Those little black dots on the flower flesh are the fruit the Kereru (Wood Pigeon) find delectable.
That's my socked foot on the deck reflected in the glass door that also reflects a zig-zag pattern of the mat on the other side, indoors. The sock is simply black and white stripes, enhanced by the zig-zag of the mat. Clear?

we went to club, no glue, rice, no flavor. Burn a zag and a club in an ashtray, the zag ash remaining is 20 times larger than the clubs, from impurity residue.

duck, in a swamp no less. In the Andes there is a duck named the Torrent Duck. It surfs in the rapids and riffles of fast flowing rivers and streams, and rests and nests in eddies and other still waters.

I guess ducks just wanna have fun too! The Torrent duck would be amazing to watch surf the rapids. I call this duck the 'lounging on vacation duck'. I am having trouble understanding the purpose of this man-made raft. All I can assume is that the council put it there for a reason. Any ideas?
Enjoy the weekend.

I know you enjoy those random, or not so random patterns. Me too. There's something satisfying in the visual pleasure of patterns in light and reflection.
Regarding the float, it sounds from this 5 year old news item that It might be a trap for turtles. It’s nicer to think about it as a haven, at least for the ducks.
pet and pest. I think that they're the ones in those county fair/amusement park contests where one tosses a coin at a bowl with one in it. Presumably they are native somewhere, but not in California, and we have the same problem with people dumping them into watercourses and wetlands.

Could be a haul out for turtles,a place for them to bask in the
sun, also some amphibians are fond of haul outs too. Just guessing.

Interesting article. Red eared sliders are a pretty common
