations like in Europe. Not in the 2-class America we are headed to.

It’s a really low key and refreshing podcast because it’s not the usual insider professional lefty kind of podcasts I seem to stumble on. Just four activists from Appalachia shooting the shit about politics and whatever else. They have some really interesting guests from time to time and I have learned so much about coal country from their show.

He was the right, and Krystal the left, but both were on the populist track. Krystal was also a big booster of Ojeda who ran for congress in WV. I don't do much watching of anything nor podcasts, more a reader. Glad she has her thing going on though. Williamson also has some good ideas.
